I find it’s more often the case that the problem resides between the mouse and the keyboard rather than with the sets

So for me it’s Arms of Relequen while being used by a bad tempered soul that I spent a little time in wrothgar watching. For about 4 minutes or so they ran round in circles killing the same trash mobs, rummaging in the bag, then doing the same thing again. Eventually I worked out that they were swapping between hundings rage and Arms of Relequen 🤨

After that, in their infinite wisdom, they spent the next little little while ranting in the chat about how terrible the trial set was. That the DPS have gone way down. We endeavoured to point out in as gentle a manner as we could, that hundings rage is a reliable middling DPS set, just the thing for new characters chewing up trash, while Relequen is for killing a single target with huge amounts of health and not remotely suited to trash munching. We were called noobs by this all knowing god of gaming... 😂

If you want one though it’s adept rider... but then again maybe the pvp brigade have a use for it

This, false good and Vicious Serpent is perfect in an high trash level environment, hated the nerf on it an rapid as it was so fun clearing delves and public dungeon with rapid up all the time. its useless with no adds.
Arms of Relequen is the opposite, its for burning trial bosses or more common trial dummies.

Yes it useless sets in the game, I would vote for prayer shawl who is an worse version of combat physician who also is weak but makes some sense on say an cp 180 healer.

I actually came up with a build for Hanu's Compassion.

Hanu's Compassion + Jorvuld's Guidance... major heroism for DAYS when reviving people with the Necromancer Ultimate in Cyrodiil or BGs.

Then Jorvuld's doesn't even increase the buff duration of Major Heroism on yourself or allies raised. lolz

After I all the time I put into farming this theory craft, I put the controller down and put in a bug report and have never looked back. It was many, many months ago when I put in the ticket. I don't know if they ever fixed or not. Absolutely disappointed because that combination could have been LIT.

Reading this makes me curious about what useful off meta build people have made with "terrible" sets. I bet there are some really interesting niche uses for some of the less used sets.

Vampire Lord set. That set is even worse than Oblivion's Foe set, buffing only two skills by 400 spell damage. Mist Form isn't even a damaging ability unless you are dumb enough to take the morph which adds a little bit of damage. You can get the bonuses to your vampire abilities AND any other damaging magicka ability by using War Maiden which is just as easily acquired.

All healer sets are bad: Vestments of Olorime, The Worm’s Raiment, Healing Mage,.. They are really nothing more than buff other players and make your own character weaker at healing and damage.

Adept Rider worse than Ashen Grip?

Adept Rider for sure.

But Sithis' Touch is truly awful.

Y’all are forgetting the most unneeded set in the game. Can’t recall the name but it reduces your damage taken from guards. Like, umm, ok, they kill you regardless since they are basically terminators.
