Mount's feet hates water! (Dismounting annoyance)

Please make it so my horse does not dismount me every times it's feet touch about 6 inches of water. A horse is perfectly capable of galloping through shallow water, they can even swim!

I'm not asking for swimming mounts really, just stop with the dismounting nonsense every time Nelly gets a splash of water on his feet!

Why does that even happen?

I only get dismounted if I hit water deep enough that my character would be swimming instead of being able to slog through it. Are you getting dismounted in water your character can stand up in?

Oh, is it a dismount then?! When I blasted into a water body with my newly aquired frozen mare I thought it melted and that's why I needed to swim.

I’ll tell you a secret OP. The shorter your character is the easier it is to get dismounted in water. I know this because my first character, an imperial DK I made as short as possible as a joke but learned the horrible truth when I would get dismounted trying to ride thru the puddles near blackboot while other players on my alliance had no issues.

Yea, it is pretty much deep water. The 6 inch comment seems to be a little melodramatic.

    Just avoid the deep water.

I too would love to see horses swim. Horses could swim fine in Oblivion and Skyrim and I can't really think of a reason why that needs to be different in multiplayer ESO.

I wish mounts could just swim. No speed boost or anything in water, but it would at least save us the annoyance of constantly having to remount.

Horses can swim, wolves can swim, bears can swim, felines can swim, I'm not sure about guars as they aren't real life creatures, but they seem pretty capable of doing so.

Indeed, it just seems pointless to have us dismount all the time. It always seems to happen at the worse time as well, when i'm rushing to get to a dolmen or something before it expires, or a world boss that is almost dead because my pug team didn't bother to wait.

They really should add the ability of mounts being able to swim.

It's quite a surprise that we do not get thrown from our mounts as soon as it beginning to rain.

Irl unless the horse is well trained enough, Loyal or in some instances dumb enough to not question your commands they would be reluctant to enter water deep enough that they are unsure of the depth and footing including water they can walk through. In other words yes they can swim and do so while they are mounted but only when they are not wary of getting their hoofs sunk in mud and be trapped.

The only time my shortest bosmers get dismounted are when the horse enters water that would force them (the bosmer) to swim and that might not be deep enough so that the horse needs to swim but i think the trigger is related to the toons height not the horses height.

Would you rather they had a random chance they would either throw you or stop for a second scan the water and then decide to cross or neigh in objection and rear up and you need to hit a certain button to stay mounted?

...and wouldn't it be cool if we had a fourth mount stat like "toughness" that gave a small grace period before going "poof" in water so we can at least ride through -shallow- brooks instead have the mount go away because there was one step just a -smidge- deeper then the poofing threshold...

Its funny because in this game you can also pull out a swordfish from the same 6 inches of water that you get dismounted from.
