    Exactly.

Tried again. 54.217.220.147 doesn't work. Miss.

This is how round-robin DNS works.

I wonder, however, if the issue is not related to network rather than at the servers themselves.

I.E. The servers may work well but clients are not able to reach them due to some routing errors / filtering made in some ISP networks.

I know for sure for example that in France, many people with a specific modem from the same operator have troubles.

I'd guess some ISPs may cache the DNS lookups.
  • elderscrollsb16_ESO109
    @‌ Darzil

What i suspect is that the DNS entries are fine, the servers are fine, but this is a routing issue.
I.E. somewhere in the path between the client computers and the server, the packets are loss.

Putting 54.243.115.56 in the hosts file works better than deleting and restoring the .version files. ZOS CS should sticky your fix. Until that server gets overloaded at least.

Sorry to resurrect old thread, but I am having this issue, went through all the comments and nothing has helped. nslookup gives me a different ip everytime and pinging those ip's gives me timeouts. None of the posted ip's work for me at the moment. Any Ideas?

Ping timeout are normal, those servers are configured to not answer to ping.

But the trick to edit host file works.
note that It's only a temporary workaround until the real cause is fixed.

The only thing I know of that has really helped, if you are already patched to eso.live.1.0.0.968197, is to run eso directly (eso.exe for Windows users) rather than running though the launcher.

For everyone else, including people who don't want to run the game directly, the best thing to do is to restart the launcher several times until it does what it needs to do, either install the patch or allow Play.

Hey thanks for your help, do you know of any IP's to drop into the host file though? I've tried all of the ones I can find on the forums and I've had no luck so far, same issue.

All those IPs that I listed are the only ones for launcher.bethesda.net

yep look at my post named Found the root cause of many login issues - with workaround.
(i do not dare link my own thread, there's a spam prevention feature on the forum - which is a good thing).

Thanks for that info as well Rhoric, I'll keep at it and hopefully magic will happen.

I'll check it out, and yes I've been stung by that before as well (when trying to help someone).

    Cheers guys

This didn't work for me. I just disabled my anti-virus (Norton), and everything is working as it should now.

After reinstall seems to work now. Didn't go all the way in, as it's late, but will try again tomorrow.

    For now though, looks good.

And thanks for your responses guys, appreciate it.

There appear to be five working patch servers:
Copy/paste any the five (or all of them) into your host file:

    54.197.248.206 launcher.bethesda.net
    54.197.250.95 launcher.bethesda.net
    54.243.115.56 launcher.bethesda.net
    174.129.248.207 launcher.bethesda.net
    174.129.249.106 launcher.bethesda.net

This fixed the problem for me.

Um, this issue was fixed a month and a half ago. You don't need to do this now.

    Hello.
Sorry for digging a year ago into thoses topics, but i'm also having this problem.
One week ago i brought the game (Physically so that i can install them using thoses DvDs)

But ever since, i'm having this error occuring again and again, the DvD installation works, but the patches just never complete. It download for a while (sometime a pretty long while, since i'm living in Guadeloupe and internet's quite slow here.) and just randomly stops telling me eighter "Reliable source Serving Corrupt Data" or some WebGet error.

Since i'm not any good on comps, do anyone know if thoses hosts i'm supposed to change are still the sames ? Is it normal that i end up with a bloc note text as host while every other files are classified as "files" ?

    Thank you.
