Why do I have a 107.84GB update?

The title.

I’m guessing it means I need to reinstall the whole game. But if I uninstall the game to reinstall it, won’t I lose all my progress and data?

Your data is on ESO's servers, like every MMO. If this were a single-player game then wiping everything would set you back to the beginning, but not so in this case.

I have a 29.18 GB update on Xbox today, so I can't play for a while yet either. :( Sadness.

If you are on console and that console is ps4, I honestly recommend redownloading game after patches on eso. That is you have speedy internet. It might be a placebo but since I started doing this, the game felt a bit healthier. But as for your question(if ps4), Sometimes it just wants you to have that much extra memory just incase or if ZoS reconfigured a wide reaching code it will need to redownload alot. This was a group finder patch so maybe.

I read somewhere ( not on ESO forums) that clearing the cache routinely, especially after patching games on PS4 can increase performance as well.

Between updates, glitches, bugs, and zos generally not giving a [Snip], i would say they dont give a *** about anything that gets posted here. Just a little venting carry on ;)

Well as a Ps4 player I can tell you its BS. Nothing that you do on your ps4 will increase performance. The only way the game will perform better is that zos fixes it.

Clearing cache and saved data can help with some lag. Mainly helps with many blue screens. Once southern elswyer came out I couldnt spend 5 min in there without a bluescreen. Then it got soo bad I couldnt even log into my toon in the zone. I cleared cache and I was able to get back on it and move my toon out of elswyer

It also shrinks the size of the game afterwards as well. When I reinstalled the game I was able to shrink the game down by about 20GB.

Im sitting here staring at my download progress cause its behaving unusually. My typical speed is 150mbps to 400mbps, but for some reason its having the huge fluctuations where it goes as low as 500kbps. Atrocious.

But just now it skyrocketed for a few seconds and my xbox said it was downloading at a whole 1Gbps. :o I've never gotten that high before.
