Only 6 people parsed on that list, thats not really a good representation.

In all the trial lists there is a low amount of wardens.

If you don't mind, could you help me explain why is this the case? I was under the impression that warden got a nice leg up in this patch, especially with near perma minor vulnerability and the ability to stack a lot of bleeds.

My Khajiit magicka warden seems really strong, actually. I don't know what his DPS is, though.

Not LeHarrt, but my personal hypothesis is that magdens in particular have had the reputation for being the worst class basically since the Warden class was introduced (two years ago?). TheAsianGod posted his new magden build last week and mentioned that it had been the strongest mag DD class in Scalebreaker. While that may be up for debate, I was shocked at the fact that it was apparently doing so well. I main a magden and my DPS increased quite considerably, but I figured that that was the case for every class and chalked the fact that I STILL saw no magdens anywhere to that, assuming that they were still on the low end of DPS.

I think that people are still afraid to play a magden DD because the stigma persists. My magden is by far the strongest out of my characters (stamblade, magblade, magplar, and magden) at this point, but people just.... don't play it. I have one guildie who mains a magden DD but other than that I quite literally have never seen another magden DD across a huge number of pug trials and dungeons and my guilds in general.

As far as stamden goes... I don't know why it's not doing great- it felt quite strong in the PTS but the numbers indicate that it's near the bottom as far as DPS goes.

As it stands, I don't think that magden will ever be top choice for highly organized groups, since we don't bring anything particularly unique to those groups, nor do we see the same DPS increase as other classes because we can provide our own Minor Berserk from BoP and Major Breach from Fissure. But personally, in my non-elite-but-still-working-on-progression corner of the ESO world, my magden is pulling huge group DPS percentages. If you're not getting a high enough uptime on Combat Prayer or Elemental Drain from other players, you're going to have a massive advantage as a magden because you can easily get those yourself. I suppose others could slot Ele Drain and get it from that, but that takes up an inventory spot just for a debuff, whereas we get it from a highly-utilized damage skill.

I personally think that magden's in a good spot and is an incredibly strong class as long as you're not trying to join Hodor or something.

My magwarden is great.

Heals and buffs the group when doing trials, does a metric ‘satisfactory’ amount of damage as well in easier dungeons and is very capable of handling any solo game content (aside from the fire spitting nutter monk in Southern Elsweyr).

Can do, and does all the hardest vet DLC dungeons and is regularly asked to help guildies in challenging content.

Heals, deals, debuffs enemies, buffs players and enhances group DPS by about 30%. (You know it’s true but it will never show up in ZOS stats, because that doesn’t measure how much my buffs add to your DPS)

What’s not to like?

On the other hand, if you just follow the stats, go for this month’s gimp build...

That's actually what i figured myself, I play a warden too and my first toon at that. I just haven't touched the progression side of the game because shortly after i hit 400 cp on her, the Halloween event started and i was busy leveling up a bunch of other classes. I still play her frequently though, mostly or dailies, and i've noted a DPS increase as well, not to mention the laundry load of debuffs and buffs that all come as part of rotation rather than a specifically slotted skill. Granted, magdens don't have an execute, but being able to contribute practically every essential buff/debuff on a near permanent basis, especially as a bow/bow stamden, should probably warrant a slot no? I'm just asking because now that i'm done leveling the other toons, i figured its about time to start on challenging arenas and trials, but going by the general mood of the game and craglorn, it doesn't seem like i'd find a slot very easily.

in PVP, ESO devs like tank meta. I've seen maybe 1 magden and that player was all defile build to support the group.

I'm playing a Ice mag warden in PvE, running Ysgramore/Winterborn/Iceheart with the Malestrom ice staff back bar. (No tri-focus passive, of course)

It's very strong...better than it's ever been before.
I'm not seeing the class being "murdered" as much as it's getting more playtime from me.

To all of you who say warden is fine/strong or whatever, how many of you run pve content at the highest level. By that I mean optimised groups for VSS HM, VAS+2 VCR+3 and sub 25 min 36/36 vit runs in VHOF and VMAW? How many of your warden DPS would be welcome in such groups?

Nah, Stamdens are still great. Unless you're trying to push high scores in vet trials, you can safely ignore meta talk like this and play what you like.

Clearly we're talking about normal players here, not the top 0.5% of the "leet" class.

My Magwarden Vampire is doing quite well with any PvE content and can even survive PvP land long enough to pick up a respectable amount of AP too. Of course my guildmates and I aren't looking to set any trial records, but we still have fun.

My stamina warden kills it in battlegrounds even wearing a pve build with impen, 10% damage from bird of prey plus the 10% from applying swarm plus a bar with the buffs, and in group pvp you are very usefull for the buff of 8% to all your mates, magica warden has the same 20 % plus damage and critical and spell damage buffs I do not see how is that a murder.

Oh sorry- I was referring to Major Breach. We don't have a class-based source of magickasteal.
