Merdyndril is Overpowered and Bugged

So.. Merdyndril, in Deshaan. A "level 18" (ROFLPIMP - 180 more like it) boss, that is WAAAAY overpowered, and which you are forced to solo. And which also is bugged, meaning he can't be killed... WHY DO WE NEED THIS FORCED SOLO-ONLY CRAP??? IT IS AN MMO!!!!!

The quest is labelled as level 18 - so it should be completeable at that level!!!!

He's pretty nasty at level, I agree. Very rude surprise. But you're mistaken about him being solo-only. Ask for help. Or just wait outside the door until someone shows up. That's what I did. The player I grouped with was considerably UNDERlevel for him, and it didn't matter - with two people it was a cinch.

That's what I did, the other person did NOT show up, definately separate instances!!!

I hate to sound like a level one tech ("Is the computer plugged in, sir?") but ... did you form a group with them before going in? If you group, you will enter as a group. If you go in individually, you will be instanced individually.

I definitely did it with another person. I don't think I could have hallucinated that

LOL i normally don't report people for cussing because it takes a little effort to avoid letting one slip myself, but his threats of reporting people who aren't breaking rules made it too tempting.

Lol. My retired mother was able to do this and I highly doubt she even knows what f&^Ktalk is.

Watch the mechanics and learn when to use block and interupt and thay goes for every fight I seen in game.

If you are in a party and you cant see each other try this:

1) Press "p" for party window
2) one guy need to rightclick the name of the other in this window
3) Choose the option which transports you to the same instance.

Hi AngryNord,

Unfortunately I haven't been in Deshaan for two zones worth of content now so I really can't recall the Merdyndril fight. I do know that when I first started playing this game back in beta boss fights seemed impossible! I was wiping my brow after each fight thinking "wow this is intense". Since then starting fresh at launch I've grown up a bit - spent my skill points a bit more wisely, learned more about the game mechanics and leveled up a ton more before trying on solo bosses.

Anyways the point to all of this - pay attention to boss cues (if applicable), search the forums for tips (welcome), and if you don't at first succeed try, try again (and level up more!)

Also, if you use less caps and try to be a little bit more friendly I think you'll get a lot more helpful feedback. You might have to change your name to FriendlyNord though... and I'm not sure you can easily do that

im VR2 and hes too strong for me, broke ALL my equipment and cant be CC'd, which solo-bosses should be able to >:(

This is how i defeated this psycho (maybe he is already fixed). But sorry me i wrote it in russian (Im russian). Maybe ill translate it later ==> MERDYNDRIL (Kill Merdyndril the Alchemist at Obsidian Gorge and put an end to the Llodos plague)- думаю многим знаком этот Псих. Когда я с ним столкнулся, на 16ом лвл, у меня чуть кровь из носа не пошла.. Он меня вальнул быстро и безапеляционно. Не ждал я от него такой прыти. В общем, Норд пользуется контролем: станит вас, нещадно лупит, пока вы дремлете, и, после исчезновения стана, наносится урон (у меня треть хп снимало). Вообще не попадайте в эту гадость! всячески старайтесь уворачиваться от его кислотных ловушек. Попав в них, вы благополучно ловите глюки и на помощь, и так не в меру жирному норду, приходит адд. Адд хиленький, но противный, там и без него умереть легко. Так что, по возможности, избегайте эти зеленые круги. Попав в них, я включал бабу и бежал со всех ног.. В общем то, я ее и не выключал. У меня найтблэйд, пытался бить в ближнем бою - вообще не вариант, со всем уворотами, уходами в инвиз, у меня ничего не получалось. И вся моя тактика, в конце концов, пришла к тому, чтобы бегать как обосраному, уворачиваться от всех его ловушек и контроля, и отбежав на приличное расстояние, поливать его стрелами. Больше всего бесило, когда мой перс, пытаясь сманеврировать и ловко перепрыгнуть препятствие, спотыкался об какой - нить камень и ему смачно прилетало по горбу ковырялом. Плюс я использовал Strife из ветки Siphoning: меня лечит, его калечит (в общем тоже помогло). Так что с шестого, кажется, раза, дико гогоча, меня фурией вынесло из пещеры с победоносным кличем и, с чистой совестью, я продолжил спасение мира).. Надеюсь, кому - нить поможет, всем удачи!) all idea is permanentrunning) & dodging from his stans & acid areas, simultaneously trying hit him by range attacks (bow) & strife (siphoning). I defeated him on sixth attempt)
