I realized something the other day whilst going into the Davons Watch Mages guild.

There are about half a dozen quest givers in there all at once. Theres the npc you join the guild through, then theres Abnur Tharn for the Elsweyr prologue, the Order of the Eye dispatch for CWC prologue, Vanus Galerion for Summerset prologue, Valaste for the mages guild questline, and another mage you do a sidequest for in Davons Watch, and the consumable writ certification npc. 7 different quest markers for one closed space.

I can only expect more questgivers to appear in the future as more prologues and other content becomes available. It will be a veritable sea of questgivers amidst a vast open space because the building can't load due to all the npc's in the area.

Not only the questgivers. Also the NPCs that stand around daily quest positions.

I do my crafting dailies in Mournhold and I can't stand the Khajiit at the carts (who is somehow quite one some of my chars) or the two NPCs at the Consumable Writ Board.

    No.

The questgivers who appear at the start of a new zone are a real help to new players getting into that zone's quests. So are those who appear at other points.

Either do the quests that they offer, in which case they will stop chasing you, or just ignore them. They are already on a leash anyway, and won't run after you all over the map.

Some of the quests, sure. But when you're a new player coming in and seeing a half dozen or more npc's occupying a space, some of which are preludes to dlc or chapter material, it can be super confusing and overwhelming. And it's only going to become more so once we have another few dlc and chapter prologues added to the game. Having Stuga or the other Elsweyr prologue quest giver appear to set you off on some other quest line than what you might be doing can be too much. Which is why they need some way to turn off certain dlc or quest lines for additional content until you're ready for it. The base game stuff is fine. But when you get an over abundance of npc's shouting and shoving quests in your face, it can be a turn off.

I understand the Point of having them beahave as they do but they could try to get our attention a few times m and then stop or we could be given the option to turn quests off.

If you finish Dark Brotherhood before Orsinium there should be a special writ where you are required to take out Stuga, and then take the note from her corpse to start the latter :D

They could easily add a toggle-able setting and wrap a 1s check around the NPC spawn code - They must already check if you've done the quest and they clearly have a framework for settings etc. It's about a 1h job and is QOL for anyone who's not a new player (i.e. most)

Stuga is so easy to shut up, just accept her quest.

Yes, I know it counts against your quest limit. But if you are doing 25 dailies, you are not going to be anywhere near her.

The MG and FG are the really annoying ones, as they bark at you in every city and some outposts in your Alliance.

Their pattern lately has been to put the quest starter in the crown store (free of course). I believe they already noticed how the quest givers were going to pile up. Hopefully that's the case.

For a time they do that. But the quest giver for the Elsweyr prologue ot right outside the base cities in Auridon, Glenumbra, and Stonefalls as well as in the crown store. Come time for the next years chapters they will likely be taken out of the store for the new ones.

I don't know how it worked or whether it was fixed so may be off the pace here but do you remember when MSA was fresh and DCs and lag were frequent - It was a genuine fix to clear your entire quest log.

If that, like many other issues were shoved under the rug, that might hinder you elsewhere the more you do it.

There should be the option to tell them to just sod off. I've done their quests on my main and unles I'm inclined to I won't be doing them again. This should be the trigger in collections. Let's sey you want to do Orsinium, you go to collections, you tick a box and look, there's Stuga, coming to pester you. Otherwise this shouldn't be the case.

They fixed that issue a couple of years ago. Now it does not matter how many quests an Alt has, it does not affect zoning time. I have some alts that have more than 20 in the list, and some that have none.

They should increase the size of the quest log.

Granted, some dailies get weird if you let them sit and get moldy in the list before completing them. However quests starts should be ok
