I don't want to seem like I'm offending in any way.

But what's to gain from this Thread, yeah telvar can be frustrating but that's just IC?

Sorry again I don't want to seem like I'm insulting or anything, I just don't understand.

IC is meant to be a high-risk high reward system, that's why there's a telvar multiplier.

Having that much Tel Var on one character without spending it etc would be just unthinkable for me.

I just wanna know how you can grind IC for telvar 'for years' & still be lvl28 :P The XP gain in IC is huge, you can't enter till you are lvl10... & srsly, are you going to go in at lvl10 with 1 bar & limited skills to grind for tv? Just amazed it took so long for you to get hit!

A few weeks ago me and a buddy of mine were in IC and I said something along the lines of "Hmm I wonder if anyone ever runs around IC with over 100k tell var on their person, would be pretty crazy!"

I'm sorry that it had to be you friend. Ignorance is not always bliss.

I guess you weren't here during the IC event when people camped doors to kill players while they were still in a load screen.

I mean, let's be honest, nowhere is it stated that open world PvP is going to or even supposed to be fair. Some may argue that it's pretty much the whole point of it being open world compared to pre-defined arena style PvP. We have battlegrounds and dueling for those.

But even then, Morgha, you've admitted yourself that you play in a very uncompetitve way. One bar, hybrid builds, no impen and "5k DPS is enough for me". You've never had a chance for a fair fight with anyone even remotely competent in PvP. Regardless if it was a 1v1 or 1v10.

I agree, in any PvP situation, I expect to lose. However, I'd still rather see a one on one matchup, because then I can at least fight back a bit before losing. Getting ganked by 8 guys while using a skyshard... especially when I specifically didn't interrupt the guy who then interrupted ME... just disappointing.

I mean, if I'm a max level player with lots of experience with PvP, and I see a low level character who is using a skyshard... first of all, I'm not going to be a jerk and interrupt him using the shard. I'll wait a moment for him to finish, THEN I'd attack... and KNOWING that I can't lose, I'm not going to call on my 7 other max level allies to come in and gank the guy. But maybe that's just me. In my mind, the whole point of PvP is to be challenged, to COMPETE. I mean, I wouldn't go play a game of hockey against 5 year olds. What would be the point?

If I ever go into IC I make sure I have my banker hotbarred and bank tel var every 1000. Pretty simple way to avoid the aforementioned.

You can’t use the banker assistant in IC...

So, I thought I'd come here and vent a little, while expressing some thoughts.

I took my L28 Templar into the Imperial City today. He had been working his backside off for about 2 years gathering Tel Var stones, killing off Daedra and the like. I rarely ever saw other players, and usually just avoided them.

Tonight, I was fighting with a couple of daedra as part of a quest line. It's a PvE quest line, even though it's in a PvP zone. While fighting the NPCs, I found I was also fighting a human player from the Aldmeri Dominion. Ok, I thought. One on one, this could be interesting. However, not only was HE max level compared to my L28, and about 500CP, but is FIVE other friends were also max level. So, they permastunned me and basically just killed me off while I was unable to fight back. What fun. I expect it was a wonderful challenge for them.

So, I lost about a year's worth of Tel Var stones, and carried on. I noticed I was near a Skyshard, so I made my way there. I saw a Dominon player using it, so I waited until he was done, then went in to use it myself. As soon as I started using it, he and his 8 friends all started attacking me. What sportsmanship. What fun.

THIS is ALWAYS my experience of PvP. Nothing but giant ganks and poor sportsmanship. YEARS of collecting Tel Var stones ruined, and NO fun had.

I know what people will say about this, and I really don't much care. I just needed to vent, and to express my disappointment with the lack of sportsmanship, and the lack of anything resembling a fair fight. This is why I don't PvP. I suspect I'm not the only one that feels this way.

What? Years worth? Haven't you heard of banks?
Pvp is pvp, don't go there if pvp behaviour annoys you. The whole point of this type of gameplay is to kill other players. SMH...

