The whole "you must complete the previous quest before you can take another" is a BAD idea given your list of quests.

Like, seriously, say I can't devote enough time to getting my 50 salmon except in spurts over a couple days. Thanks, that's a couple days wasted from your monthly limit and time that I can't get back.

Or...I can spend 5 points to skip the quest so it doesn't suck up my available time to do quicker quests. Yeah, that's amazing design right there.

This might possibly be tolerable if your quests were all in the 10 to 30 minute range and had a much shorter or no cooldown at all. With only being able to do one at a time and require completion/pay to skip, the cooldown is just dragging out the process. Instead, you've got some on your list that you expect to take at least an hour or more than you intend to completely block progress until completed or paid off.

The real hurdle in advancing up your tiers isn't whether or not you can do the content. Its whether or not you have the time to complete your suggested quests.

Your system works primarily for players who:
    A. Have at least several hours to play a day
    B. Want to spend their time doing a random mission that might take hours.

(That "fence 100k worth of items" elite mission, for example. Unless you have multiple characters with TG and fencing passives unlocked AND the time to hunt for blue items, there ain't no way you are getting that one done in a single day due to the fencing limits. Such an unrealistic time gate.)

    So a Battlepass? Nah.

Just do Warframe style log-in rewards and stop giving away junk only absolute casuals and new players can use.

Im sorry would you like some gold trial gear as reward? I dont know if i can hand it to you up their on your pedestal. Wait... let me stand on the back of these filthy casual mongrels. I am pretty sure you are in the minority on what is "useful" like extra guild trader slots, furniture storage, long term storage, more storage in houses, crowns and crown gems... Yeah i would say you are in the 0.5% that log in for a very specific purpose and ignore the other 99% of the game and filthy casuals in it.

Yes, there are only two options we can have. Gold trial gear and crownstore poisons. Nothing in-between. Sure thing. From your long list of stuff I personally am interested in exactly nothing.

I've mentioned Warframe log-in rewards for a reason. They've managed to make them exciting for new players and useful for veterans. Can you imagine? Here are some ideas:
[1] Some upgrade materials every now and then. Imagine how happy some people will be if they can get a chromium plating or 1-2 iridium ones? [2] 200 rubedo or whatever else for crafted sets and crafting writs. [3] 10 Columbine or any other plant so you can make a pot or posions you will actually use and not DELETE? Or even better 3-5 of every plant to make some popular potion? Useful for veterans, teaches new player a cool recipe they can use. [4] A random chapter from some rare-ish motif? A random green Murkmire furniture blueprint? Can be useful for anyone and can encourage that new guy who got his first page of some dungeon motif to go farm it to complete the collection. [5] A couple of transmute crystals? [6] A riding lesson? [7] And yes, even like 100-300 Crowns to encourage people to get more and buy something from the Crown Store.

They definitely can offer small rewards that are more useful than ten exp scrolls for someone who has 1000CP and 18 characters.

I numbered your list of rewards so i can address each "useful item" easily and correct my severe lack of oversight on providing you with something useful in this system.

1)So chromium plating goes for 75k to 100k. That would be an end of month reward as a reward. But your chromium plating is not useful to me. I got an idea! how about you get a bunch of gold instead and then you can buy whatever plating you want and i can buy something i want? Great compromise. Check... literally every example of rewards i gave in my OP for all that gold ;)

2)You can buy that with the gold or tel var both of which you can earn in this system.

    3)Same as number 2.

    4) can buy with gold or AP. I actually have unique( reward system only) style pages that are tradeable in my list of rewards. Far better than random motif that has already been devalued for years and gets hammered every anniversary event. Sell the style page by 10 motif pages you need.

    5) No thanks. I tell you what i am going to do. Im going to give you the opportunity to permanently increase your Transmute crystal storage so you dont have to carry around 30 Geodes until you get that piece you want and need to transmute. Ill leave filling that extra space with crystals up to you. Im going to go ahead and add that in right now for .... oh wait did that in my OP.

    6) How about a reading lesson instead? Try reading the rewards in my OP...Yep riding lessons are in there. We got you covered!

    7) What you want crowns!!!! Dont be absurd... Oh wait yep that was in the OP to. You can get crowns and crown GEMS!!!! as rewards . You can also buy crown vouchers with reward points( i was thinking a 100 crown voucher for 100 points ratio) and those are tradeable. So you can either use the vouchers or you can sell them.

    8) I wont bother to mention other useless trash items someone of your stature would not want to use, like storage items, craft bag access, extra trader slots( temp), or all kinds of things you can buy with reward points that are tradeable to other players who maybe dont have as much time as you. There is so much you could buy and so many opportunities to make money off the system.

I think of everyone when i create these ideas...except lazy self entitled people. They have to fend for themselves. But...i thought of you and as faithfully as Farmers Insurance( free plug)... i covered it. I wont leave you hanging, even if you didnt bother to read past the TL;DR ;)

See, you can come up with in-between kind of rewards! It's not only about Crown Store poisons and trial gear! Good job!

I just don't see why rewards have to be tied to a poorly thought out, grindy battlepass that you are proposing.

And btw, most things can be bought with gold. Should daily rewards just consist of ever increasing sums of gold then? Wooo, exciting...

imo, the current system is cumbersome and creates extra work every month for ZoS. Not to mention how often people miss rewards due to real life getting in the way. Essentially being punished for having a life outside ESO.

How to change it? I think gw2's solution works pretty ok, even if the rewards they provided in their version are lackluster and don't insensitive players to log in at all.

So how does it work: instead of having the rewards be date locked, have them be cumulative. Meaning, the more you log in, the better your rewards will be until you reach 30 days. After which it starts counting from 1 again.

