@ChunkyCat great write up. They are a little difficult to compare with being able to reach pretty close to pen cap even with NMA. I think it’s a great addition to toss up some new build possibilities and even make atro on my stam sorc hit pretty decent for a change.

It’s nowhere near mechanical acuity first drop though. That set was wild and bis on most builds in pvp.

The set clearly states "Active abilities". If it also effects block/ sprint /dodge/break free/bash etc.. It is a bug.
As far as I know, the set does not increase the mentioned skills.

    @ChunkyCat
Cannot argue with your results but it doesn't make much sense. Spriggan's got 1972(3450-1487) more pen compared to NMA.
If we take the stamina bonuses on Spriggan's as 200 WD worth~ , NMA got 280 WD more compared to Spriggan's(before buffs that scale with WD). You argue that 1972 pen > 280 base WD. If it was the case, the lover mundus(2752 pen) should have tremendously out preform the warrior mundus(238 WD). It is well know not be the case.

So either something is wrong with your testings or NMA is not preforming as it should.

You preformed your tests with Major brutality on? You should probably also do the test 5 medium armor + medium armor passives as you probably designed this build as a leather armor build(heavy armor builds will probably go with fury).

Overall Spriggans could be better for PvP due to 5% cost thingi and the tanky builds in CP Cyrodiil. but as maximum damage front bar build(medium armor) on average, NMA should do more damage.

Class/Build and environment can also make the results vary .

I tested New Moon Acolyte on the PTS.

Wearing nothing but NMA gear, with an NMA sharpened 2 hand maul, I spammed one attack over and over on a target dummy until I ran out of stamina. Wrote down the average hit (without Crit).

Wearing nothing but Spriggans gear, with a spriggans sharpened 2 hand maul, I spammed the same attack over and over on a target dummy until I ran out of stamina.

Even if I was counting the crits, the base Spriggans single hit did more damage than the base single hit from NMA.

Tested the same with nirnhoned NMA vs. nirnhoned Spriggans. Then I tested nirnhoned NMA vs sharpened Spriggans, and vice versa.

Lastly, I tested with my full gear set up, just switching out the five piece NMA and Spriggans.

    Spriggans did more damage.

Have fun with that 5 percent increase to your abilities.

    how much more damage?

I'm loving my NMA on CP PvP, higher crits than Sprig too.

either way, i have a full set of gold spriggan too with 2H Maul (which 2H passives give it 20% penetration already, so why u need Sharpened trait?), i'd swap it if I feel like doing more damage.

Add your stam and mag. Multiply it with 5%. That is the 'negative regen' the set brings. 1 weapon danage = 1 main resource regen for set pieces.

Do the math for your build and decide if it is good or not. But dont forget you get 5%less stats from all other sources as well like class regens, pots, heavy attack and -5% ult regen.

Note: the regen is same but 5% of what you get is worthless. Every time you get 100 magicka, it will worh 95 magicka.

man that extra couple ult cost can totally throw you off too, quick swap to cast corrosive in a pinch and my ult just blinked at me confused.

I have tested spriggans vs nma with major brutality, 6 med armor, 1 heavy armor, infused back bar masters bow with weapon damage enchant, undaunted mettle passives, sharp weapons, and the lover stone. NMA does win, but it is so slight (like 200 dmg on a crit on a spammable after cp, before battle spirit, resists, etc). Overall, imo it is not worth it unless you really need the stronger heals.

Like adding a set that increases ability costs by 5% in a patch that creates sustain issues across all classes was ever a good idea. I don't care how much damage it does. No thanks.

It actually pairs really, really well with Julianos and Hundings. I don't consider it a hybrid so much as I do a nice companion set to them... I'd say it's more like a better Mechanical Acuity without a proc condition.

I know this will sound weird coming from me, but combining it with Juli or Hundings is a bit overkill. VO or FGD are nice pairings. Briarheart (on a non-StamSorc) wouldn't be the end of the world, particularly on a stamblade.

Sorcs, Nightblades, and Wardens have the most to gain from this set.

That said, you WILL feel the cost increase in long fights.

combined with marksman and slimecraw on a bow bow pvp build its kinda fun as a pure archer. The 5% on each set negates each other and you still get 8% more vs players and another 8% from slimecraw.