He didn't know you could deposit anything other than gold in the bank and neither did I, until I read this.

I don't know if it tells you now(?), but when I started playing there were no tutorials and it is extremely easy to not notice the tiny arrow next to the currency, when you select Deposit.

Fortunately, I don't PVP in this game, so it didn't matter for me.

He lost almost all of his Tel Var Stones - that is what he is, primarily, complaining about.

Yes, he also has to deal with the perennial disappointment that some people don't choose to have any dignity, or honour, when they set out to gank innocent low levels, in groups.

However, the primary issue here is that he lost most of his currency; as the game doesn't (or didn't) bother to make it clear that you could bank it.

I mean 6 v 1 ? Do not expect to survive even if you are a max lvl ...

Just take enough Tel Var to get the 3 multiplicative bonus and then when you get 10k go to put them saf on the bank...Any ay, im sorry to hear that it happend to you, it s the price for playing in this area and in my opinion it is what it makes it so intense to play in ! :)

If its not fun, then don't do it. If one goes to PvP area getting killed by OP players or groups is to be expected and fair. I myself don't like questing on PvP areas and dislike PvP with power progression in general so it's very deep in my todo list.

As for not knowing one can bank telvar, one can't know everything but still, ignorance is just a handicap, not an excuse.

It might have been better if the bank had a list for each type of currency. Right now, it has a tiny little arrow indicating a dropdown menu, that's almost invisible, even if you're looking for it. If each bankable currency had a separate slot you could click to add to the banked total, that was always visible, then I'd have known the bank could take Tel Var stones. I had no idea I could also put Alliance Points in there as well.

Perhaps something they can make clearer in a future patch.

You should try fishing in these areas....

I just wants the fisheys!!! But in serious note I can hold my own in PvP, had one dude try and gank me while at a shard once, killed him and got hate whispers.

I was minding my own business thank you very much! -nose snort-

Other times when it a grp of 5-6 hurdling at you, sometime I can't be bothered and just stand still and let them kill me. Way quicker so I can get on with farming.

I lost all the Tel Var you got from the dailies when I first stepped into IC, I think it was even around 50k. The game's terrible at telling you stuff like this. But hey, that was 1,5 years ago, water under the bridge. IC can anger me immensely but I do enjoy it, and I'm saying that as solo PvE player who pops in there from time to time, only to inevitably get turned into mashed potatoes. There's something really fascinating in dark, narrow sewer tunnels and bleak, dimly lit ruins of the city. I feel like a guerilla fighter behind enemy lines, looking around every corner, sneaking around and generally just trying to survive. Danger can literally be everywhere nd it can be very exciting. The first time I safely navigated the sewers from AD base back to my own EP base was truly thrilling and I had a great feeling of accomplishment. I don't focus that much on the Tel Var, it's hard and boring to farm them in large amounts but I do enjoy the overall atmosphere and the feeling of dread that accompanies the exploration. Really, I'm not trying to bash, but try changing your attitude and maybe you'll find the same enjoyment in Imperial City as I did.

Actually, I'd love to see the Imperial City (and all of Cyrodiil) as it is when there's no war, just as a regular zone. There's some truly spectacular art in place, and so many people who don't want to PvP will never see it. But, that's a whole other thread.

Why carrying so many stones on a low level?! You should know that when you get killed by another player in IC you will lose half of the stones you are carrying...

Sorry that you learned it the hard way...

PS - No one from other alliances is friendly in PvP areas specially if they can loot you. In PvP I'm only ignored by others when I'm fishing. I also only don't engage fight with someone who's fishing.

Why in hell were you carrying so many stones? *(Edit for answer.)
    That's the first problem.

2nd problem, you expect a fair fight in pvp. Its faction based and you should never expect a 1v1.

I'm also curious as how you collected that many TVs and are only at level 28?

You cant queue for pvp until lvl 10. Doesnt add up.
