Paid for the most expensive version of the game, and barred from playing because Gamestop hasn't delivered my game (and won't until Wednesday). Seems like GS screwed you, not Zeni.
Nobody can blame you for deciding not to traverse the 17 pages of this thread and read every post. But, at the very least, you should have read enough to understand that you and your good fortune are a minority among hundreds.

So if it is taking a while for you to receive your copy then that is a fault of your retailer not Zenimax. And just so no one thinks its different with the digital. Some received their codes sooner others later depending on were they purchased the game because most retailers had the codes much sooner than the games impending release but were to wait until a agreed upon time and day to send them to their costumers. So again if you had trouble getting your purchase start looking toward the guy you purchased it from which in this case is more than likely not zenimax the developer.

You have to remove all .version files to your desktop, start the launcher, don't patch, close patcher, then return the .version files back where they came from. Fixes the problem. I refuse to sub to this sideshow. I'll come back in a few months. Oddly enough, when I finally lost it and ranted about how I refuse to pay to beta test their game, I got an answer almost immediately from a CSR trying to help. Seems like after this FUBAR patch, they're in massive damage control.

Looks like horribly complex directions are in my future, unless I decide to play Forums instead.
That sounds right to me, actually. I thought about that after I restored the .version files and got a play button that lasted long enough for me to hit it and get into the game.Someone was saying in the forums that those of us who are playing that way (without doing something complex) are not even operating the latest version when we play.

Too little, too late, methinks. I understand you giving up. I'm pretty much there, too. Only reason I'm still in the forums is because of you guys. It's just really disappointing to not be able to enjoy the game with you all, too.
This patch, plus the boss camping "fix" (read: ignore the bot problem and penalize real players) is the last straw for me. If they fix the majority before the end of my 30 days, I might play. But I doubt that will happen
