Bunch of things were actually game breaking buggy, and in the second area so many actual quests were uncompilable which completely stopped leveling progression that the GM's had to start giving quest completes to allow the players to continue playing.
Imagine having to stay online for hours just to make sure the GM actually got to you while you go around randomly mob killing which does not give you enough points to skill up you skills/weapons in order to proceed to the next area which was a very hard overcrowded with mobs area. And then the whole supposedly you jump back in que thing if you log off, I swear that if you didn't get helped in the first 3-4 hours it was better to delete your ticket and create a new one since once I had a ticket for 3 days later on before a GM completed the quests listed on it.
This lasted for at least 2 1/2 months from early access before burned out and unsubdued. Months of constantly encountering nearly game breaking gameplay glitches or uncompromisable quests. I did so love the game itself but too much frustration in the unfixed glitches.
That by far was my worst experience
A guild population cap above 500 might also be a good idea, given how the stores segment. There are plenty of issues, no doubt. Things like lack of a global AH are conscious design choices. Those aren't part of bugs or launch problems. They do need a decent search in guild store though.

Nope I can't agree - had to do it for EVE, LOTRO, WOW, and SWTOR during those wonderful first weeks of start-up for each.

What determines worse launch or best launch is how the bugs effect you.
SWTOR was missing key features that every single MMORPG released the previous two years had. That was the issue with it. It took them six moths to get that in-line, and they ALWAYS had it in the works. Their devs and development videos talked about the LFG system, and how they were working on the UI changes.
It was just forced out the door too soon to meet EAs requirements.
Nearly every single MMORPG release in the past ten years has had some terrible problems.
I expect ESO to address the AH issue at some point... it will happen inevitably in some format.
You have other methods to sell your stuff... unlike many of the games that were completely missing guild banks, interface modifications, or even a combat log.

Just my thinking.
ESO still pretty high on the list, given how many have launched, and failed.

Also missing working group support where much of the content required groups. For example groups would frequently be unable to talk to one another and you would have to reform the group. If you died in an instance the trash mobs would respawn making it impossible to rejoin your group. Shortly after launch decided too many people were enjoying low level WORKING content and racheted up the difficulty disproprotionalty if you were too high that content. There was a certain dungeon I wanted to run because it had a great potential polearm drop - for awhile my main character hung around playing with the auction house listening to guild chat because I wanted to experience a particular dungeon and I didn't want to overlevel.f2pmmogamescub18_ESO wrote: »#4 - Age of Conan (Special Award for #1 'Bait 'n Switch Game')

That's odd dude. I played all of those games other than EVE at launch and never had to patch the full game client after an update. I think I would remember that.
What launcher problems, never had a single one myself.WhiteQueen wrote: »In my[ experience, having a broken launcher consistently over several patches makes this the most horrible launch ever. I have been playing MMOs since UO beta and I have seen some good MMO launches and some not so good ones. This is by far the worst. .
Hmm,
lets go through some "recent" launches.
SWTOR
This game shipped without HD textures. Besides that AA was bugged and lead to disappearing cut scenes. Cut scenes at SWTOR were based on a holo broadcast and very important for the story, like in the movies.
Besides that, the game had a horrible distance view, everything popped up right in front of you, it was a nightmare release. In the end of the launch phase EA just decided that people who played for months but sadly picked a server that now didn't had players left, should start from scratch, so all the chars were just deleted.
I lost all my chars in that process, the day I stopped.
TESO
Cant say much about endgame or higher level yet, as I am just 11. But I would definitely say that TESO is not as bad as some people say it is.
