One was the discovery. The game and combat were beautiful and that remains this day. Well, except for the enjoyment of discovering that since I have been here almost 6 years now.
The second was the abysmal performance of the game. So often NPCs and items did not spawn for quests. The standard MO when that happened was /reloadui and if that did not work we logged out and back in. If the restart was not successful we moved on and came back to the quest later. Even a few weeks into the game being live I remember how quest after quest Zos had to do something to reset much of it
It was the worst launch of an MMORPG I have ever seen. It was the first part and that I enjoyed an MMORPG based on TES that I stuck it out. Zos had made significant improvement since then though they have also been making things worse the past couple years, not taking into account the more recent issues.
Interestingly, the GF did not cause issues with the game. However, that was because people did not use it since it was so poorly designed compared to the current one. Yes, we formed our group manually and walked into dungeons the old fashion way.
Ah if only ZOS would have used shards like a normal MMO and not this Megaserver BS!
And they should have used A BETTER GAME ENGINE!
They should just make ESO 2 at this point.. They could have Cyrodiil become a PVE zone and then add a couple of PVP shards where world PVP was enabled. Name the shards after Daedric Princes and the 8 divines. ZOS, just give up on this game and make ESO 2
my first jaw dropping moment when I started this game, was the dark anchors, I miss those days for sure.
comparing them with the summerset they were a total let down
I miss the times where overland bosses like Doshia was a pain to beat, and you felt a sense of accomplishment completing stuff, sadly now with all the changes One Tamiel as example, the feel of your char getting stronger is nonexistent, and the challenge of solo content is gone from this game completely.
I even remember being scared of stone gargoyles and trolls
I remember getting in there and seeing 20 players running around naked doing this quest, due to the cost of repairing your gear and we all just started the game so gold weren't like now
I started at launch and my first impression was rather negative. I got tired of getting stomped by mudcrabs, the wonky animations and after a week I was so bored of this game that I uninstalled it. Returned a couple months later and suddenly got hooked. Played ESO as my main game from then on until One Tamriel came along and ruined my character and the way I liked to play games. Still enjoying ESO to this day but the magic this game had for me once died a long time ago.
Early ESO (IMHO) sukked. Got killed early and often because just going from place to place got you killed. You start to do the Harborage quests - run into stuff you can't kill. Then when you finally complete a quest - Go away until you gain 10 levels.
wtf am I supposed to do now? no information, no googling anything.
