Jerall Mountains

Since I like the other 4 zones and jerall Mountains can't be revisited, it's an easy choice. And I'd also say that zones that you can't revisit outside of a specific quest/quests shouldn't count as a zone. If we are, we might as well include all dungeons and trials then, not to mention the daily areas for DB and Thieves Guild.

Jerall Mountains

It doesn't feel very mountainous, it's just bushes and wolves really. It does have lots of mats, but it is the weakest against the others here I think. Plus I always groan when I get to that stage in the quest-line, the hunt for a werewolf with emotional issues should be a whole lot more interesting that it actually turns out to be.

I read what he wrote and I don't care if it's official or not. It's an option in this thread, but I am voting it out because it offers nothing. It might be considered a valid zone, but that doesn't automatically make it a good zone. It "pisses me off" that you try to discredit my reasoning by suggesting that I didn't read what Saucy Jack wrote and not because I actually made up my mind.

It's the question which of these zones is the worst and in my opinion it's the Jerall Mountains. Proper zone or not, the Jerall Mountains don't present themselves enough to be considered "good". Even among zones of its kind, the Jerall Mountains lose to zones like the Spiral Skein (of which you can get a good feel for even at its limited size) because it just doesn't present itself enough. That's my opinion.

Not saying that your reasoning of Jerral Mountains being too small or such is wrong whatsoever.
It's just the fact that so many people vote against a small, but beautiful Place, because it's not a Zone in their Opinion. For this Poll it is considered a damn Zone and thus shall not be voted out, because X and Y don't personally consider it to be one.

If they tell me that they don't like the atmosphere, cool. But saying that it shouldn't count by default just because they are too lazy to read several Statements saying why it's in this Competition.. Which you also said.

Eastmarch, because ... too much snow?

The Jerall Mountains have the Oblivion factor speaking in their favor. Reaper's March is another of those zones I don't like overly much, but I still like it better than Eastmarch, because less snow.

Artaeum and Northern Elsweyr are too beautiful to be kicked straight away.

Yeah you can consider it a zone if you want i can also say my car is a giraffe but it deosnt make it a giraffe its still a car

What does the jerral mountain offer that other zone do not?

Despite the many many hours I’ve spend in Rawl since launch (or maybe in part because of that) there’s pretty much nothing redeeming about the topography, stories, or characters in Reapers.

Yes, I read what Saucy Jack wrote, but I don’t happen to agree with it, therefore I stated my opinion on it, as did several others. I have a life and can’t live on the forums, so I never saw the other thread. These polls are supposed to be for fun, but you seem to be awfully emotional and combative about others disagreeing with your opinion. I find that odd.

Again, I still affirm that a quest-locked area doesn’t qualify as a zone. I’m entitled to my opinion, just as you are entitled to yours. Have a nice day.

I didn't even know where they were, so... Out they go. Luck for Eastmarch, it would've lost by far agains all the Cat zones. Not just because of the Khajiit, but the zones they are in are just great in terms of quests and atmosphere !!

They are allowed to answer as they want for whatever reason they want. Just as I'm allowed to think Reaper's March is the worst for my own reasons, which is that it's a fugly zone, Rawl'ka included, and no amount of convenience can make me set foot there unless I absolutely have to and then for no longer than strictly necessary.
Others can think that reason ridiculous or lame, or just me sucking fun out of something, I don't care. OP asked a question, I voted and gave a reason why. As did the ones you're pissed at. Let it go mate, it's a forum poll.

It's not. I literally explained why Jerral Mountains and so on are in this Competition, that the Majority of People in the Sign-Up Thread "voted" for it.

I am only pissed, because Saucy explained it very early in here and some People, who apparently read it, still don't get it.

If this would be a Competition about favorite Veggies and the majority of People decided that Potatoes may be seen as Vegetable, they should be given a Chance like every proper competitor.

Like I said before, just because it qualifies, doesn't automatically mean it's a good choice. Liquorice might be considered a vegetable too in the competition of best vegetable, but that still doesn't make it delicious or a good vegetable, even though for the sake of the competition it counts as one (one - not necessarily a good one).
So don't insinuate that people "don't get it" simply because they don't agree with it.

Like I said before, just because it qualifies, doesn't automatically mean it's a good choice. Reaper's March

Reaper's March... Ayyy, Reaper's March. I've really not enjoyed the Dominion zones much. They felt so very bland to me, in terms of quest and in turns of apperance. Once you've seen one bit of them, you've seen them all. Same with the quests.
And actually some of the quests there are pretty good, but the overall humdrum of traversing the zone drags them down.
Travelling is another point, i really don't like this geography which forces you into constant bottlenecks, bridges, chasms and makes what should be the journey of a minute be one of three minutes and feel like one of five.
And while RM isn't as bad as the other Dominion maps, it still is a Dominion map in those worst ways.
I've seen what people have said about R'wlka and yes it is a useful city but you shouldn't just cherry pick the one place and pretend the rest of the region isn't there. Sorry, that's just a bit disingenuous

Northern Dragonshire - This region is thankfully above the Dominion standards. There's some variety here but still there's the same annoying feature of chasms and bridges that force you to travel on the same, set paths. The main quests are good, but the side quests feel very forgetable. Only the heist and the Skooma Cat quests stand out as being memorable to me. And there's one specific quest in the akaviri descendant town up north that stands out as being really terrible and only an "oh no worries, it all turns out good" trick keeps it from being a situation where you want to kill a character the game definitely won't let you kill (i still wanted to shank them afterwards)

Eastmarch - This one is just fine. I don't think this one even deserves to be on the list. Especially since the people posting opinions about it don't seem to have much to say about it. In my opinion this region tends to be inoffensive so some people and others enjoy the chill nature of it.

Arteum - well it looks nice and has a few nice little spots. And the psyjiic quests are no fault of the region they start in. But really nothing can make up for the fact that it's a mini-zone, not even a city and therefore it can't really match up to any region.
Come to think of it it is a real shame we didn't get any quests exploring what arteum is or how life would be there.

Jerall Mountains - well... If you want to claim that this qualifies as a region, then fine.
However it's a small region, which you can only visit once (it being a one time thing probably makes it an instance, not a region, since it's only there for one instant), there is not much to see there, there is no house, no quests save the one you go there for. It was also and possibly still is an area that was abused to great extent because of the insane material node respawns.
It's basically an automatic worst, which is why it shouldn't be on this list at all - it will give R'Wlka a free pass and it will give any regions its paired with in future rounds a free pass. It's a one-stop-shop for vote disruption.

You can actually leave the Jerall Mountains available by leaving the zone before you finish the quest. Not sure why you'd want to do that, though.

And I'm perfectly entitled to disagree with "the rules" by kicking the Jeralls in the nuts in this poll.
I didn't see the other thread (contrary to popular belief, not everyone is reading the forums all the time), I didn't vote in the other thread, I find the decision frankly ridiculous, and I'm voting the Jeralls out to try to correct this ridiculous state of affairs.

If they stay in, you can be certain I'll be voting against them in the next round. Just because they shouldn't have been in in the first place.
