I’d prefer a Group Finder that kept me from grouping with players like OP

Can’t bear dealing with elitists like him

If you think I'm elitist, you probably haven't play any other MMO... This was super normal in WoW (at least when I used to play it).

And it's amusing how people keep defending this, I know this game have the most casual community of all MMOs but this is hilarious 🤣

Your behavior you mentioned is pretty much what elitist behavior is. Maybe it does not equate to more extreeme examples you have seen elsewhere but when someone quits a group because they feel those players are beneath them for whatever reason it is generally termed elitist.

What is hilarious is you attempt to bash us because we accurately point out your opinion makes no sense yet it is you that queued up for a random knowing full well what that meant then came to the forums to complain the GF worked as expected.

The fact is most of us that want a more specific group take the few moments to form it ourselves instead. It is really a simple thing and takes such little effort. Much less effort than you have put into this thread.

Not sure why I should care what happens in other MMOs. Personally I couldn’t care less about any of them. I’m just judging you by what you say and the tone with which you say it.

I’ve found I have far more issues with self-obsessed uncaring types who feel that any dungeon is their exclusive domain and that the desires and needs of their three other companions is irrelevant.

I think it would be brilliant if they could all be stuffed into their own queue of festering specialness and leave the random queues for the rest of us.

It’s pretty clear to me that OP wants to place requirements on others in his group because he’s not very good and needs to be carried. A skilled player would A) Be queuing for vet dungeons and not normal; and B ) Could carry lowbies through a normal (non DLC) dungeon without issue

I mostly agree with you except for skilled players queuing for vet dungeons and not normal. Mostly because myself and a friend have queued with our alt accounts and duoed normal dungeons to get XP for the alts. I know some who solo the normal randoms to get XP for multiple alt accounts. All strong raiders.

So there is a reason why a very capable player would queue fro a normal random dungeon but it is mostly because they can handle it solo and has alt accounts.

You’re right, and I didn’t explain the entirety of my thought process in my post. There are plenty of valid reasons for a skilled, experienced player to queue for a random normal.

I should have expanded my post to say that a “skilled player wanting only to group with high CP players” should queue for random vets instead. There’s really no justification to set CP expectations for random normal queues.

My wife and I stopped running dungeons because we kept running into people like this. Telling us we were not worth teaming with. Funny how after people like that left we still managed to finish the dungeon. We decided to keep playing, almost CP500 and my question. When I get CP600, will you want me in your Vet dungeon run? ESO community needs to stop attacking and ignoring new players. My wife and I did talk about going back to WoW over the toxic vibe allot of players give off here. Never thought I would say this but WoW's community embraces new players much better. Fortunately my wife and I found a really solid guild. They have been great.

its what always happens. "veterans" or "hardcore" players think they are god's gift to video games. They think every other player is below them and that game companies should bend over and cater only to their whims.

They mistakenly believe that they are the ones keeping games alive when they are usually the minority. And these "we should exclude these types of players from this content" is a common ideology among "veteran" players. If any thing hurts mmo's its the veterans. Because they spend so much of their time trying to drive away new business (new players) under the belief that they are keeping a game afloat all by them little selves.

Its this schism between petty, immature "veterans", and newbies who are excited and eager, who do jump into things to learn.

I myself learn by doing something hands on. I don't study guides because that teaches me nothing. I learned dungeons in this game by DOING them. Veterans want to make that impossible, forgetting that once upon a time, they were a newbie too.

Queues are long enough as it is.

You can ask in zone chat or guild chat if you are looking for a specific level group then queue for random.

I like sometimes running with low level or inexperienced players. Keeps things interesting. When I run with guild we all know what we are suppose to do and what everyone else in the group will do. Gets mundane after a while. THen I jump in with a group that has the potential to be a complete train wreck and everything is fresh again.

The reason Queues are long is because not a single ''decent'' player use the Dungeon Finder... As people said above, right now is totaly random, the only filter are Roles. So most of the decent players have to form a group manually. Try to Que for DLC Dungeons and it can take hours...

But I strongly believe that if we could get more filters and options in the Dungeon Finder, all those players that have been forming groups manually, eventually will start using the Dungeon Finder.

For example right now its literally impossible going for an achievement run using the Dungeon Finder. Maybe if we could get a filter or something to indicate that we are trying to Que for a ''Speed Run'' or a''No Dead Run'' or whatever, maybe we could get the chance to be match with people with our same Goals... Right now this is impossible because its simply too Random, as I said, Not a single ''decent'' player use the Dungeon Finder...

So all the decent players return to the random queue but only queue with other decent players. How does that help the problem? It just means people learning the dungeons have a longer queue. And as others have mentioned high CP is really no indication of skill level. I have some characters that do miserable DPS because I haven't taken the time to learn a rotation on them yet. Filters will cause longer queues even if more players are in the queue.

If you want all CP players in your group, queue for a Vet Dungeon.

If the population is segregated it will only increase dungeon queue times.

And, having CP is no guarantee of player competency
This, during double xp loads of players run all their junk alts trough random normals to farm xp, this one done it herself :)
Note that this is not an issue if most of group is used to standard vet dungeons.

No with OP's way of thought you can be naked as long as you are above 810cp an be god 😆 😆 😆 sorry to say ive PLAYED with 300's that are better then lots of 810's because they understand things better and hungry to get things done lots of 810s think they know everything because they farmed cp in skyreach while paying 4k per run 😆 😆
