I would like a explanation.

I tried to login, and it said my deatils where changed by a admin. I want to know what's going on, as it clearly is happening to alot of people. I would like you to put out something exokaing why a admin has changed my password/account details. right now, I'm more concerned that my accoutn might of been hacked, and the lack of any public addresing of this just makes it more concerning.

At the moment it seems like the hamsters are slowly, systematically, being tortured to death.

No, it was just a generic message that said our account details *might* have been changed by an admin.

Since it happened to everyone, it may have been a hiccup or system update on their side.

Or the "reset password" thingy may have been applied to all accounts across the board for some reason.

Yes, it would be good to know what happened.

But as long as you change your password, everything should be fine.

I was given a message saying my account details had been changed. I would like to know why, as currently I suspect they've been hacked

If it was the same message that I got, it said "might." I wish I'd taken a screenshot of it, but I'm pretty sure it was a generic sort of "Oops! It looks like something unspecified happened and you need to reset your password!" message. Maybe someone who hasn't tried to visit the forums again yet will get the message, screenshot it for us, and post it.

But I agree that some sort of comment from ZOS would be nice.

Mine said the same as yours. I wondered if I had been banned. I think a lot of people thought they were banned or hacked.

I know the mods are reading, they might want to up this on the chain of command and let us know something. Even the RUMOR of a breach, like blood in the water, can hurt a company, especially with the gamer community. No hackers HERE of course. Just the silence when the subject is broached doesn't inspire confidence in their security.

Yep, that's the message I got.

And it does not say "might," so I was wrong about that. Okay? I WAS WRONG!

Please ZoS, who is this admin going around changing our passwords and why? Are they drunk, bored, at a loose end on a Saturday night? In all seriousness an explanation would be welcome, getting tired of the silent treatment with everything now.

The vendor we use to power the ESO forums reset all user passwords for partners that had upgraded to their most recent software version, which included the ESO forums. You are required to reset your password as a security precaution to address a potential security issue in their forum software. Please be aware that ESO forum accounts are completely separate from your ESO game account, so your existing credentials can still be used to access the game. To log into your forum account, simply go to the sign in screen and reset your password. As soon as we receive more information from the vendor, we'll pass it on.
