Do you use treasure maps? Or do you get rid of them?

    Craft an invis pot.

The gold on these chests needs to be drastically increased to at least crafting writ reward levels (664g).

I find some treasures, but not all. (For example, only if I have a chance of getting a good piece of "overland" gear.)
If I have time, I try to go get them when I do crafting surveys in the area. But if I have too many build up, I sell them. They always sell.

Yes. I always use my treasure maps.
They just sit in my inventory until I'm close enough to the location anyway to just grab them. I solved them by myself at the beginning but now I just use addon. I've solved most of them at least once before, no point in wasting my time again to remember their locations.

I have never once used a treasure map (ok well maybe a few times before I realised how trash they were). Either the normal ones or the gold event ones. These are instantly destroyed and cursed for the inventory space they take up.

Who has time to go searching for these chests that contain virtually nothing useful other than gold? Not I.

I am currently in the denial phase re Treasure maps.

    I’ve done many

I’ve reconciled myself to the notion that they are fundamentally not rewarding for my characters or my efforts

    I’ve accepted they won’t change

I am now denying that I should destroy them all.

But the truth is they are filthy, rancid bag blockers and should either be discarded or destroyed on sight.

I now resolved to destroy them all the next time I’m in game.

And free my bags from the tyranny of the treasure map.

I usually don't do it, I don't find it useful/worth picking up/worth spending time/worth my inventory space because I don't have merchant assistance. Gold is nice but.. too low in amount to make me want to do it. (Only do it when I forgot to get rid of it and it's really near the materials survey place that I'm heading to)

Yes. I always use my treasure maps.
I always do them if I remember where they are, or think I have a pretty good idea.

The Elsweyr maps pile up faster than I can find the locations (I've only found two in the north so far), so if I get a duplicate I offer it to guildmates.

If there are no takers and I really don't feel like bothering, I'll put it in the store. They only sell for 150-200 gold, but people do buy them.

I do wish they would put more exciting loot in them.

As for the Woodblight, I waited around for a bit to see if anyone showed up, but when no one did I decided to go ahead, and I surprised myself by defeating her solo. She is really not that powerful so give it a try!

I have tons of them in my bank. Every now and then I take some out for a region I plan to travel too and run them all. In this way my bank space is not so used up.

No matter what, nice is the gold you can find. I think up to 100 gold and sometimes abit more. Some crafting material even it is very less. The armor and other gear what you can find is 99% junk.

Yes. I always use my treasure maps.
I use the treasure maps but only because there is an achievement for opening 1000 treasure chests and the ones from treasure maps count as well as the ones that need to be unlocked. I just have whatever character needs to work on that achievement run them when my storage chest for maps gets full. Except for maps in Cyrodil, those I sell in the guild store as I have no desire to enter PVP land.

Same here. I'm on my 5th character working on that achievement and that character is the one that gets to find all the treasure maps until I hit 1000. Then it's on to the next character.

I mostly donate them in bulk for trade guild auctions, basically passing the buck.

Usually too burnt out from doing surveys to bother doing a large number of treasure maps as well.

I know some people make good gold out of doing them, from good overland set pieces but that all has to do with your luck with the random number generator, needing lots of maps for each of the valuable zones, to have a hope of getting anything good to sell.

Too me at least the problem with them is there is nothing in the chests that screams treasure to me, if they had something worth the trek out to the locations I would likely do them but at the very least they would need to be of equal value to the raw mats from equipment surveys for me to bother with.

Even if they just upped the amount of gold in the treasure chests to around 1K it would help out newer players, making gold, they still have to trek out to the treasure map sites.

And have all the pieces within be overland set pieces none of those items that are only good for trait research or decon.

I love treasure maps - I use them as something to do while chilling after an intense training session with my trial progession group. Despite its many other issues, this game is still visually lovely and I like just riding around, combining gathering mats with the treasure. Some of my guildies know this and send me unwanted maps. :)

I trash them. They're more trouble than they are worth, especially without the aid of a website or addons and I dislike having to rely on either of those.

If they were more like the Witch's Festival Treasure Maps - where I could actually go find them in a reasonable amount of time based solely on the in-game clues - then I would do them. But currently - they're just badly designed and need an overhaul. I actually made a thread about this myself not too long ago.
