Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

Thank you Zeni! Future patch info reveals they are listening!

thedemiseraphb14_ESO
For all the people who are complaining, and act like the company doesn't listen, that your money isn't going to be well spent, that the maintenance is pointless... all I can say is, I'm very happy to see what Zeni is doing! Not only are they listing patch notes, but listing upcoming patch plans and showing they are listening. For those that missed it :

Dungeon Treasure Chests – Based on feedback, we are changing treasure chests in instanced dungeons so that everyone gets a piece of loot regardless of who opens the chest. This change is currently being implemented and tested internally and will be released in a future patch as soon as it’s ready. Watch the patch notes for the news.

Public Dungeon & Delve Boss Monsters – Also based on feedback, we will be placing a timer on how often you can get loot from public dungeon and delve boss monsters. This timer is shared across all boss monsters in public dungeons and delves. This will not impact loot timers for quest-specific monsters or overworld group bosses. Watch the patch notes for news on when this change will go live.

http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/78524/upcoming-patch-highlights-in-progress-updates/p1

All I can say, is they are doing an amazing job, whatever the haters, trolls and whiners say. And I'm happy with the progression :)

It won't appease the forum trolls who spout the "Zenimax aren't listening'" rubbish but it's good for everyone else.

This patch is already in place.

Lot of good it did, too.

nothing NEW added that we have requested to the game. just saying they are only modifications of what has existed in the game already.

it's maintenance. It's suppose to fix things not add new things.

I don't get the second one. A timer on how often you get loot? Why? What does it do?

Just for things like public dungeon bosses, which were being bot farmed.

The people who want to whine, will continue to whine regardless of facts. Reason is not something they practice, nor fact finding. It's a shame but true. If zeni gave them every single thing they asked for, they'd still complain to get attention and cause a fuss.

Can you show me the patch notes where these are implemented? The patch notes for 1.03 don't show them. I'd like to read what else is in there then.

    Read the first line

"We’ll be pushing a new patch during our regularly scheduled maintenance time tomorrow. "

the rest is fluff since there are no ETA's. i'm sure they're working on lots of stuff, but road maps give at least a month of the release. they're dangling that carrot in front of you without really telling you anything. are those bank fixes a week from now, or several months?

LoL, so you completely missed what I said about it being upcoming... nice way to not read. Just because you feel it is fluff, doesn't mean I agree when to me it atleast shows they are planning on addressing valid concerns.

Most people forget that even games like the famous EQ and WoW had tons of patches at launch :) I think ESO is doing an amazing job with the community.

i get it...but planning to and actually addressing are different things. it would be totally foolish for them to ignore the bank issue. so sure, it's nice they acknowledge its existence and they're working on a fix, but, i think those who are being effected by it, want a solid ETA, not a vaguish 'we're working on it'

I'm saying after each one of those, they should've said

    bank fix, later in april
    this fix may
june, etc...give an actual timeframe not just a 'we know', at least that gives players some piece of mind, that's all i'm saying..i know they're working on it, i'd like to know when they plan on delivering.

I've been in the IT and testing field as well as game design field long enough to know that setting a date for something is dangerous. If it gets pushed back its even more lash back. No date allows for proper internal testing.

    @YuccaPalm‌

I think the change is good. There were problems with people going in private group dungeons where one player would run ahead, loot every chest, and give nothing to the other party members. Even if they did give something to the other players, the player who looted could always lie about what he received and give his party members meager scraps.

lol, as a MWO player, believe me i know, since they never live up to a date. but i've been a gamer long enough to know that things used to get pushed back all the time...remember those days? where if something wasn't done, a company (PERISH THE THOUGHT TODAY) would actually put more time into it and make sure it was acceptable before pushing shoddy work though potentially making things worse?

i'd like those days to return. i'd rather deal with something being pushed back and released working, than released broken and hope for fixes.

i think the problem, not that this is earthshattering, they should've just put that stuff in a separate thread...'coming soon / soonish'

I feel ya. Sadly there are so many people who feel entitled. Want it all now. Free. Without delay. And will whine and troll like madd. Understanding the machine no longer exists. But a good side example is watch dogs from ubisoft. If they wouldn't have pushed the game back it would have been a huge mistake. They got a lot of *** from people but I feel made the right call.

in the end man, pushing something back is never the wrong decision as when it's released people will appreciate it more, haven't seen many instances where this isn't the case.

the real problem as we know, as in a lot of situations boils down to $$$$$$. push stuff back costs more. they (publishers / developers) can't have that now...cuts into the bottom line.
  • thedemiseraphb14_ESO
Argh agreed. But they always forget that a better game sells faster and better and recoups those costs greater. We can dream I suppose lol

I'm really hoping they implement diminishing returns on loot in conjunction with a timer instead of only a simple timer system.
