Won't affect RP as much.
Great point Tequila, so many people in this game are just casual questers so they don’t understand or care about what end game players have to go through in pvp and trials so they try to dismiss their complaints.
If we had just stood together as a united community they would have fixed these issues years ago.
Difficult to stand together when players not having any issues are patronised and insulted by being called RPers, casuals, questers, housing fans and crate buyers the whole time. They're also accused of lying and not playing the game - as per the comment you quoted. The fact is, as you say, that it is primarily an endgame issue that affects players in PvP and trials, but if those players want support from the rest of the community I suggest they quit all the patronising insults. They're not the only people who "actually play the game", believe it or not.
Then they should stop coming in taunting they don't have problems implying nothing needs done.
Particularly PC players who have no idea about the blue screen situation on PS4.
This thread was begun by a PC NA player, it's not to do with the PS4 blue screen issue which is entirely separate. No-one is taunting anyone, it's a discussion forum and people are entitled to discuss it.
When people claim that everyone has these problems, it is reasonable for those who don't have the problems to say so - especially when as in this thread those who say they don't have the problems are being accused of either lying or not actually playing the game. The OP is requesting that ZOS rebuild the game from the ground up, and it's perfectly reasonable for those who don't have any problems with it to reject that argument.
TequilaFire wrote: »So those that don't have problems think that problems shouldn't be fixed for those that do?
I admit that the OP is a little overboard as the game doesn't need to be rebuilt from the ground up to fix a memory leak.
As to the thermal problem theory, it is certainly possible but the PS4 typically shuts down when overheated to protect itself not give an app crash screen. Also it is interesting how 6 of 12 people in a group all go into thermal overload at once.

I haven't seen any caps lock either.
Don't preach to me about programming either, I was in product development for 30 years.
Now I can game all day.

What lag? I don't get any.
I do get an occasional disconnect, maybe a couple per day, nothing I can't live with.
Have you considered your internet connection/ISP?

Earlier today in Cyrodiil on PS4 NA
AD and EP had an Incredible battle at Drake
It was amazing...pushes and retreats on both sides
Amazing gameplay with no lag or bluescreen
I haven’t had that much fun in years
And for a moment I thought...
Things are Working
This is the Cyrodiil I miss
Than I d/c’d...
Lag has been horrendous on PCEU all day.
Been doing Dragons and there are spikes of several seconds (where the screen freezes), every couple of mins.
Final one DCed me.
Interestingly, that was the first DC all day (which is unusual), despite the lag being the worst it's been for a while.

Actually PS4 has issues with bluescreens constantly with this game and others. I could post enough links in this thread from the last 3 years about ps4 bluescreens to give you carpal tunnel from clicking links. And none of the PS4 bluescreens were happening before the memory management code was changed.

Nobody thinks that it should not be fixed. The point is that anyone with half of a brain knows that they are doing everything they can to resolve it already, as has been stated in multiple places and they even have a roadmap listed for upgrades and changes.
People come here with their caps lock on and rage because they believe that it is just some kind of magical pixie button that someone in an office clicks and BOOM everything is better, but it does not work that way because it is a digital butterfly effect and every change can have ripples that effect other parts of the game. It takes time. Those that have been around since the start know how far the game has come.

