Plus I can buy a guy (or cat) that will carry 480 items for me in the field, while the boar will only carry five?

Maybe I am swayed by this good looking piggeh, but I think the 5 inventory slots are tolerable. I don't know if the 5 slots can exceed the previous inventory slot limit (if they do, then yes, it is another step closer to P2W) but if it doesn't then it's just another form of capacity upgrades for your horse or bag space upgrades which are already in the game and achievable with gold only.

I am pretty sure ZOS is testing the waters with this, so there should probably be some major backlash at them so they don't get any ideas, but it's probably best to save our energy for something that's actually a problem instead of crying P2Wolf every time until nobody listens anymore.

all those chapters should have 10 slots.
each DCL we get , should have 10 slots included.

So far I can just try to ignore all their ugly monetization, as I do not need/want a portable banker/merchant, no skyshards or skill lines, nor inventory space. Likely there will be something soon that I cannot just ignore (like a mount that breaks the speed limit for example), and that will be when I actively push my wife to quit playing, instead of just passively hoping she will so I have more time for other things.

And no, she does not read the forums.

I don't like it. I think it's a lazy implementation. Why not a bookcase to store surveys/master writs or other books,scrolls or style pages and much more. An armor-stand to store full item-slots gear in. The mind is the limit. And they give us a stupid pig that everyone buys just for the storage. They could have given us anything else to store in that would have been better.

Or maybe it'll be like the cat banker -- same price, no new feature, just a reskin/remodel.
So the next inventory pet might cost the same but you don't get an additional +5 stacked with the pig you already have.

Getting 5 extra inventory slots doesn't make you superior to others, so I don't consider this a P2W feature. Sure, it's P2*make-things-a-tad-more-convenient*, but 205 inv. spaces vs. 200 doesn't give you an edge against your opponent in Cyro, etc..

However, making it obtainable through somewhat lengthy in-game gameplay/quests wouldn't be too bad as an alternative, for those not willing/able to purchase it with crowns. Like needing to complete certain Boarish quests once a day for a total of 14/28 days, slowly building up the option to get it for free.

I would really like to see different pets with different perks being possible to obtain through somewhat lengty in-game methods (and probably through CS, cuz further improvements to the game etc., etc.) that could bolster a character in PvE-environments. This would possibly cross over to the pets for Wardens/Sorcerers at this point, just taking it to the next level.

Like some sort of spin-off from the CP system, giving players even more options to spesialize their character. This would need to be a part of a major update, though. But, if all this leads to actual P2W-content, then I'ld totally scratch these thoughts

The very act of buying the pet gives each of your characters +5 maximum bag slots. No need to have the pet active on even a single character.

Or at least they should increase bank space cap each year, when there is new Chapter, for those who bought the chapter, So you could "sink" more gold in something that is actually useful.
I mean, seriously, the 240 cap max bank space was not touched since the game was released, back in 2014... In fact, it is probably the only part of the game that was not changed at all...

I think the boar pet is a diversion and yet another failure of ZOS to address the massive issue with storage in this game.

Forcing us to use toons as mules is, without question, the most asinine thing about ESO. ....with lag being a close second, but they are, allegedly, going to fix lag at some point. The storage structure and options in ESO is idiotic at best.

Not to mention the new protocol of making some sets garbage / some meta every three months with the yo-yo combat changes. That set you destroyed because it was junk last month could be the FOTM tomorrow, and vice versa. And with limited storage options, you can't bank a lot of sets for all your characters that may become useful at some point.

Sounds annoying to me. I don’t care if inventory convenience is available in the crown store, but having to have this pet following me around to use it is not going to be fun. Basically all the other pets will be immediately viewed as useless. And in trials, when it’s best to put away pets to help with everyone’s FPS we’re all going to be short 5 inv space compared to outside (which will likely cause problems when trying to swap gear sets if over max capacity).

More inventory space is great, but implementing it through a mandatory cosmetic pet is not so great.

@WrathOfInnos, the 5 slot bump happens when you own the pig, not just when it's out. It isn't like swapping horses back in the bad old days, where 20 or 30 items would just go "poof."

@starkerealm Thanks for that info. That sounds much better than what I was picturing. It’s a little counterintuitive to link inventory space to an unused pet, but forgivable if it means a little inventory relief.

Smh. Then why can't it be earned in-game OR via Crown Store? See, that is the problem, many here cannot sense the bigger picture going on here and continue to support manipulative corporate crap practices like this. Look at all the cool stuff in ESO---it's ALL paywalled. This piggy pet does set a very bad precedent for ESO and what is to come, I saw this kind of stuff coming when they started introducing sky shards and skill lines and here we are. Why can't we just goto a monthly sub model at this point and remove this manic monetization system that keeps going deeper and deeper into the game? Pretty much anyone who plays the game for a length of time goes for ESO+ anyway so make the sub a little cheaper than competitors and free to play up to level 30, etc. Simple. Then maybe the company could focus on the actual game instead of the microtransaction hell it's becoming very quickly. Seems like ESO isn't going to be far off from becoming another Fallout76 to be very honest.

I bet the same that think this stuff is okay would be the same ones saying buying a weapon buff that isn't earnable in-game, etc isn't P2W. We as a community need to open eyes a bit further otherwise the ESO we know and enjoy will turn into the one where game progression is "optionally" paywalled, one thing at a time. Wait and see.

It started years ago. We are used to being like a frog in a cauldron who is being boiled. I left the game many times because I didn't like the direction (ESO+, ridiculous inventory management without ESO+, Crown Crates) but I always came back.

Did u know the No1 the MMO World of Warcraft has more than 200 dungeons+raids? The game where you never get bored, even though the game is so cool, I can't play with it. ESO athmosphere is unique, Bethesda is taking advantage of this.

We are many, everyone has a different tolerance, but once they run out of patience then there will be really trouble. ZOS is on the right track in this direction.

My wife already left this game, she feel like u. Few story content, too much cosmetic items, we can't buy so much items for real money, goals have run out. So far she bought crown store items for gold via gifting, but this direction almost dead. We know only 1 discord server Crown Network, but there 28 out of 30 days are not available for purchase (many would buy, few would sell)

I play without ESO+ and I play alone but it's not so good anymore. The good thing was playing with my wife together. I hope for once she get tired WoW and then we play together again.

There are several Crown seller discords AND I've heard of some guilds where the officers will help you arrange trustworthy crown sales.
I personally look at the not-controlled-market Crown Exchange Discord to see what people are paying then I negotiate a fair rate with whoever I know to be a reliable and trustworthy Crown seller.
