Problem is that many people play many classes
I don't consider that a problem at all though, as those are the people whose opinion on such matters I would actually respect. The problem is the ones that don't play other classes coming in here freaking out about mechanics that they do not understand. If we could see the level of experience each player has, we'd have a better idea of whose posts to seriously consider & whose to take with a grain of salt.

Yup, that cp 2100 guy who has 5 maxed pet sorcs just rolled a magplar 2 days ago and got him to cap during the event. He must be very qualified to talk about stamplar balance I suppose.
No, they shouldn't. First, it's none of your business who or what I play in game. Second, ZOS is destroying classes, not people who whine in the forums.redspecter23 wrote: »Problem is that many people play many classes

2 days of experience in a class (all of it spent in a 24 man group running to dolmens) is qualification in your opinion for them to suggest balance changes for that class? Interesting.
I would trust their opinion on loading screens in Alik'r. The slow process of training a horse in speed through in game means and the annoyance of frame rate loss when 50+ people are all in one small area. I would not trust them in much else based solely on their templar playtime.

Yeah, you're right. I'm sure there's tons of people running around doing just that.🙄 (As if the 5 maxed out pet sorcs vs 1 templar wouldn't be somewhat of a dead giveaway to any potential motivations the guy might have.)

I've got 1700+ cp and 3 maxed characters of each class. I'm going to have to see your credentials before we continue this conversation. I need to know if your opinion matters compared to mine.

Um, you could have a single level 3 toon and your opinion would be no less valid regarding this — seeing the logic [for or against] my suggestion doesn't even require that you own the game. (Although it does require critical thinking, which thus far you have yet to exhibit.)
If you can't see that having more information about a person's possible biases would be potentially useful in determining how much credence to give their opinion in certain areas, I don't know what to tell you.
In any case, have a nice day.

No, I'm saying it has no bearing on this forum topic. (Your class, post count, etc has no bearing on the logic [for or against] my suggestion.)

By that metric, I have 10 forum stars (therefore I'm much more proficient in foruming than you) so I still win? I'm having a fantastic day by the way
By what metric, the ability to think critically? The number of stars next to your name seems equally irrelevant to that.
So you're saying that the number of forum stars I have that represent my time and experience on this particular forum are no indication of how much weight my opinion matters on any given forum topic?
No, I'm saying it has no bearing on this forum topic. (Your class, post count, etc has no bearing on the logic [for or against] my suggestion.)
I feel like I made my position pretty clear when I said:Replace "doesn't even require that you own the game" with "doesn't even require that you have a forum account" and it is no less true.you could have a single level 3 toon and your opinion would be no less valid regarding this — seeing the logic [for or against] my suggestion doesn't even require that you own the game.
At this point I feel like you just want to argue. If that's the case, pick something better than a straw man to base your argument on.
I think the responses in this thread show that a lot of players are against your idea. I just chose one reason to argue my point (that level doesn't relate to your knowledge in a class). There is the whole privacy issue which is also a legitimate concern. You could also just post your characters in your signature as many players already do anyway if you think it adds weight to your arguments on the forum. It would also be a significant amount of work to integrate the forums with your in game profile, just to have a lot of angry players upset that their characters are plastered all over the place here for all to see. You could make it "opt out" by default, but then what are you really accomplishing? It would just be the same as the forum signatures with characters listed in them as I mentioned above.
While you suggest an idea, you have yet to state the advantages of that idea other than the false assumption that your character level equates to your game balance knowledge. That false assumption has already been debunked so it's on you to suggest more positives for your suggestion that outweigh the negatives.
