When rogues go stealth in PvE, big red flashes indicate where they are and that they are going to strike, so why would i need extra stealth detection?
And so the Elder Scrolls foretold. You will be shy, and I will be bold.

Of course it needs to be said that should this (and Argonian poison&disease resistance) be fixed I would in fact resub again.
    Me, too.
Taking stealth away from the Bosmer is like taking magic away from the Altmer, making Nords allergic to mead, or making Orcs pretty.

The fact that the issues with this horrible passive has not been addressed yet by Zos is both stupid and depressing.

It’s really symbolic of how bad the combat team is.

I play Wood Elf, so I stuck 3 points in the Hunter's Eye passive, but I haven't noticed it doing anything very much.

I noticed it showing up a stealthing NPC in a house in Elsweyr, but that is about it.

in pvp that skill is actually a detriment if you plan on being stealthy. if you and an enemy are stealthed, they'll know that you are nearby first because their 'hidden eye' will begin opening first.

Whoever came up with this change did not think it through at all and probably has little experience actually playing the game.

I wasn't aware it was even possible to use it in PVE... which makes me question why something so extremely situational is a built in bonus Wood Elf players are stuck with, which is really more of a penalty since almost every other race has something useful in lieu of this.

Because they 'wanted to make the races unique' and do so while 'obeying their rich and structured lore', when all they actually did is make Khajiit uniquely stealthy, made Bosmer uniquely bad, and utterly destroy 20 years of TES wood elf lore.

The funniest part is where they said "Many racial bonuses do not have universal applicability", and yet they gave us one of the most situational and undesireable racial bonuses imaginable. As was mentioned above, not only do most Bosmer players not do PvP, but the passive itself is of no value and even can be detrimental to those who do.

I have a feeling that if it really should be, they did it on purpose, just to shut all of us pesky Bosmer players up. Like: "See? We told you, it was useful!" :D

    Things can stealth in PvE?

They can't. The OP is a pointlessly rhetorical question. I'm not sure why it is even being asked.

NPcs can and DO go into stealth. NB’s and some deadra. None are particularly hard to beat. So, I think the OP is asking, more along the lines of “do you BOTHER” to use a means of bringing NPCS out of stealth, and/or use a means to detect them.

Honestly, I think you should. You should fight even crappy NPCS just as hard as you would a skilled NB in PvP, just to stay sharp and not fight lazy.

Actually, no, they aren't using stealth, they are using an NPC version of cloak. It's two different mechanics. The stealth detection shouldn't have any affect on cloak. Stealth is just when you crouch down to hide. No NPC does this, ever. Cloak is when you cast a magic spell of invisibility. Some NPC nightblades and daedra use this.

Overland toons should be able to use stuns, heals debuffs and dodgeroll, yeah even some should use stealth. It will even increase the player skill from role players over time. Tie it to cp level, so beginners under 50 have this laughable Overland content. When u get cps slightly increase the difficulty (aka let pve toons use utility, not more HP or dmg).

This would also raise the floor and we don't need stupid changes that benefits bad players and punish the good ones.

And then u don't want more dangerous pve then don't spend cp and u can rp through all just like before.

I have a Bosmer stam Sorc in pvp and this passive either doesn’t work or is a detriment. I was running a scroll and ran right over stealthed players, I did not have a 3 meter warning ahead of time. I ran over a khajiit and an elf like that.

Another time I was in stealth and walking and I was discovered by another stealthed character at the same time. I might have discovered them half a second earlier but it brought me out of stealth thereby ruining any strategic “advantage”.

Inner light and I only use it like once in a blue moon when a NPC cloaks and I don't have an AOE slotted. Otherwise damage dealing abilities that effect a wide area are more efficient.

Just so you know, inner light doesn’t work on npcs that use cloak. There are “sparks” coming from where they are to warn you to block. Stealth detect doesn’t work against the active skill “Cloak” be it from an npc or pc. It only works against crouch. I know they seem similar but it’s not the same.
