Hello ZOS I think we should just admit our mistakes here not a lot of people going to continue paying subs with the quality of service we've been receiving. If you make the game Free to play (F2P) I think the odds are more in your favor since people will actually want to pay $60 for the game. Right now everyone is upset because we paid for a broken product but if we don't pay anymore then we won't be so unforgiving. Take the example from FFXIV Square apologized and made it free and now they rise again with FFXIV RR.

ROFL YEAH ZOS! Take your advice of how to run a business from some random dude on the forum!

agreed. Its the new call of the idiot in gaming.

If this game goes f2p you wont see me around, not like I'm anything special, but i can guarantee you at least a thousand others would be following right behind me, as f2p is the ruin of games.

Please do not make this a f2p game. Keep fixing things, and keep it going.

    Aww, don't say that. I think you're special. :kissing_heart:

I'll never touch ESO again if it goes F2P.

I'm in the same boat. I don't think this game is going away from the pay model for a very long time. I haven't spoken to one person that is remotely considering canceling their subscription, despite the launch issues. The game will only become more polished and gain more content. F2P claims are flat out ridiculous.

Catches-the-Sun - Argonian Templar - Master Smith, Provisioner, Chemist & Tailor
Valaren Arobone - Dunmer Flamewalker - Master Woodworker, Provisioner, Assassin
Kazahad - Khajiiti Arcane Archer - Master Thief
    V'orkten - Redguard Swordmaster
Finnvardr the Frenzied - Werewolf Berzerker

F2P is very variable. It can be totally immersion breaking and in your face or in the background. There are also many models of it. Personally I prefer a sub game, but some F2P is acceptable to me.

If ESO goes F2P, I'm not going to stick around... I've been in F2P games that were P2P to begin with and the community ALWAYS degrades when the transition happens. It's not pretty at all, and I'd hate to see it happen to ESO.

FF14 was P2P, FF 14 ARR is STILL P2P right now.
Maybe, just maybe they go F2P in future -but there is no mentioning about that right now

Like I said before for everyone having issues there are 1000s and 1000s who are not. Most of these issues only seem to affect a few people (access codes) and others are issues people brought on themselves (like paying for value shipping and expecting to play until the game arrives in the mail for free). This has been the smoothest launch of a MMO in recent history.

The Bank bug seems to be a lot more widespread than that... though, of course, we don't have access to hard numbers there.

Between the two crafting guilds I am in there are over 600 people. Not one had any bank bugs. Its pretty limited to me.

Having played/followed ARR SE said they would shut the game down rather than go f2p.

I doubt they will transition any time soon. Unlike some companies, I think ZOS will be content to ride out a lower subscriber base, which can still generate significant revenue.

On personal experience, it hasn't happened to me, but it did happen to my girlfriend's account. So... if we take your 0%, and my 50%, and average it out and say it's 25% we're still nowhere. :p

Judging by the amount of attention it's getting, I think it is probably affecting more than .1%, but, (shrugs). We don't know and I'm just guessing.

The games has potential to be a viable subscription based MMO, it's all about content, the quality of it and the speed on witch is released, in other words... if we have good and stable content updates then we will have a good MMO with a subscription fee.

That, and of course, the overall support and yes, that last part is lacking, the game has a lot of bugs, some of them even game breaking for some players, quests that do not work, NPCs that do not spawn, group instance quests not progressing, etc.

The lack of real patches for those problems is the troubling part, as for me, I am waiting for a fix for the very low First Person FOV, True Fullscreen, a good AA filter, a 64bit client, someone to look into the long loading times (I'm on a SSD drive) and the abilities delay (most noticeable if your are using a bow), oh... and the fact that a lot of NPC do not speak at "first click", when the server is really laggy (sadly, that is.... a lot of the times, the EU server really needs to be in the EU) I can only have the NPC speak to my at the 6th or so "click".

As for the content update, the game is not even a month old but I would expect sizeable monthly updates, including The Dark Brotherhood quests and abilities, and the same With the Thieves Guild.

And certains areas need to be instanced! I can't feel immersed in the story when the NPC says something on the lines of "You are the first to enter here, you are special, etc." and you look around and spot 30 other players looking at the same NPC...

Okay, you've got my curiosity... where's that number coming from? The only population number I've seen was the beta signups, which was five million, and isn't the current game population, so far as I know.

I'm sure ZOS' mid-to-long-term plans include ESO going F2P; indeed, I'd be shocked if that wasn't the case. This said, I doubt it would occur anytime within the first several months. To go F2P so quickly would be tantamount to ZOS admitting they screwed up badly and either lost too many subscribers and/or never even came close to hitting projected subscriber numbers that F2P becomes the only viable option.

Given that we're still in the 30 day "free" period after launch, I just don't see ZOS going down this path anytime soon.

5 mil signed up for beta and reported thousands of bugs and the main quest most important still bugged. I honestly believe there are no more than 1 mil active players atm.
