Question regarding a future purchase.

A friend owns the PS4 disc version of the base game that came with Orsinium, Imperial city and such. I’d like to get my friend a bundle that includes morrowind, clockwork city, Summerset, Murkmire and Elsweyr/Dragonhold.

I looked at the bundles in the PSN store but only saw Elsweyr with Summerset and morrowind. And different versions of the same bundle. ....

Which one should I buy my friend? They are not a eso + sub and have only been playing casually but I’d like them to be able to travel all the places I can and play the content.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Morrowwind, Summerset, and Elsweyr are chapters. They are the big expansions that come once a year and when a new one is added, the old one becomes free with ESO+. They also have both physical and digital versions. So the new digital or physical copies of Elsweyr (not the upgrade) come with all 3 chapters as a bundle.

Clockwork city, Murkmire and Dragonhold are DLC that are sold separately. They are also free with ESO+ but without it you have to purchase them individually in the crown store.

So the only bundle option is Elsweyr digital or physical (not upgrade).

You can buy crowns and gift the DLC individually to your friend. Or you can buy them a PlayStation gift card to buy their own crowns. But there is no nice and neat bundle for the things you want to gift.

So I’m guessing the Elsweyr bundle with morrowind and Summerset and purchase the other separately or just pay for like a 6month sub and call it a day. Seems like the better deal is the sub.

If I am remembering correctly when I preordered Summerset for myself the text read “if you already own the disc version of the base game this is the one you want” or “if you already own the digital version of the base game this is the one you want”. Paraphrasing but that was what I remember.

The psn store doesn’t have that text and that’s why it’s a bit confusing. I just want my friend to be able to play the same content as me.

I don't believe summerset gave morrowwind. So its was similar to the Elsweyr upgrade. But Elsweyr has standard and upgrade, plus each in normal or collector's version.

The ESO official site does a little better at breaking down which gives what than the PlayStation store.

That isn’t want I meant. I was talking about the “buy this version if you own the disc copy”
or the “buy this version if you own the digital copy”. The PSN doesn’t have that text so it makes it a bit more confusing.

Summerset did indeed give you Morowind, but only if you pre ordered. There was a massive amount of whining on the forum about it, and zos never did it again.

Morrowind and Summerset are no longer Chapters. They stop being a chapter when the next DLC comes out.

To be more specific with what they said, there is an Elsweyr Digital Standard and Digital Collectors Edition that are not upgrades that come with both Morrowind and Summerset. The Upgrade versions of these do not. I am not aware of a physical edition of Elsweyr.

What OP needs to know is if someone has the base game, if they bought one of the non-upgrade versions of Elsweyr would their current game accept it and grant them the two mentioned zones without issue.
