FIX THE LAG AND DISCONNECTING!

Please rebuild ESO from the ground up. The disconnecting and lag is back with a vengeance with the latest "fix" patch.

ZOS has been telling us for more than three years they are fixing the lag and disconnecting issues with their patches, but every patch is a crap shoot and things are overall trending worse over time. If ZOS could fix the lag and disconnect with patching, it would be fixed already. Their only option is to rebuild the game from the ground up and not build in the bugs in the first place. ESO is the best MMO ever created, and has years left of active game play. Nothing else created thus far even comes close, but we can't play it because of lag and disconnecting.

Please fix your game ZOS. PLEASE.

What lag? I don't get any.
I do get an occasional disconnect, maybe a couple per day, nothing I can't live with.
Have you considered your internet connection/ISP?

I understand why that's your first thought. However, 90% of all players I know through guilds, etc. are suffering from uncharacteristically high amounts of DCs and ping issues. So it's definitely on ZOS' side.

They are? They are rewriting huge portions of the game. They gave a roadmap to explain this.
It's not an instant process. Wait for the roadmap before complaining.

I know you seem to think previous statements by ZOS somehow invalidate that roadmap but in this case, they are actually taking the time to do it right rather than slap a bunch of bandaids on the problem. How can I assume that with any degree of accuracy? The time it's taking them. It's about right for a serious sit down get it done code refactor.

If its NA my own friends, guilds list contradict yours, not saying it's not true but out of 600 people I have asked only 121 of them have connection issues half of them have multiple people on the same connection. Personally I gave ONLY lagged when the server completely gives up and dcs the entire population. Other then that irs been smoot. I'm wondering if it's a firewall setting, last windows update turned some previous things back on, force g me to turn them off again.

Definitely? Surely, if as you say, this is a game issue it should be affecting everyone and yet it clearly isn't. If it were it would be affecting me, everyone would be complaining, the forums would be lit up, all the time. There's no such thing as a game issue that only affects a subset of the player base, we're all playing the same game and we should all be experiencing the same issues. Even your 90% is too small, absolutely everyone is affected by game issues, but they're not.

This issue seems to affect select people, makes me wonder if it's not addons or overclock related, my pc is no means top of the line. It was a 700 dollar prebuilt 4 years ago, yet runs eso on high at 60+ fps 88-100ms in cyrodel. Addons such as mm ping the server once every .5 seconds thus it causes a memory leak is paired with others if the same nature, I know there is a pvp feedback one that does it as well as a raid tool.

The only way is to hit them in the pocket. Stop your ESO Plus and store purchases. I have done so ages ago.

Great point Tequila, so many people in this game are just casual questers so they don’t understand or care about what end game players have to go through in pvp and trials so they try to dismiss their complaints.

If we had just stood together as a united community they would have fixed these issues years ago.

Difficult to stand together when players not having any issues are patronised and insulted by being called RPers, casuals, questers, housing fans and crate buyers the whole time. They're also accused of lying and not playing the game - as per the comment you quoted. The fact is, as you say, that it is primarily an endgame issue that affects players in PvP and trials, but if those players want support from the rest of the community I suggest they quit all the patronising insults. They're not the only people who "actually play the game", believe it or not.

A bit late, but it's all on EU for me, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was tied to EU again.

It never affects 100% of people. That's not how it works. It's not like there's a random bit of code that suddenly debuffs the whole player base. It's an intricate issue where servers are overloaded and it starts showing. A majority of people suddenly having the same new issue, at the same point in time, despite being in different countries with different service providers just doesn't add up to all these people suddenly having the same problem that's not related to the servers. You don't need to hit a 100% for that. It's just too many people at the same time and in the same way to be based on ISP/PC issues. Especially considering that it's things like 999+ ping for minutes at a time, getting kicked back to login screen (Booted from Server issue) and the like, which is very noticable when you go from never having it to suddenly having it all day.

I have to agree that the lag is worse, the disconnects are worse than ever. I've had many more than I'm used to having, some of it is admittedly down to my internet provider (I shall confirm this once I switch providers.) however, since I'm not the only one experiencing severe lag, even in dungeons. I can assume that isn't just me.

Yes I used the term casual quester and I’m not sure how that’s an insult, but completely rejecting other people’s problems for years just because it doesn’t affect their style of gameplay is insulting. It goes both ways let’s work together so we can keep this game working for years to come for all play styles.

It IS affecting everyone in PvP. Most every PvP player IS complaining, and the forum IS lit up with complaints.

I play on PC NA and have no issues most of the time. My ping is typically between 75 and 120 with 85-95 being average. I did get a lag spike tonight( Jan 4 technically) of about 400 ping for a couple of minutes. I sometimes get small lag spikes late at night. I play through steam.

The lag spikes dont bother me. I have over 2 dozen devices on my wifi that auto update. A lag spike is likely an auto update so i only investigate if it lags for a prolong period. Unless the masses are complaining about lag spikes and such, the problem is going to be between point A and point B, not point B.

We post that we dont because for some reason ppl who make these post claim "everyone" has these issues when it's not true. As for ps4 bluescreen I have stated MANY times what causes it, it's the fact with elswyr that the game draws more graphical power as well as processing power (can track the difference on pc easly) this the system has a hard time providing it especially if it's an older ps4. I hit a new one a month ago and it has not blue screened NEARLY as much. I also moved the ps4 to a more open location and put a small fan on it to help it deal with the excess heat.

I agree, but the difference between us is that I don't agree with someone saying that these problems "affect everyone that tells the truth and actually plays the game" - which you considered to be a great point.

There are plenty of players who tell the truth and play the game but who do not suffer significant performance issues. Plenty of other players do suffer those problems, but my point is that if they want the support of those who don't experience the issues then they need to stop insulting them - for example by accusing them of lying or not actually playing the game.

That us incorrect there have been posts nade about brick and bluescreen since elswyr. as for the everyone claim just freaking read the posts, unlike mmos I won't hold your hand through it all and if your unable to comprehend the basics needed to participate in an actual conversation then I don't know what to tell you. Do a search read the first post in each one, majority claim that EVERYONE has lag or dc issues.

It affects everyone that tells the truth and actually plays the game.
    Won't affect RP as much.

Then they should stop coming in taunting they don't have problems implying nothing needs done.
Particularly PC players who have no idea about the blue screen situation on PS4.

Please show me where the claim everyone was used.

Whatever, like talking to a brick wall gonna laugh my ass off when they fix it and everything runs fine on the same PS4 that is having problems now. And basics of a conversation does not include agreeing with you.
Now post and get the last word in. ;)

This thread was begun by a PC NA player, it's not to do with the PS4 blue screen issue which is entirely separate. No-one is taunting anyone, it's a discussion forum and people are entitled to discuss it.

When people claim that everyone has these problems, it is reasonable for those who don't have the problems to say so - especially when as in this thread those who say they don't have the problems are being accused of either lying or not actually playing the game. The OP is requesting that ZOS rebuild the game from the ground up, and it's perfectly reasonable for those who don't have any problems with it to reject that argument.
