This is how I feel right now. Paid for the most expensive version of the game, and barred from playing because Gamestop hasn't delivered my game (and won't until Wednesday). It's almost as if Zenimax looked at every successful policy in MMOs then said "Yeah, let's not do ANY of that".

Seems like GS screwed you, not Zeni.

Seriously, am I not speaking English? Is what I'm saying hard to decipher? I just don't have the interest to argue this same drive by posting for the umpteenth time. If it's that important for you to understand why I blame ZOS, I have explained it, in detail, at least a dozen times.

I always ask that about a certain MMO that has be "re-out" for the last 8 or so months. TESO isn't NEARLY as empty or unfinished as that one was at its relaunch and still is now... It had WAY more severe server problems than this one has at launch, and it still has server problems, but it got over the most severe ones just like the MMOs that still operate today. Oh, and every patch they put out there is something really stupid wrong with it and they have to do more stupid emergency maint. Hotfixes galore. Gets annoying, but you just have to put up with little programming errors.

Yes, this one can use more things too, like say Craglorn group zone, other guilds like dark brotherhood and thieves guild, and as much of the nice things we saw from the single player games (btw most of that stuff can't make it into an MMO, period), but we already know that stuff is coming and much more. MMO's don't launch with 10 years worth of content....

You need to give MMO's some time after launch to see if they will amount to anything or not, not try to judge the launch. Every MMO ever made would have 0 subscribers now if launch determined their success. its what happens in the time after. 6 months is a good number imo; the amount of time I planned on giving it well before it launched. maybe make yours a little less if you wanna be all impatient like, but launch is certainly the wrong time for an MMO to be yay or nay, at least for patient folk.

But, if that doesn't do it for ya, then IDK.

Oh and btw.... this is directed specifically at you, but really at anyone totally impatient with MMO's at launch, not just you  I just wanted to point out there are other mmo's that I am waiting for beta to end myself really...

Hey guys, just popping in to check how everyone is doing. It seems that not much has changed where trolls and instigators are concerned. Don't worry. Such people are reported and I'm sure the mods will be on our side as long as we don't respond to their bating and start arguments. The most important thing to remember is that we know our situation, we know we are right, and if anyone doesn't understand then they can just get their comment points and run along.

Not that I am defending them but you do realize that they had no control on when the games were shipped to you only when they were shipped to the retailers which happened a while ago. So if it is taking a while for you to receive your copy then that is a fault of your retailer not Zenimax. And just so no one thinks its different with the digital. Some received their codes sooner others later depending on were they purchased the game because most retailers had the codes much sooner than the games impending release but were to wait until a agreed upon time and day to send them to their costumers. So again if you had trouble getting your purchase start looking toward the guy you purchased it from which in this case is more than likely not zenimax the developer.

And Zenimax has no say in how and when their game is to be released to their customers?! No way. They have contracts with the distributers and if the distributers don't deliver, it's also a fault of Zenimax.

Friend bought me the limited edition TESO shirt at PAX East this weekend.

I'm almost ashamed to wear it right now. I could use it as a playoff beard though and take it off once the servers come back online and the game comes out of beta but I figure 3 months is too long to wear a shirt before it gets grody.

This is what happens when "downtime". Though, why folks feel the need to come to the customer support forum and post inflammatory comments on threads that don't effect them or that they haven't bothered to read about baffles me.

I'm happy to see the updates from those of you that have been able to get in game. I'm very sad for those of you that STILL haven't made it. I'm happy that new people are finding this thread, though sad that they are finding it because they are unable to be in game.

It is disheartening to see this continue to be an issue. For those of you still waiting, just know that most of us here know your pain, we've been there and some of us have come out on the other side. We graduated from Forums: The Elder Scrolls Offline to *actually* being in game. A few were helped along the way by CS, but a vast majority had to simply wait it out.

Comments like the one above just show that there are folks that are a) bored and/or b) just feel the need to post on a thread without doing the due diligence to understand what the issue being discussed really is. Like @Phyrdrin‌ said, let them get their comment points and move on.

Personally, I want to thank many of you here for your thoughtful posts, not just in this topic but in other threads and areas of the forum. I know that if I see a thread has a comment from @Phyrdrin‌ , @gharms‌ , @cheeser123‌ , @Kgee‌ and many other regular contributors here, I tend to take that thread a little more seriously.

Many hugs and <3's to you all. May your lives be full of unicorns and rainbows and other awesome s***.

Looks like @gharms was just pushed over the edge. That's one down, Zenimax. How many people have to be lost before this game is fixed? People should not be paying for a game that they can't play, or cannot progress in, and people are paying a lot of their hard-earned money for this game.

I fully intend on keeping this thread going until the issues plaguing this game are either properly addressed or resolved through an actual fix. Neither of those have happened yet, but I remain hopeful. At this point, I am glad that those Prepaid Time Cards didn't make it out at release even though Zenimax said they would, so I wouldn't waste any more of my money and my free(ish?) 30 days wouldn't be burned on broken quests and a barren, bot-stripped, wasted Tamriel. We paid the money, we have a voice.

@Phyrdrin‌ , @cheeser123‌ , @Kgee‌ , @Calistrasza‌ , @Shanna‌ , I'll stick with you five for as long as I can, or as long as my will to hope in this game remains.