I do not have lag problems, d/cs or other issues. My friends do not have these issues except a random instance here or there. None of the 1500 plus people in my guilds complain about it in guild chat that i see. There is not a mega thread on the forum with 200 plus unique posters claiming there is a problem. The problem comes from a handful of the population.Actually PS4 has issues with bluescreens constantly with this game and others. I could post enough links in this thread from the last 3 years about ps4 bluescreens to give you carpal tunnel from clicking links. And none of the PS4 bluescreens were happening before the memory management code was changed.
PS4 is a horribly designed system, which i must say is surprising for Sony. The amount of memory is far to small, its shared between the CPU and GPU. The CPU is a complete joke while the graphics card is more high end. The HDD is slightly faster than a 45 rpm record. They use AMD hardware, which as someone who use to build and repair PCs for a living, i can tell you is pretty much garbage. AMD loves to overheat and is very temp sensitive. Thread for thread it consistently underperforms against a intel chip by 20-50% depending on the generation in question.
The entire system is a disaster for gaming. Its a joke. They slapped a good graphics card( pro) in a system that barely functions and supports it and then said" look how good games look on our system!!! Give us your money!" They didnt even bother to at least use software to help compensate for it. 3.5 GB of the 8 GB of memory is reserved for the OS. And developers are only allowed a laughable page file on the stone age HDD to compensate for the complete lack of available memory. It has a 500GB or 1TB HDD, devs cant even get a decent page file to somewhat make up for the lack of system memory. On top that Sony basically cripples your ability to manage yours graphics on PS4 in order to improve perfomaance.
Then you have people post videos about their "poor performance" on PS4 and i cant help but LOL. They are in cyro, 20-30...50 people on screen spamming their buffs/rotations. Or fighting dragons in elsweyr with 50-100 people. Or in trial and the screen looks like a firework show. Not only does that 8GB of memory have to support the GPU to render all this, but it has to support CPU to do all the processing for it.
These same people never bother to question why only PS4 has problems while PC and Xbox only have a few random people here and there despite there being very little difference in the game between platforms. They are expecting their Toyota Corolla to perform like a Corvette Stingray and blaming it on the track when it doesnt. At the same time, they think that $300 console they bought 3 years ago should never need to be updated while failing to understand that the lifespan of an MMO that does not evolve is about 3-5 years after launch.
@jircris11 was right on many things. You can play through this game on PC in the order that content was released and it becomes increasingly more taxing on a system. Elsweyr is even taxing on my new PC and i designed it to handle this game. This game is a resource hog. We can blame it on bad code and some of it is. But if you actually bother to compare the game world to similar games you can see the detail and complexity means ESO just needs more resources.
Another thing Jircris11 was right about was proper ventilation. As i have mentioned, having professionally worked on computers, AMD processors tend to run hot and deal very poorly with heat. Processors, when put under a load, heat up. Intel has better tolerance for heat, but you need to make sure AMD stays cool.
People neglect to clean their computers and consoles. Even i do. I just spent two hours last weekend cleaning out my old main PC because i have not done it in a couple of years. The case fan vent was almost completely clogged and the CPU heat sink was completely clogged under the fan blades. I got enough dust out of my case to fill a shot glass.
Your PC or console needs the dust sucked/blown out of it. The fans and vents need to be cleaned with special attention given to fan blades as any dust on their surface reduces airflow, more dust less airflow. This should be done every 6-12 months depending on use and dustiness of environment. If you own a PC or console and have owned it for more than a year and never have done this, try it. It will probably help and make sure your system has at least 2 inches of clearance all the way around it( i prefer 4-6 inches) and is not in sunlight or near a heat source.

Why don't you go check the technical support for all three platforms and then tell me how many threads are made in regards to how bad people are disconnecting from the game and then say that it's somebody's else's problem

On the front page of PC there are less than 50 comments outside the one that's been open for almost a year and a half. In a year and half that's mustered a whopping 250 comments with a lot from the same few posters.
So out of 100,000+ players maybe a hundred are having issues? This is based on me following your wonderful advice.

