Unbelievable how much of the game was nerfed this year!

    Sorry friendo but this is entirely incorrect. It's just not the truth, at all. Believe me from someone who regularly participates in the content that less than 1% of the population has completed. The gap is still huge and personal gaming skill is a HUGE part of a player's performance these days.

    You admitted to doing a norm dungeon once, and rarely. That's fine, and you're right basically zero skill is needed for some or most on norm. Though I've been blocked from completing dungeons lately healing some norm dungeons by players doing 2k dps each lol, and I have no clue how it is possible to do that low of damage haha.

    But the gap is gigantic between the middle and the top, and requires extreeeeeeme skill to do the top content. And honestly gear starts to be important but a very skilled player near the top can do most other content with garbage gear on.

    Also it is worth mentioning, in your own example, the theoretical dps is making no effort to get out of the red and is mashing two buttons. This is made possible because your healer is working their butt off to keep these lazy players alive, and of course the player would have no consciousness or ability to realize that if they're that lazy lol. How is that fair to your healers?

    There's even a gap within the top %1 lol. I've gotten a good chunk of vet HM trials, all vets but vCR just because I never bothered progressing on it till now, and gotten all vet and most vet HM dungeons including regularly healing no death runs. L Have been on the Leaderboards a dozen times, which is a dozen more than almost the entire eso population but a joke compared to the ones on there every week. But I'll never have Godslayer or vCR+3 for example. This is the reality of upper tier gaming and I know my place and am fine with that.
    Longtimer since beta, the usual. 26 CP toons. ~1700cp on main account, 1000cp on 2nd account. Endgame-ish lol. Most Vets / some HM's cleared.

    This whole "power creep" thing is a red herring. Most players are "average" and their experience of the game is better because of increased avenues of power. A tiny fraction of the player base with their cheesed out 100K dummy parses is not indicative of a problem. But, of course, that's not where the devs and their nerf-everything heads are at.

    We lost about 10,000 max magic in the past year or so. We have lost so much that now magic toons are melee and resorting to bashing , 12k health and using spell symmetry in there parses.

    If we look at the changes over the past few years we have been buffed significantly. The recent nerf does not even come close to reverting the power creep we have experienced.

    It's funny how the devs release vet content that requires more damage and sustain, but then complain about "power creep" while nerfing damage and sustain as if they don't want people to actually beat the content.

    Recovery through increased cost
    Idk if the recovery on food was nerfed?
    Aoe damage nerfed
    Dots buffed but then nerfed ( seems they buffed dots and nerfed food to come back and take away the dot buff......slick,lol)
    Number of sets nerfed
    Major vulnerabilty nerf
    Class skills nerfed ( some )
    Class passive nerfed ( some)
    Ulti's damage nerfed ( some )
    Added a cast time to ulti's ( this is a nerf)
    Am I missing anything?

    the list goes on, sorcerer is with out a doubt the most neutered class in game, and theyve continue to radically change the game every patch. i have no reason to stick around.

    When i started the game, top player were at 25k dps, bad player were at around 10k.
    Now top player are at around 80k dps [realistic(?)], bad player are at around ... 10k.

    A mate said lately... to change this,...LA needs to be like 500 damage all time. Independent of gear and stats, 500 it is (number is just an example, can be 400 or 900 or whatever, as well).
    The smaller the number, the more it closes the gap, (and the more it will annoy some people lol).

    Might close the gap, but is another nerf again, so maybe a bad idea and a good idea at once. Not sure yet.

    There's no need to try and force a gap close. People can get better by just practicing. If people put in effort to get better, they're rewarded with higher dps. No need to try and drag others down to make some people feel better about not practicing.

    Everytime a big Chapter or DLC drops, it seems I have to re-gear and re-skill my characters again due to nerfs and changes. It really gets old after some time.

    all talking about the gap on middle and elites are just smoke screen.

    I consider myself just average and i'm plenty aware that elites for the utmost just use "macro". And it's really easy ot check, how they can die so easily with an missed healing or just send skills that have no use at time.

    Theses elites are strong, shutting dow heavy achievment in only squashing mechanics and even skipping them in killing boss so fast.

    Put theses guys on the mechanical side and they are not able to adapt and make a great run.
    It make me questioning why people with my double dps; spent nights on having hm on pledges or trials. Just really ^^

    so let the elites in their sweet world ;)



    The real problem is that the dps is only based on AL .
    AL is stronger than ult, stronger than abilities, stronger than skills.
    It wouldn't be a problem with a set based on, but in fact just check all the parses = AL is top amount , dont you think it's a problem?
    If people here think the skill in a game is only about how to animcut and not use a good skill at a good time, well what can we say ...

    It is a shame, ZOS push people to run the dps with stupids timer achvment or dps checking fight, so it will motivate people to send big numbers on puppet. Where is the fun in killing theses dragons in sunspire ?

    I rather have better fun in HM malatar , falkreath, fl, frostvault, or even against velidreth ( when she is not broken ^^ )
    All hm doable with a low dps tam, but knowing how to play.

    I stumbled across a video of myself PvPing and the video was from over a year back and you could just see how much more enjoyable the game was back then. It’s such a shame what has been done to this game recently.

    I think not :) Im not using proc sets, I have at least 4 very viable setups in case some of them would get nerfed. If you want to tell me that I have 4 crutch setups... well then what is crutch? Shouldn't it be the ONE AND ONLY? :)

    ...and to make it clear, I play magblade. Yes, that OP spec that fills whole Cyrodiil because its so cheesy :trollface:

    I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

    I'm a middle tier player. I've lost 20% to 25% of my dps. It took a lot of work to get where I was before they ripped that 25% away with these Godamned nerfs. I don't know if I have to in me to get back to where I was. It's depressing and demoralizing. I am not a freaking robot that can parse with precise microsecond timing.

    This is the whole reason I quit months ago. Nerfs are never fun; getting a bunch of them every update makes it less fun with each hit. As a mostly solo player (because of extreme trial lag) there really wasn't any point doing anything any more.

    Now whenever I feel nostalgic I just remember the nerf hammer and the nostalgia goes away.
