What's Worse? Fake Tank or Fake Healer.

This is indeed a thing in situations where it's impossible to hit everyone with the same orb and especially in vSS fire boss where the offtank is miles away on the other side of the arena. The orb goes to the group. The spears go to the tanks.

Healer normally use luminous shards. Blazing spear is the dps morph of spear shards and normally used by dps.

Real question, when is the failure to complete a dungeon the healer’s fault? I try to heal dungeons, as a proper legit healer, normal base game one’s don’t count, but I tried Scalecaller Peak last night and we had like 9 wipes (3 per boss). I eventually decided I must be the problem at the poison archer guy and left the group.

I seem to have this problem with all DLC dungeons where CC or one-shot mechanics are a major thing, in this case it was either me being turned to stone and thus not able to heal, or people spreading out too far.

Pure healers are 100% unnecessary in all 4-man PvE.

Healers are for trials and PvP.

    Correct.

Fake healers are a blessing. Actually healers are a waste of DPS.

This comment ignores a large number of players in this game. It is really irrelevant what the better players can do and that is all the comment above does. Elitism at it's best.

Facts don't care about your feelings.

Have a problem with it? Then take your issues up with the developers that decided to make it painfully easy to go through dungeons without a healer. If self healing wasn't so accessible, and if offensive stats didn't increase the strength of your damage as well as your healing we'd be playing a more balanced game where healers would actually have a purpose outside of trials and zergling PvP.

That sounds like "the whole group does not understand the mechanics" problem. You should not be turned to stone if you know what you are doing (don't stand in the beam and kite the pokeball until its killed if it happens to be on you) and spreading out is a general symptom of poor mechanic knowledge.

I was the only one trying to kill the poke balls, while trying to keep everyone alive, I thought that there would (should?) be enough aoe skills in play to burn them. Ah well, least its not just me lol. Cheers

A fake dps is when you get someone joining vSS as a "dps" but keeps taunting the dragon and wiping the group. Someone in heavy armour and wielding sword and board, doing less damage than the real tanks.

This is a fake dps: https://www.esologs.com/reports/v47qaB9tn8JQyg3w#fight=11&source=3
    (player in question is anonymous)

We offered to just carry them through the rest of the trial so they could get their skin, as long as they promised to stop casting a taunt.

I said before in this thread that there is no such thing as a "fake" dps, that they're just "bad" dps instead... but after looking at this (since I play on console I'm not used to these fancy add-ons, pretty interesting to be able to see all those stats from a different player), I have to admit, I'm reconsidering my statement here... Why someone with gear like that, who didn't even attack for several minutes - if I'm interpreting this thing correctly - would want to run a veteran trial is kind of beyond me.

You and I must exist in alternate universes then, because I have definitely seen fake dps before many many times.

Are you on PC? Because, as I said, I'm on console, and we don't get to see other people's stats like this. You do, of course, realize when someone's a fake tank or a fake healer, but dps, that's a little harder to see. The only way I have to get a feeling for the dps the other dd does is to look at how fast the boss's hp go down, unless I want to actively watch what they're doing. Which I usually avoid because then I can't concentrate on what I'm supposed to be doing myself, so, yeah.

Then again, alternate universes... who knows, right? Those could always be a thing. ;)
This poor little Bosmer stealth passive had passionate friends and a big loving family!

There is little excuse for dps to be below 10 to 15k at any stage esp for stam,
Wear garbage until lvl 20ish then mechanical acuity qnd either hundings or julianos together at 20, 35, 50, and weanever your dps feels like its saging is only 6 trait which isn't that hard to get.
But you see it all the time.
once your at 160 almost any 2 appropriate sets should get you to 15 to 20k
Healing is not fun when combined dps in a vet dungeon struggles to hit 25k and have almost been ready to leave a few times,

Would have been better off on a solo build and pretending they were npcs

Reconsider if for another reason, too.

If DPS is awfully low and sustain is awfully bad, such that full heal and full tank cant or almost cant keep fake DDs alive, when they need constant healing, buffs and rezz without contributing anything, they can actually contribute negative DPS, because if tank and heal let them finally die and take down the boss themselves, they might do higher DPS themselves, since the fake DDs are not stealing it from the group.

I did a few dungeons myself, with real tank/heal setup, or tank/offheal, where letting fake DDs die and refuse to rezz them ended up as the more economic decision. Who needs a DD who has less DPS than the full tank? The body facedown does less damage to the run than the DD alive. Cant call it anything but fake DD.

    Fake Tanking
Because of fake tank, we have to consider balanced hybrid character.
Just like single action RPG style of Skyrim.

Protect myself without tank, Heal myself without healer, and average damage amount.
I know, it's a fake DPS. more balanced solo style build rather than off-balance.
Fake tanker keep making those players.

Maybe, oaken soul ring is cheap solution for the fake tank. :(

    Fake Tanking
You can do fake tank, if you can do DLC Vet dungeon by solo.
Otherwise, don't do fake tank at the random queue. Or go to group finder.
