Greymoor: PS4 Community Deserves Better

Currently PS4 players have no means of digital pre-purchase. Be it upgrade, collectors edition or just the base game + chapter. There is also no word on when this issue is going to be resolved and during last nights announcement ZOS, via @ZOS_JessicaFolsom, quickly hand waved off with a "we apologize" and for the community to keep an eye out for it on the store.

Maybe this is something some might find weird to complain about. Seeing as so many feel a certain way about pre-orders. But leaving 1/3rd of your community unable to purchase your biggest content release of the year with no word on when that will be rectified is unacceptable. The community is obviously excited about this announcement and rumors and chatter about what we already know is plastered all over our social media feeds from facebook to reddit to here. And while PS4 players can actively discuss this announcement, thus far we are not able to participate with our wallets. For some, that definitely puts a damper on our excitement. Which is not what ZOS should want.

We deserve communication, we deserve an explanation (though its doubtful you'll bother giving one to us).

The release is in four months. And it's not like stock of digital DLCs is limited. They can get it up in a month or two and you'll still be fine.

It's also likely a Sony-driven issue. Since they've said it will eventually be resolved and we won't have to miss out on any of the preorder goodies (just simply don't have the mount right meow).

Little more concerned about the continuing blue screen issue, since that seems less likely to ever be resolved than this preorder delay.

I didn't say I wasn't fine. I'm quite certain I didn't present myself as if I would not be able to live without this chapter or that it was life or death here. So the only conclusion I can come to is that you're incapable of extracting vital information from what you're reading. As the entire OP was calm and very respectful. Demanding answers and that things be cleared up is not outside of my right as a customer/consumer.

As others have said... you don't throw your business partners under the bus if you wish to continue to work with them. perhaps there are some legal issues, something they legally can't talk about other than the "due to circumstances out of our control", etc..

It's 4 months from now... If this were 4 days before release, there might be a case to be made

She did not just wave it off. She also said, quite clearly, that it was outside of their control. That means it is a PlayStation thing, not a ZOS or Bethesda thing. She can't point fingers at a business partner, but you can call Sony and ask what's up. Report back for everyone else to learn.

Really? I'm pretty sure this is a Sony/PlayStation issue. Also, I'm sure you recall that a lot of the sales, like the end-of-year crown sale we recently had lasted longer on PS4 than it did on XB/PC. You didn't see us all complaining about that (well, maybe some players did and I missed it).

And, I am ABSOLUTELY certain that you'll be able to pre-purchase the game before it launches. Seriously, are you really that desperate to be riding that new mount in game this very moment? It's coming, but ZOS doesn't know when, because it's most certainly an issue with Sony.

Stuff happens. It's "due to circumstances outside of our control". They will let you know when they know, or when they are actually ALLOWED to talk about it. Probably has something to do with Sony and their treatment of all games on their platform, they impose significantly more restrictions on games than Microsoft.

Maybe it's not their fault maybe its Sony they do have a long history of being pain in the asses to work with. It was announced less than 24 hours ago take a deep breath.

In the past ZOS has stated that the population of the game is pretty evenly split between the platforms. So unless they come out and say something has shifted. That is what I am going with. So yes, as of now PS4 makes up 1/3rd of the playerbase.

They leave us for three months and counting with game breaking bugs. They should discontinue eso on PS4 entirely since they can't even ensure that the performance is good. I'm fed up with having several blue screens a day. 🤦‍♀

They weren't fickle about advertising it on their twitter. Seems strange that they would be okay with uploading preorders for just about any other big release when its announced but not one of their biggest MMOs that has routinely been at the top of their best sellers including add-ons.

Personally I'm not going to play the blame-game. ZOS is ultimately responsible for making sure their content is out there for their customers/consumers to obtain. Trying to shift the blame to Sony without any sort of evidence doesn't make ZOS any less responsible.

Obviously it will be rectified. No one is debating that. So you and everyone else in here with the "calm down" "itll be fine" comments are going to finally admit you didn't actually read the OP and simply just decided to be dismissive? Because the complaint is that it happened at all, and that we have no word on when it will be fixed. Not that the launch is 4 months from now, or that the world is going to end because they or Sony goofed up.

What content, though? The only thing you would get right now from the pre-order is the mount, and is it really such a huge problem to wait a bit longer for that? I mean, honestly, you are getting really worked up here over pretty much nothing, OP, and people are right to tell you to calm down a bit.

If you really want to be upset about something as a PS4 player, there are other, more pressing issues you can - rightfully - vent about.
