Maintenance for the week of October 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – October 6
• ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – October 7, 6:00AM EDT (10:00 UTC) - 4:00PM EDT (20:00 UTC)
You are not alone. I have the same increase (PC NA).
The Three Storm Sharks, episode 8 released on january the 8th.
One mer to rule them all,
one mer to find them,
One mer to bring them all
and in the darkness bind them.
Some of our guildies were talking about this this morning. I personally saw a doubling of ping on PC/NA; I don't bother to look at the one on EU, since it's usually higher anyway. Normally I get 90-100 ms; I was seeing roughly 250 ms this morning on PC/NA.
My usual ping is 100-110 but this morning it is 275-325 for both my steam client account and zos client account. Checked local internet speed and it is the usual 325mps. I am only doing crafting dailies today and it totally sucks. If it is like this tomorrow when the event starts I wont bother lol
Friends and I are in the same boat. We both thought it was just our networks acting up until we began running ping checks and noticed everything EXCEPT ESO was functioning as normal. Been forum hopping for the past hour trying to figure out if we were all just super unlucky together before I found this thread.
And to add, yeah; 200 ping increase. Friends and I are usually right around 100, and now we cannot get under 300. Guildies don't seem to be having this issue, but clearly others are.
Since maintenance this morning, PC/NA has been unplayable with a 300+ ping in the red. I normally run at 70-90. Ping has basically quadrupled.
Honestly, I don't know how my Aussie friends deal with this. If I had to play with this kind of degraded performance I would find something else to do.
Yeah it's not just a display issue either, the game doesn't ever really run smoothly but it's very obvious the increase in ping displayed is actually a true increase in response time. Every ability I cast has a much more noticeable delay than usual, even opening and deleting mail has a pretty considerable delay.
The place I noticed it was in accepting daily writ quests and handing them in. I had to pause between each key press to read and accept each writ quest, and had to try to hand them in multiple times before they were actually registered. It doesn't sound like a lot, but going from being able to accept a quest immediately, to having to wait 5+ seconds between each dialogue prompt, was very noticeable.
PC NA, normally sub 100 ping but over 300 + red after today's maint, spikes up around 600. Not seeing any trouble or differences on other games/programs or with my internet service.
I'm getting ping around 900 now on PC/NA, it's pointless to play anymore. I think it's time to cancel my sub, just call it quits for ESO and find something else to play. It was a fun 5 years but it's over. ZOS is never going to fix this game.

It's exactly a week before Christmas. Vocus is trying to send it from their place in Cali to their place in Australia, then sold us over to akamei in Sydney Where it dies. More data pushed through....more $$. Underhanded stuff going on there
The biggest jump is going from vocus.com to vocus.net. from 54 to 213.

~There’s a positive in every negative. Sometimes the positive is harder to find than other times, but there is ALWAYS one there~
I'm having the same issue too!
Before this maintenance I had a ping around 200, after today's maintenance it's 400+++ ping in every map!
I just reinstaled the game, clean install, reset my conection, contacted my ISP... nothing helped!
It's unplayable at 400++++ ping, I hope ZOS do something!
ESO still using Akami trash that’s known to route to middle of nowhere for no reason and cause stupid amounts of lag
But they already got everyone’s money in their new gamble crates so do you really expect them to care about performance? Maybe a little before the next time they release stuff they want people to buy we can expect a decent performance.
Same thing here.. massive ping increase, 200 to 350 ms when doing nothing, probably wont' bother with combat, solid 150 to 250 ms increase over the norm
