You're using a dictionary definition to prove your opinion is true? RSVP as in people had to reserve their spot ahead of time, first come first served. ZOS let us know where the event was happening and the people that went, including me, responded that we wanted to go. They even had a waiting list of people who wanted to come but responded too late. We all wanted to be there, we certainly didn't have to be. And not everyone was applauding everything honestly, it was a medium room and kind of echoed. Heck, I tuned out when they talked about trials and at some points during DLC dungeon talk.0 -

They didn't say anything about housing from what I understand, but I'm sure there's something, perhaps earnable like our rimmen abode. Two pseudo skill lines associated with the archeology and a re-do of the vampire skill line.

Not taking sides here, in terms of the invited/non-invited status of the audience, but RSVP means Répondez S'il Vous Plaît.
It's French for respond please and is added to an invitation.
Even though RSVP looks a bit like it might have something to do with the word Reserve, it actually doesn't.

I expected them to use Skyrim, just out of convention. I think you are right, though. The release of ESO:Morrowind dredged up the expectation that ZOS would re-create the TES 3 game world, which is idolized. TES 5 is much bigger, on the idolization scale, and that locks ZOS into a particular pattern. ZOS wants to do their own thing, not be creating sequels. The bells and whistles this time are a new system for exploration. It is a non-combat system, which has been compared to Housing. The comparison is in the sense of it being an activity that you can do on the side, any time you want, at your own speed and with your own goals. I expect that this was chosen for the release because there is a sizable population in the game that is the target audience. This would include me, and it has been a long time since I felt that I was near the bullseye of an ESO system. (and did not feel like I was directly feeding the ZOS bank account when I used it)
That system will include discoverable account-bound artifacts, which will include new housing items. It will also include a new mount and some special "mythic" gear, of which only one may be equipped at a time.

There's a new artifact grind and I sure as hell bet there's gonna be some terrible "ingredient" that will make jewlery grind a child's play, you'll see.
Those "mini games" will be totally RNG based and your chance of getting cool stuff will be affected by the ingredient consumption, and I sure bet there's gonna be Crown Store "convinience" items that will boost your odds.
That's my bet, but I hope to be wrong because last night event was with no doubt a display of ZOS's financial health.PC/DC/NAserver
