Fighters Guild (Irazur)

This quest is broken and this particular boss "Irazur" is absolute BS

Ive made over 30 attempts on this boss with lvls ranging from 36-42.. only boss i've had any issue with so far.. the instant healing and 2 shot death is annoying.. and not enjoyable...

I finally killed her last night by some miracle chance and the quest bugged out and I couldn't proceed any further.. I killed her on the stairs..

I can't proceed and i'm not going to spend another hour trying to kill 1 boss who was built poorly in area thats also built poorly..

fix it for others.. impossible bosses like this turn people off paying money each month to fail

Yea, these types of daedra are a massive pain to fight.

Killed her at level 46 - although accidental via Soul Shatter when she killed me.

I'm DPS dual wield and I can't beat her....if you are up close she two shots you you need to be at a distance like with ranged. Completely WAY too difficult. level 41 DPS Med Armour. over 42 tries other two were a cinch.

    -UPDATE-
Still to hard but I managed to do it Barely and with a lot of luck. 65 deaths in all.

After leveling, learning a couple area dmg things (whirlwind and the Ardent Flame ultimate) this fight that had frustrated me before became really easy.

Oh, and do let Merric "tank" the add...he won't kill it which is just fine...

First of all, this is a level 43 quest, so I'm not sure why you are complaining that you can't beat it when you are below level 43.

I beat it at level 42 with a bow/dual-wield Nightblade. If you want to solo bosses like this you need to be able to heal yourself (beyond potions). If you are a Nightblade, invest in the Siphoning tree.

Attention Zenimax: Stamina builds don't hold up to magicka builds, and this is causing most of your class imbalance. It makes melee weapons and bows weaker than staves and class abilities. It makes medium and heavy armor less desirable than light armor. Fix this imbalance, and you'll address most of your balance issues.

Hey guys, I thought i'd give you my input as I just did this fight as a level 36 Khajiit Nightblade.

I main bow so it might be different but having a range caster is extremely helpful. ALWAYS KILL THE ORBS. USE HEALTH POTIONS.

Kite around the walls. She can't attack you through and she will just then spam her AOE ability. You can take advantage of this.,

Good luck guys. Super hard fight, have fun!

People have done this, therefore can I please ask everyone that has to give advice to those that cannot, so we can deal with these lamia bosses - I still cannot do the level 30 main quest and now because I am level 42 I cannot use my ultimates on her so it makes it even harder

I get the whole destroy the spheres... but its not easy to do when they appear about 5m from her and you are mid way through an attack that because of the way the system works means you get used to spamming the your main attack key a couple of times in case you hit some lag against a group of 5 or 6 NPCs

This is the only thing that annoys me about the game, that I cannot for the life of me work out how to deal with these bosses

I do not in anyway shape or form want them nerfed, the challenge is good, but I just wish I could get my head around working out how to deal with them - dosiha was intriguing upto the point it was nerfed, now she seems lame

If anyone has a link to a youtube video of how someone has learnt how to deal with them, so I can try and educate myself a litte that would be great, otherwise I'll give up the fighters guild and main quest - which will also suck as I believe that means I won't get to coldharbour if these aren't completed

    EDIT:

So that time out to write this kind of helped, I looked at a few other places, and found someone mentioning that getting her away from the spheres by getting her down the hill worked... well it didn't stop the spheres appearing very close to her, but my dual wield build of my nightblade did at last kill her on the stairs, I must have just got lucky on a few of her attacks, because for the life of me I still have no idea how I managed it without just spamming commands that felt right at the time... so my request still stands if someone has any tips/videos on how to educate myself on beating the lamia bosses I would be grateful

I just did this on my Templar, level 42. I don't think the quest needs to be nerfed if you do like the other posters said -- ranged aoe on the orbs, pull the add out to be tanked by Merric, and kill her on the steps. I died 4-5 times before finding the sweet spot. She goes went down very quickly on the last try. I used my bow at range and just moved back and forth to stay out of her flailing arms attack that fans out. If you have enough range, it's easy to see them coming.

The issue here is, Templars have a lot of aoe options... Nightblades... not so much.

I agree, these bosses that are just thrown in are infuriating. It seems a tank character can beat the mages guild quest and be a "Master Wizard" without ever casting a spell and vice versa you need to be the evil emperor from star wars to beat the fighters guild quest. Sort it out please ZOS.

I'm a dual wielding Dragonknight in heavy armor. I don't have any AoE skills (except for Burning Talons, and it doesn't work with a lot of bosses, including this one).. And this skill was even slotted lol
So.. It's doable, don't ask for a nerf.

Indeed. I found this a bit confounding; doing the Mages Guild quest line with a melee tank being much easier than doing the Fighters Guild line.
But perhaps it is the paper-scissors-stone thing, the correct answer to sorcerous problem being the sword :)

Got any tips how to target the regeneration orbs without a radar?

