Gold Buyers?

Basically if you say the game is bad you are asking for trouble, legally every negative thing said allows them to ban or terminate you apparently...? Is that correct?

Please report away you worthless Gold Buyer supporter. I'd enjoying seeing the moderators come and look at this thread along with all of your posts (including edits) in which you support those violation the TOS. :D

I never have said I supported violations of the TOS. You're in violation of the TOS when you do this by the way. Shaming/Bashing other players is in violation of the TOS.

    What do edits matter?

Also I have never supported gold buyers.

Not once. I have no idea where I ever said "I support gold buyers." I simply said they are customers as well.

    Are they not?

I made this thread to find a way to solve that problem and said that perma-banning was harsh and that we should find another way, but did not say I was firmly against it.

By all means perma ban gold buyers if need be.

I did say if my friends stop playing I will quit. They will probably keep playing even if banned they could appeal, or something else.

I have reported this post as well.

oops...I see what you meant now, and no I think that just means don't say something about the game that is not empirically proven true.

Get rid of gold spam, easy. Just offer the gold in the online store.

I couldn't care less if people want to pay extra so they can buy a horse or whatever. Doesn't affect me.

    The constant spam does.

    No.

    I LOVED PSU!!!!! <3

Also I agree an online gold store is pretty much a fail.

I like the game token thingie idea better that way you can gift your friends game time or trade them for gold, but they shouldn't be worth that much gold.

People shouldn't be able to cheat their way to rares that honest players work hard for imo. Otherwise the game becomes pay to win, and that is like setting sails for fail.

If they're serious about it, they need to take two steps:

    1) Ban sellers
    2) Warn buyers the first time, then ban them after a second offense

People who buy gold may not realize it's against the TOS, as nobody actually reads it. So give them a warning. Ultimately, however, you have to remove the customers to get the sellers to leave.

My thoughts exactly....but be careful they're people on this forum that will think you buy gold if you don't want them all perma banned the first time lol....not even EVE, or any other game does that. Pretty sure Runescape has a warn first ban after policy as well, but bans sellers perma on first offense. Sellers tend to be repeat offenders, buyers are clearly interested in the game and wanted a little(cheating) boost.

*Not defending buyers in this post just stating my stance and opinion, sorry if it irritates you.*

Buyers should be banned 100% if it wasn't for them there wouldn't be a market. these gold farmers would just get tired of spending money on accounts and copies of the game whenever they are banned. buyers= viable market = gold spamming/farming bots ruining the game.

They have to make a decision of what they want to keep in the long run. Bots, bot boss campers, guild invites from gold sellers, and gold spammers complaints are coming in more and more on the support forums.

Do they want to lose a mass amount of players due to this issue or do they want to lose maybe two handfuls as of right now?

Either way gold sellers and buyers are breaking the Tos if there is even a mention of griefing, harassment, and/or disrupting a player from enjoying the rights to the game and being able to play.

I don't buy gold, so I have zero tolerance to those that do and make the game less enjoyable due to those that do buy and cause gold sellers to flock to the game in herds with their bots, guilds, and spam (mail and chat).
I totally agree! I think if anything they should step up sniffing out gold purchases, and banning BOTH the buyer and seller, or at the very least taking away all gold and items acquired from that gold. Gold sellers are like drug dealers, they are only here because of the DEMAND, if they were not making money they would leave. Zeno has already banned multiple accounts but yet they continue to buy new copies of the game and spam gold sales, why? BECAUSE they are making a killing off of people that are BUYING the gold. Clean the kitchen and there is less incentive for the roaches to stick around.

What demand?! Honestly, what is this in this game that you can't afford?! You make a lot of gold and the stuff you could buy and not afford is almost non-existent. What do people need gold for?!

I make a METRIC CRAP TON of gold just selling my greens and blue in my guild stores and or the merchants around cities. I fill up on everything and anything I can get/stack, and then sell it all. Not to mention all the gold I get from questing. I have no idea how anybody doesn't have enough gold for the things they want and I agree with you.

I agree and disagree....I like the warning(take all gold away from them) then ban.
I will say this though....if it came down to it, and a warning doesn't stop the buyers I would say ban immediately. All depends on what Zeni wants to do though and wither way I really hope they fix this soon, because I'm getting so sick and tired of seeing these bots running around stealing chests and runes, and maps, etc. Not to mention the really annoying boss camping bots that never go away(grrrr). So yeah I agree/disagree with you I guess. Either way hope they do something soon, it's obviously bothering people(myself included).....fix soon plox?

I cannot express enough discontent for both sides of that horrid mess. Zero tolerance and equal bans for both sellers and buyers.

I do not support an game store either. I find it be a slap in the face and a complete lie from the mouth of the lead game developer.

"We will not have a cash shop!" - MF

If you offer gold for cash... then where does it stop.

The same for those stinking bots. You can't tell me they cannot track when one of those idiots teleports in and out of a game, right on top of a harvest node.

Where do the gold sellers get the gold to start with?
Words contained in posts, at which point I stop reading and will not respond...
Toon / Mana / WoW or any acronym following "In ___" /
Pets (when referring to summoned Daedra) / Any verbiage to express slang (ie, ending in uz,az,..) / Soul Stone
    ... to be continued.

I have no idea WHY people buy gold, but gold selling is a business, and IF there were no clients they would move on. As I said before, clean the kitchen and the roaches will crawl away...And IF YOU think that gold sellers are buying TESO, and getting banned, and buying another copy because they are HOPING to gain clients, think again... people are buying the gold and need to be punished.

Naa, that's not good enough. I think when the purchase is made, there will be a record of it, the person will continue to level their characters and play the game. I think the solution is rolling back their account. Taking away ALL money they have acquired, all experience, possibly even losing new characters. ALL rolled back to a point of time prior to breaking the TOS. Hit them in their checking accounts, and taking away all items, including a Vamp or werewolf bite is the BEST way to stop gold selling and buying. And second offense. perm-banned

Like most MMO launches, it will die down after the first 30 days, when the copies the fly by night sellers bought expire-
After that you'll still see it from "established" companies that have made their fortune in wow and branched out.
A lot of people don't understand the principles (or hatred) towards gold buying/selling.
So a poster above did have the best response, for Buyers a 1 Time warning With the Gold Removed, Sellers insta perma ban.

There were two fellas in The Rift chatting away in zone chat yesterday about how much money they purchased from gold sellers. One said that the website he buys from is touting 500k for 90 USD. Crazy.

I agree. Gold BUYERS are the issue. If people stop buying, sellers have to stop selling. Permaban first offense.

ETA: Buyers do not need to be "warned'. They know what they're doing is wrong, and if they don't, they're dumb enough to deserve the ban twicefold. Warning buyers is ridiculous.

I tend to agree with you that Buyers are the larger problem but ESO still needs to curb the spam. I'm not sure how Blizzard does it but I haven't seen gold Spam there in years so it must be possible.

Hope you reported those guys and included a screenshot of their story.

This is the only real course.... however, you must put a message, that pops up on the launcher warning players that buying gold is bannable and that the gold spammers in game are doing something wrong and that Zen is trying to get rid of them, inept as those attempts may be.

You have to ask yourselves, why are they not putting any warning for players/buyers to see?
