A Guide to Socio-Economic Formations of Tamriel.

Hey, guys. A new guide of mine is written here. A Chinese Wall of text, though I might edit some spelling and pictures there without touching the essence. A huge one. I was not sure if the topic suited the Player Guides section, though it's not that "general" neither. Anyway, I hope it's fine at the current place for those who has ever asked oneself the same question on how do the tamrielic societies differ in terms of socioeconomic development. That guide is my try to see into the matter. Have a nice day!

Now THAT was very interesting! I like that you put it in Player Guides instead of Lore, because this is your take on the situation currently obtaining, and it may not be actual lore, or supported in actual lore.

I salute you - you took a lot of dry information, and not only made it readable, but intelligible.

Thank you for reading, Sylvermynx! Yes, you're absolutely right - it's just a description of the current in-game situation largely from the same in-game positions but using one of the IRL socio-economic method perspective to analyse the internal processes of all the ten races' societies, to understand what a "character class" is, what the Alliance War is, etc. Some points are surely absent in the lore and are not touched by the gameplay, but the method allows to make a model of it to understand how should it be set. It's like a puzzle - watching a certain part of it, you're able to understand what the whole picture should be. My thoughts on the Altmeri Sapiarchy are a good example of it: the lore seemingly keeps silence on the matter of what they are naturally, but the usage of that socio-economic method logic gives us a possible answer. This is why I was not even thinking of publishing it in the lore section, but could not decide between the General and the Guides one.

I don't know if the devs have ever had the intent to do it, but the universe they created fully reconciles the scientific theories of social development IRL. I was really surprised to realize that. I think we have to thank all those TES devs who have been creating the universe since the 90s. Thank you for your time taken to read that Guide and for your attention :)!

    Amazing reading as always :)
But I was a little bit disappointed that only Empire is detailed and other states/races are just classified by "economic formations" but without linked history&lore.

As with what the others have said; great read!!! Thank you for taking the time to run your studies and describe your findings in that novella.

Nicely written, doesn't hop around too much so it flows nicely, and also easily navigated. Thank you!
~There’s a positive in every negative. Sometimes the positive is harder to find than other times, but there is ALWAYS one there~

Thank you, mate :). I was also thinking about giving every event I wrote there a certain lore link, but the difficulty I met was that most of the events would demand several links to make for them. The text would be all "blueish" with those links, so I decided to make it just a text in order to give a starting point to their own research to those who would be interested. All the sources are in-game and on the uesp. Navigation was another trouble - the "anchor" and "goto" bbcodes do not work on this forums, as I've taken it. Though I might be just dumb enough to understand their proper way of usage. I've tried it multiple times before finally making the navigation the way it is done.

    Thank you all guys!