This way, players that play a lot, log in a lot and (probably) spend a lot. will get rewarded. Now if the day 30 reward was a daily specific crown-crate. With its own set of rewards to try for. (Like the twitch crates, with their exclusive pet and mount) That would deff get people to try and log in as much as they can.

But the players that, due to life, miss a day. would not lose out on the reward entirely. It would just be a day delayed. Or more days for the people who have a lot less time to play.

Certain season specific rewards like outfits, decorations and the like can be put in the high number (for example, day 29) day slot without having to alter the rest of the list of rewards. And be acquired in a timely manner by all players, so active players won't ever miss out of the fun stuff that promotes new DLC or new expansions.

Only people that i see missing out on some rewards are players playing less than a week per month.

Now what about the rewards for the other 28 days? Things i've seen on the daily reward that are useful things fall into 2 categories. Cat 1: Useful to new players/new characters. Cat2: Useful to veteran players.
I would put things from Cat 1 in the first 14 days, with a light sprinkling of things from Cat 2.
And the Cat 2 things in the days after, with maybe a few things that come from cat 1 but can be useful to veteran players too.

So that kind of things are IN those categories?

Category 1: Experience scrolls, caft research scrolls, random cooking recipe, food, drink, mount books, gold.
Category 2: Crownshop food, crownshop drink, motif pages, dye consumable, furniture recipe, pvp currencies.

See what isn't on there? Poisons.
Why? Because i feel this can be a reason to buy extra crown crates for those that need em, And if you don't have the crowns for that, it should give player crafted poisons a boost.
It's also because i've read of so many players deleting whole stacks of the stuff. But other players use them a lot.

So, this would be my version. And because its not date locked, players that don't log in as much, would on the whole get less of the things in Cat1 than they do now.
Any ideas on what you would put in the diff categories?
What are Natch Potes? Can you eat those?
    I believe in Genie-Gina.

Daily rewards are a cheesy way to get people to login. I know it looks great on numbers. " Over 100k unique daily logins!" but it doesnt inspire people actually play the game which i would think is more important than getting people to show up for roll call.

It's not just about daily login numbers. What's the first thing you see when you log in? Daily login rewards came in around the same time as big fat in-your-face crown store login banners. They want you to see (and impulsively buy) the new shinies. Actually playing the game is of lesser importance. If you don't believe me, keep stats on how long it takes to fix a crown store problem vs. anything gameplay related. Average downtime for crown store is less than 30 min. There's a reason ZO$ is spelled with a $.

While you have a point on advertising, crownstore and ingame bug teams are TWO SEPARATE DIVISIONS. Ffs people please Kean how development teams work before making a false statement. The crown team can get fixes out quickly because its ALL the have to do, thus a lighter work load vs the team that has to fix the actual game, where they AND players break things in ways they never though possible. And yes they are a company thus they are here to MAKE MONEY selling chapters is a burst income vs crowns as a flow income. Those who think they don't care I invite you to look at other mmos, like bless online, age of war, and many others that come to us a mess, never show ANY improvements then close 6 months later.

Don't really mind the current daily reward system, would prefer a bit more variety in some of the rewards but that is about it.

Some days I only have time to log in, get the reward check my mail log out.

When I do have time to sit down and play, I completely ignore almost every single daily quest available/along with most event quests and play what I actually want to play with my time.

All this idea OP is proposing would do is add more grinding content that I would ignore, I don't want some magic carrot to make me play the game, if it came to me playing only for some reward I would move on to another game instead.

    I’d like daily rewards that

    - weren’t always the same shite (I now have way too many XP scrolls I can’t even give away...)
    - were a bit more imaginative
    - allowed me to choose a reward (and make it a decent set of choices)
    - didn’t try to con me into buying gamble boxes
    - weren’t all about pretending that people are logging in and playing the game (collecting a daily reward and logging off is not an indication of an ‘active’ player)

You do get rewarded for playing the game. It’s called XP.

I don’t need any more tedious makework tasks thanks.

The Crown Store is a small internet shop. The technology is basic, very well known and easy to fix, test and reupload. You’d have to be pretty stupid to not be able to fix issues there really quickly.

The game is way more complicated. You’d have to be pretty stupid to think you can fix, test and resolve significant issues in it quickly.

Agree with you entirely about the purpose of the daily reward screen though.

    More grinding? Please, no.

The thing about grinding is that it isn't a grind if

    1. You enjoy it and want to do it.
    2. You can take a break from it and do something else when Number 1 is no longer the case.

More opportunities for "grinding" means more diversity, and that means that when you get tired of doing something, and it becomes a grind, you can switch to something else.

For example if you leave for school or work at 7:30 am You can log on at 7 am and get the quest. when you get home complete it. grab your next quest at 7 pm. Complete it, go to bed, log in at 7 am get new quest, go to work, get home complete it, grab next quest at 7 pm, repeat. Technically you could complete all quests in 12 days

    Well that's a grim hell-vision.

Somebody has waaaaaay too much time on their hands.

Replacing a single login benefit with Daily Quests that could take hours. WTF?

Let's check some of the basics you gave listed here-

50 salmon. Not 50 rare fish, 50 specific salmon. from fishing holes that dry up after 15 fish of any type are caught. And you want EVERY player in the game to be doing this.

200 ore from nodes - where you get 3-4 ore per attempt on average. And the only thing you have in 'competition' is EVERY OTHER PLAYER IN THE GAME.

200 wolves ... what do you have against wolves?

The entire list laid out is IMHO ridiculous, because you are trying to equate a minor benefit for logging in with a system that would take over game play. Who is going to want to just PLAY the game when you have all this daily crap going on? You are trying to literally Ruin the game by Replacing it with all this busy work, and for what? No Good Reason Whatsoever.

Who wants to spend an hour or two just to get the Log In reward?

    Ridiculous

    IMHO