A game is just a game: we are supposed to have fun playing it - not to prove that we're better than some noobs who can't do what we can do. This fun involves a delicate balance of challenge (with some frustration thrown in) and passability. No challenge: boring. No passability: I go play something else; this is not a job!

While the skillful players are the most vocal part of the community, it is us, average Joes, who bring in most of the cash. If I cannot beat the boss (even being 8 levels above the nominal), and my progress in the game is gated on it, I just use some mild expletive and take my money elsewhere. If I am not alone in that, this will be reflected in the company's bottom line.

This quest is among the few which are in a dire need of adjustment, at least from where I stand.

Irazur seems to be a bit tougher in Version 1.1.2 (or I am just seeing things?). I killed her last week, keep dying now (being lvl 48!). Can't even get to the final boss (which was supposedly nerfed in this update), and because of linear quest structure there is nothing left to me in the game (except of PvP, which is not my preference). Can't even grind exp ot mats, being too much above landscape mobs. As much as I like the game, this may be the time to move elsewhere.

All people claiming this fight is ubber easy and struggling people are just bad are poor arrogant kids who think because they managed to destroy this boss are pros.
Breaking news: they are not, this fight is absolutely not about player skill, you just need AoE to destroy the healing orbs.

Actual tip from (healer) Templar: Using the Dawn's Wrath ultimate will change this fight from impossible omgwtfbbq to an easy fight done in 10 secs. Engage with 2/3 skills/attacks and then throw the ultimate and continue to attack, the ultimate will deny the healing orbs for 8+ secs while doing damages to the boss. Should be enough if you throw everything you have during the ultimate duration.

Like a lot of fights that are "way to hard" the trick to this one is changing up strategy/weapons/approach until you find something that works. Here's how I did it (after about 10 tries with things that didn't work) on my lvl40 NB. I used my bow, even though I am usually dual wield daggers and even though I took the prismatic longsword.

Started off on the steps, and slowly worked her back toward the middle, but not too far. I hit her with Entropy and Swallow Soul (DOTs that also restore health), used Poison Arrow traded off with my bow attack. Dodged her ground attacks and was careful not to use up all my Stamina. As soon as I was released from her grip for the orbs, I hit Arrow Spray until they were gone. Rinse and repeat. Got her down in less than 3 cycles of this. Quite easy kill and I was totally surprised when she died! lol

As a DW/Bow NB, this fight was definitely challenging for me, but not impossible by any means. Some of my guildmates had more trouble than I with the quest, others found it relatively easy. The difficulty (or lack thereof) seems to hinge on a at least a couple different factors:
    • Whether the FG NPCs actually get involved and help you fight if you pull the add to them. For me, the FG didn't help at all.
    • Your class and build. For me, what gave me trouble wasn't Irazur per se; rather, it was the combination of Irazur, a confined space and a 2H add.
What would happen to me is that the 2H add would wipe me as I was trying to take out the Irazur balls, or manage to land an uppercut on me right when Irazur does the lightning cone. That said, once I killed the 2H add and a mage add spawned (attacks from a distance rather than direct melee), I was able to focus on taking out Irazur without the "distraction".

I will tell you a simple way to defeat her, just need a bow and Merrec.

I 100% agree she is BS to the 10th power. Very hard if you plan to take her on heads on in hand to hand combat, also it's just as impossible from long range unless you have a million health potions to use up. Her hits are to hard to stand up to, Having to kill her orbs that she makes the second she takes on damage to regain max health WTF!?!?!, along with the daedra that come out of the portal and she is super fast. She is a power move machine gun. Impossible... I have heard other people here saying they have defeated her. The speak of methods they used. mainly long range and magica based. personally I highly doubt that had anything to do with it. they got lucky on a glitch.

I have defeated her and I honestly say it was due to a glitch. First I tried her Merrec was of no use. he was glitched. he wouldn't tank for me. he stayed standing in front of that huge orb. few days later leading to today I tried again, and Merrec was now tanking. ... But she was still impossible... All you need is a bow and Merrec. First kill the other 2 easier bosses and close the portals. Now on to Irazur...First attack her like normal, this way merrec will attack her too. she will kill you like always.. but merrec will keep attacking her. when you revive. stand way back and don't touch her again. let merrec attack her only. use your bow to pick off the daedra coming through the portal so merrec can have a chance to breath. he is weak, takes nothing for her to stun him, but when he gets up he does pretty good damage to her. just keep this up. Picking off daedra and letting merrec beat her down. she never uses her health orb move on him. At least she didn't when I did it.. takes a minute or 2 and merrec will kill her. Trust me I have tried everything I can think of. even leveling higher then her. makes no difference. technicality its not really a glitch its more like letting the game do the work for you. Do what you got to do. Hope I helped.
