If they don't have full account transfers between PS4 - Ps5 and XB1 to Xbox then frankly they're going to lose tonnes of players.
I know I'll quit. Let's hope they're smarter than that. A short time window to clone your account over and abandon the old platform is a necessity.
I assume we can expect the game to be graphically equal to PC when it comes out on next gen.
I also (perhaps foolishly) moved from pc to x one x and am curious about the same thing. It would be nice to get a few more graphical bells and whistles but mostly 60 frames is what I want. I think it’s a given that if they do it, we’ll still be on the same “mega server” and thus keep the same characters. I wonder if they would hesitate to do it because it would be a big competitive advantage to play on the new box against people on the old one (60 FPS vs. 30).
But, even going from my 4K Xbox setup to my oldish pc (Nvidia 1070) at 1440, pc looks and plays better... but I have 9 traits researched on Xbox and 810 cp... can’t switch back!

Instead of quitting, yell at Sony or Microsoft. They'd be the ones denying account movement. Because the game account is tied to your PS/Xbox account, not the console. So there's no reason you couldn't use the PS4/OneX and still play on the brand new console.
And no, the game wont be graphically equal because consoles now are low end PCs.
But maybe on Xbox we won’t have anymore lag in cyrodiil?

Peopl do realize that the game will still be running on the same engine it runs on now, regardless of the console. ESO's engine won't be changing. So graphics, other than superficial ones are likely to stay the same. However, performance might see a slight boost on the next gen consoles. but again, ESO's servers aren't changing either, so you are likely to still the same server issues.
just because it's going to be on a new console doesn't mean the game changes.

Lags and delays and whatever are caused by the horrible game engine and ZOS‘ incapability of technical stuff / the potato servers, none of them occur because of lacking console specs.
The hardware will be a big step up from current gen consoles and most pc’s, so visuals should be very noticeably improved. The servers, however...the servers. Best not to think about that.

I mean the One X already runs the highest PC settings (without all the potential mods). The graphic update won’t be really noticeable because the game itself is lacking in that regard. You can push ESO to incredible graphics but need mods for that (sadly).

Is ZOS going to create a new mega server specifically for next gen platforms only?
No.
And that is the only way it could possibly matter for transfers.

So why can console players play cross platform on games like COD and Fortnite?
It’s a server thing when it comes to ZOS not Sony or Microsoft
We can’t even log into NA/EU servers with the same account let alone a different console. Is that someone else that isn’t ZOS’ fault too??
