The title.
I’m guessing it means I need to reinstall the whole game. But if I uninstall the game to reinstall it, won’t I lose all my progress and data?

It might be a placebo but since I started doing this, the game felt a bit healthier. But as for your question(if ps4), Sometimes it just wants you to have that much extra memory just incase or if ZoS reconfigured a wide reaching code it will need to redownload alot. This was a group finder patch so maybe.

I read somewhere ( not on ESO forums) that clearing the cache routinely, especially after patching games on PS4 can increase performance as well.

Well as a Ps4 player I can tell you its BS. Nothing that you do on your ps4 will increase performance. The only way the game will perform better is that zos fixes it.

Clearing cache and saved data can help with some lag. Mainly helps with many blue screens. Once southern elswyer came out I couldnt spend 5 min in there without a bluescreen. Then it got soo bad I couldnt even log into my toon in the zone. I cleared cache and I was able to get back on it and move my toon out of elswyer