It was actually a lot more over a year ago but since people have given up, thats why you see less. But yes, keep white knighting.
Totally agree, of course lag is unnoticeable to those which gameplay mostly consist of sick RP in Riften tavern, and then we get posts like "What lag?
Except, I have proper ventilation, have a SSD , and have even replaced the fan heat sink assembly thermal paste with Artic Silver thermal paste. My PS4 is not over heating and is not going into thermal shut down. End of.PS4 is a very well designed architecture and is not the problem here.
Walls of text about PC/console proper maintenance is not going to change the fact that there are definitely software problems.
And your opinion about the quality of the PS4 is just that, opinion.
And guys we are not talking about lag here that is another subject all together. The fact you think this tells me you dont actually have any knowledge about hardware or computer systems or the flow of information on such a system.PS4 is a very well designed architecture and is not the problem here. There are... most of the population outside of PS4 can handle it. Its the PS4 poor design that turns an annoyance into a migraine for PS4 users.Walls of text about PC/console proper maintenance is not going to change the fact that there are definitely software problems.
Upgrading your HDD to SDD will help some. But the CPU is inadequate. It is a low end workhorse that is better suited to be a taskmaster CPU set on a single and specific task in server system than the CPU in a gaming system.Yep professional opinion like your mechanics when talking about your car.And your opinion about the quality of the PS4 is just that, opinion.Except we are? The OP was talking about lag and d/cs originally and on PC at that. And guys we are not talking about lag here that is another subject all together.
You twist everything anyone says there have been just as many problems on PC and Xbox.
The point about the SSD was it generates less heat and consumes less power from the power supply than the original drive.
You write walls of text trying to prove how smart you all when in reality all you do is troll.
What has the OP got to do with it you devolved the thread into platform wars again and all platforms are created equal when it comes to lag.
No, i just take it as its said. You twist everything anyone says
Not true at all. Far more unique complaints on Ps4 than Xbox and PC. Unless you are reading different forums than i am.there have been just as many problems on PC and Xbox
The heat reduction will have been such a marginal improvement, you would not even notice a difference. The performance improvement comes from the much faster read/write/access times of the SSD which depending on the drives you are comparing can be anywhere from 2 to 15 times faster for an SSD.The point about the SSD was it generates less heat and consumes less power from the power supply than the original drive.
1) you dont have to read my walls of text or any of my post. Feel free to stick me on ignore. You write walls of text trying to prove how smart you all when in reality all you do is troll.
Its like reading comprehension isnt a thing anymore? Try reading the quote pyramid. I definitely was not the first to bring PS4 into this thread. That discussion was well on its way. More misdirected blame.... big surprise there. All platforms are created equal when it comes to lag? That doesnt even make any sense. What has the OP got to do with it you devolved the thread into platform wars again and all platforms are created equal when it comes to lag

Please fix your game ZOS. PLEASE.

Your trying to sound smart yet your so damn far from it every platform has been getting hit harder and harder by poor performance of this game each patch because the code is trash making it an development issue not platform issue or internet when 8 to 12 players in an group all disconnect all at the same time I'm sure 12 players internet all didn't fail at once and lets not forget PC/EU and all the issues there but i guess they all have microwaves for PCs
Not trying to sound anything. im married and self employed...i dont need to impress anyone.Your trying to sound smart
Some of it is the lack of bug fixes but its also the evolution of the game. As it was stated, on a higher end pc you can start in a base game zone and move through the game in order and see that the zones become more and more taxing on a system. If you bother to "stop and smell the roses" on such a system you can also tell that the zones have become more detailed and complex compared to the base game zone. I remember when Summerset came out and people were going on about how "pretty" it was. Elsweyr is a step up even from that especially southern Elsweyr Even morrowind is quite a visual improvement over the base game zones in visuals.every platform has been getting hit harder and harder by poor performance of this game
disconnect or bluescreen/client crash? they are very different problems. Disconnect could be server...but probably not. If the issues are server side then the server will drop loads of people. But it could be a couple of hops from the server and an entire group from an area such as west coast US for example could disconnect because they all go through the same hop... ZOS has pretty close to zero control over what happens outside of their game servers. If its client crash/bluescreen that can be due to memory issues and in fact probably is a hardware issue. ZOS has a bit more control over this if it is widespread. They can dial some things back so it isnt so hard on the systems but also standing in groups of a hundred spamming rotations in Cyro is a lot of PVPers causing their own problems. I run all over cyro and fight and only have issues when the groups get really massive. SO i avoid the masses and problem solved.when 8 to 12 players in an group all disconnect all at the same time
