Just TURN off the servers for a day!

Just turn the servers off for a day or two so you guys can figure out what to do. Because the game is completely unplayable on ps4 NA. Enough is enough I doubt anyone would even care that you turned the servers off to figure out what to do.

That is going to take far more than a day or two. Maybe more like a couple of months at best. So that is very unlikely to happen.

Why turn off all the servers because you are having problems? I have had no issues on PC NA when the event was live nor do i have any issues now. Also "turning off the servers" will help in no way at all. In fact it will do the opposite. The servers need to be ran under load to see what the problems are.

Turning off the servers would be like hearing a noise come from the engine compartment of your car, stopping it and turning it off, noise stops, but you can no longer pin point it because you turned the car off. Same concept. A better analogy is you dont turn off your computer when you have a virus to get rid of it.

You're what one of a few who have had no issue's? Well good for you for being the minority do you want a cookie? The game in "PS4 NA" is unplayable. I have played this game since launch and it has NEVER been this bad.

That wouldn't help at all. Planning and executing a pointless operation would hinder ZOS by adding to the workload of those involved.

Taking the server down for a time beyond which is necessary for routine maintenance or repairs would not at any way help ZOS improve the game.

Is it?If that were the case, I would think the forums would be flooded with irate customers demanding it be fixed right now!!! Yet after checking the first 3 pages of "recent" i have not found a single thread with irate PS4 players complaining about the game being unplayable. Wait!... did i fall into an audition for a melodramatic RP guild? AM I suppose to be playing the part of the irate PS4 player? OR... Are you the one in the minority and your fellow PS4 players are in fact not irate at all. Maybe you cant check to see if they are irate because you accidentally unplugged your Ethernet, so the game is unplayable!!!...but only to you.

The problem is not the lack of a server to switch off, they can easily do that with the test server.
The problem is finding out what goes wrong on a heavily populated server, as there seems to be a strong coincidence between number of people on a server and the number of problems.
And you can t test that on a switched off server. There has been some indication that ZOS internally uses some dummy loads that try to simulate players but the solutions they come up with based on the experience with the dummy load won't work with tons of real players.

Whilst it is the ‘go-to’ advice for a lot of minor IT issues, somehow I think the problems here are a tad more complicated and won’t be solved by ‘turning it off & on again’ 🤣🤣🤣

It would take far longer than 1 or 2 days, maybe if they knew what the problem was a week minimum, but they dont (at least they are not sharing if they do) we can all speculate as to the problem which could be anything from corrupted code after 5yrs of "patching" to faulty hardware (target had a sale) the problem for me seems to be that the game was fundamentally flawed from launch and after 5yrs of taking out code putting it back, re-working and adding to a foundation that was not really finished has created a game code that has ingrained flaws that can not be patched out only bypassed, the only sensible solution as far as i can see is to re-code the game from scratch (a clean build if you like) then upload that onto a fresh server that does not have several million "ghost packets" that create phantom populations, run the new code under stress constantly for an extended period fix any issues that can be fixed until you have a stable platform ready to migrate the actual population over to, then DELETE the old code.

Turning off the server means also turning off the Crown Store so in other words it’s not gonna happen.

Yes we are disconnecting a lot in Cyro on PS4 NA, but the rest of the game is fairly playable.
I have just been spending time soloing undaunted dungeons without issue because the event got me in the mood. lol

Since we are not supposed to talk about other games here on this strict forum, i urge you Zenimax to do what that other game did a few weeks ago, take down the whole game, go throughly deep into coding and fix the issues, then turn on the game again in a new and much better version!

I agree with OP. EU Xbox is simply unplayable for me, I have an extreme rough time breaking specific CCS due to response time, leap is the biggest offender then Templar Stam or mag the toppling charge and the other morh are the second worst. Fighting anywhere near keeps during a siege is atrocious, you can't even change bar or attempt to fight as lag and group/zerg play is overloaded; from Solo perspective. Pots not going off when you drink them, delayed abilities with cast times(when performance is terrible aka most of the time) it doesn't provide much desire to play the game in its current meta and state.

Well I'm on PS4 NA and have had no issues for the last 8 or so hours? Mind you I'm only in PVE. Idk what PVP is like right now, probably a mess as always.

Wait, you really think that testing, patching, applying test updates or such is done on live environment. What will switching off do to anything. You have dev environment, public test server and then live environment. They can monitor and log bugs from live env. but the work will be done first in developer environment, then pushed to PTR and then as a patch to live env.

I'm on ps4 NA and haven't really been having any issues outside of the broken battlegrounds queue and occasional crashing in cyrodiil. The majority of the game is perfectly fine.

They can't turn the servers down, they're not 100% that they'll be able to turn them back on.

This is simply not true, not only based on comments seen on the forums, but from my personal experience. I had my only problems with server connection in months last night in Cyrodiil, when I lost it and couldn’t get a stable connection for about 15 minutes. I shut the game off and went to bed, and came back today with zero issues

I have no idea why some people on multiple platforms are having so many issues getting into the game, but denying everyone access to the game because some people are having problems is unfair, and unnecessary. I’m sure they have a test platform they can use to work on fixes.