@gharms‌ deserved better from you, Zenimax, and had every right to leave. I have the feeling that gharms is going to be one of the first of a mass-exodus from this game if this keeps up.

    thanks @CrimsonThomas :)

Now I can't play because I'm receiving an error message about being able to run the game...and that error is demanding that I contact customer support. UUUUUUUGGGGHHHHHH.

*UPDATE: I read the post here: forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/79631/100-fixed-tested-zenimax-s-solution-to-patch-fix-gm-posted-error-209#latest (after being frustrated enough to make my own without reading through the existing threads.) I was all set to try these horribly complex directions, but then found that simply shutting my launcher once and reopening it FIXED THE PROBLEM for me.

Good luck to the rest of you!

@Shanna were you getting error 209? I got that immediately after the patch, and did the close/open thing a couple of times. Seemed to be working fine when I went to work; had my husband cross check earlier this evening, also running fine.

I go to log in upon getting home from work, and Error 209 is all back up in my face. Boo.

Looks like horribly complex directions are in my future, unless I decide to play Forums instead. :)

You have to remove all .version files to your desktop, start the launcher, don't patch, close patcher, then return the .version files back where they came from. Fixes the problem. I refuse to sub to this sideshow. I'll come back in a few months. Oddly enough, when I finally lost it and ranted about how I refuse to pay to beta test their game, I got an answer almost immediately from a CSR trying to help. Seems like after this FUBAR patch, they're in massive damage control.

Too little, too late, methinks. I understand you giving up. I'm pretty much there, too. Only reason I'm still in the forums is because of you guys. It's just really disappointing to not be able to enjoy the game with you all, too.

Best of luck. If you happen to play WoW, I'm on both EU and US servers, so you can probably find me there at some point. Just PM me here and I can give you my btag. As an aside, I was going to give up WoW for ESO. It pains me to say I'm glad I didn't.

Yep, that one. Popped back up this morning for me, too, but a close/reopen did the trick yet again. Someone was saying in the forums that those of us who are playing that way (without doing something complex) are not even operating the latest version when we play. Hope that doesn't come back to bite me!

That sounds right to me, actually. I thought about that after I restored the .version files and got a play button that lasted long enough for me to hit it and get into the game.

I've still got error 209, and the only way it seems to truly fix it, since I've tried everything else, is to re-download the game. Nope.

Do...do they even test these patches on an internal test server??? :\

That is one of the most disgusting and enlightening testaments I have heard about Zenimax's customer service, @gharms‌ , that they're only truly willing to respond once their flow of money is threatened. Something tells me that this game won't be getting better any time soon, if that is Zenimax's attitude about the matter.

We should all be very, very, angry about that.

"Thanks for the $100, now get out!" Is only ringing more and more true. Prove me wrong, Zenimax.

Yeah, I think this is just Zenimax CS, finally realizing what a huge s. storm they have created, trying to take a more active role on the CS forum. What a novel idea!

Anyway, I think as some have already said, it may be a little too late for them to try to save face now. The damage is done and nothing has been offered to counter that massive wave of un-satisfaction that has been swelling. And when I say offered, I am not just talking about free game time. That is always their only go to solution. How about a free in game pet or maybe they could offer everyone a crafting bundle that has mats to improve some of our items to Epic quality.

Of course, continue applying Raid in copious amounts until a majority of the bugs are dead.

Just the simplest things for our trouble would do wonders Zenimax. Are you listening? Hello!

To my own chagrin, I actually called this before I bought the game.

The price tag + sub fee was very high.. and seemed like a grab at the cash while they could still milk the IP, then when the Imperial paywall was announced, it was all but confirmed to me that this would be a short term endeavour to hoard money then run for the hills with the wailing and gnashing of the community a distant sound behind them...

I didn't realise it would be THIS short term though... No progress since beta.

Giving people some free time is always a good go-to solution, provided the game is functional. Those two go together, and should never be offered apart from one-another. EA tried to pull a "Double XP" week with Battlefield 4, but barely anybody could play because it was still in such a broken state.

Before any reparations, if any, are given (yes, no, I don't care), this game needs to be fixed. We didn't pay $110 to alpha-test The Elder Scrolls Online, and our $15 monthly subscription fee is more than just loyalty money. Where is the support that Pete Hines promised us our subscriptions would be paying for?

Zenimax, don't be EA. Listen to your customers. We're the ones who are going to keep your game alive, or be the ones who sever your flow of income. Many of us fans are not so forgiving of being burned by companies hell-bent on simply making a profit off of us, as we've been burned by greedy game companies before, so don't be a greedy game company. You can still make this right, if you act now.

I didn't realize that they introduced any kind of "fix" to this at all. I'm still having trouble completing quests because people are spawn camping bosses on bots. Then again, it's not always bots - sometimes it's actual people. Doesn't make it any less annoying when trying to quest or complete exploration stuff. These guys will sit there for hours and 2 shot these things the moment they are up, leaving me to sit there and camp it with them for 20-30 minutes until I can get finally get credit. This system is bogus, in my opinion.

I'm surprised people are still having issues getting their pre-orders. I had no issues with mine but I got the regular issue from Best Buy because the Imperial edition was sold out.

Issues like this, no voice chat, and all of the bugs tend to send a bad message of what we can expect going forward. Best of luck.
