We are currently investigating issues some players are having logging into the European PC/Mac megaserver. We will update as new information becomes available.

My apologies to complainers I've mocked. Zeni, what are you doing?!

Sorry to say. I think the game was released way to soon. There are just way to many game breaking bugs. When you cant even finish the 1st few parts of the main story line. That and a lot of quest that still just bug out. I have had to grind every zone so far due to so many quest being bugged.

I like the game don't get me wrong. But as it stands now. I am not going to give them any more money for this. I just don't feel its right to pay for beta. I have already spent 80$ on it. Same reason I could not part with my money to pay for beta of eq landmark.
Trying to get people to pay you 14.99 a month to just fix bugs prob not going to happen .

They have got so much of a mess right now. That the CC people wont even answer tickets . I know its over whelming , it has to be. Id be pulling out my hair lol

They would prob be better off to bring the game down for 48 hrs and fix stuff. Just add time to the free 30 days.

Yes, Fallen Earth was relatively smooth at launch. Rift had the best launch I've ever seen, and I haven't missed a big-hype MMO launch since 2006. So? A couple of games had great launches. Hardly relevant to what I am discussing. I don't hate ESO, as I said I will be playing next month as well, and I have some faith in Zeni that they will fix their game because there are lots of people complaining. Hopefully enough to where they are worried they are about to lose subs.. I hope to god this game doesn't go F2P because F2P communities make Old school Barren's chat look rational and troll-free lol. With that said, and as I said in my OP, it's getting harder and harder to defend ESO and ignore the issues at hand. All I am saying is that I hope they get their act together.

I want more skill slots available. I think it's complete b.s. when gamers say games that limit you to 5 or so skill slots per hotbar; especially if you only have 2 total hotbars, are about strategy. That is non sense. But Im not saying "ZoMg change that or else!"
I want new classes, or more skill lines, or at least an all melee class that doesn't make non magic users lose 15 + skills because ALL the classes are magic based. Not a HUGE deal nor worth leaving over.

But non stop bugs, and new ones emerging after patches, are going to be hard to swallow in a few months. Not being able to progress is going to be hard to swallow over time. I am an alt-o-holic; but many are not. I feel sorry for those who can't progress who don't find it necessary to have 5,6,7, 8 characters. I have 5 right now; technically 6 but he's just a name-holder until we get future classes, but others only have 1 or 2 and cannot progress ATM. People lost stuff in their banks and bank slots. It might be in-game money, but those slots are expensive and people worked hard (as hard as one can work in a digital world lol) to earn or buy their items. And Zeni. says their fix won't even be retroactive but they are working on a what to do appease those who lost their stuff? People want their stuff back. Duh.

And look at the complaints over CS. I have only used CS once, when my character got stuck in a wayshrine. Couldn't get out no matter what I did. I logged out, I exited completely, I tried teleporting to group members, I tried fast travel, I tried reload UI, I tried /stuck. NOTHING worked. For whatever reason, I suddenly popped out of the shrine and was free the next day. But NO ONE responded to my ticket. It's been over a week now. They don't know (until now) that I got my character unstuck some how. So technically, had I not gotten lucky, my MAIN would be unplayable and CS didn't respond at all. DIdn't even say they were going to check it out. There was nothing.

So please, let's not pretend these giant issues are the same thing as complaining about emergency maintenance, having to restart to fix something, or an NPC being stuck in a dock. These are real issues ruining the game for people and it's going to hurt the player population in the long run, which in turn hurts many of us if we stick around. Without over leveling significantly, we NEED others for certain dungeons and anchors and events and PvP , do we not?

    Rift's launch was gorgeous.
Thank you for mentioning it you beautiful person you.

No, they would be better off redesigning the entire patch system then bringing down the servers for a couple of hours to implement it, then never ever bring down the servers again unless its a weekly maintenance.

I honestly dont know what the problem with ZOS and patches is. Look at GW2, they can spit out massive patches with no downtime - and within 24 hours they have put out 5 more patches with no downtime to fix potential issues/small problems that came up.

Patching ESO seems to be an entire days project, do the developers even want to do it? :/

I'm here to say I'm also starting to lose faith. I am not new to mmos and I expect bugs and understand them. But I don't expect each new bug fix to make things worse. And that is what I have seen. Every new patch has made my gaming experience that much worse until this one were it is now not even playable. I was hoping this one was the one that righted the ship. Oh well. I'm not even trying all these player made fixes anymore. Sucks this game has potential, but this is really a very bad sign.

And most of us understand that as well. Stuff happens. But when they just keep adding extra layers onto the **** sandwich by their own making, and then not even giving us toilet paper, it's not forgivable.

Metaphor aside, it almost seems like they're intentionally trying to sink this game. Every action, or rather non-action, they've taken has hurt them...in a two week time-span no less. Maybe they'll break the record for fastest MMO failure.

The problem this game has with inventory and bank space reminds me of a different game....Tabula Rasa...lots of inventory problems there too.

I think...they should have made a bunch of the items not worth anything not take up inventory space and have a separate system keep track of them....also they should make most fo the crafting supplies simply have a maximum amount you can carry...and not make it part o the big inventory system.

The combat system reminds me of Auto Assault....seams this elder scrolls online even tried to duplicate the good old useless skills that protect from 1 damage every so many second..and maximum number of skill slots.

its funny both those games I mentioned had issues like this game....and got discontinued I think due to those issues....oh well....easy fixes in my opinion...but they wont implement any of it....

I had a smooth EP experience to lvl 41, the only bugs encountered could be countered with a relog. I could not understand the "horrible launch"&"bugfest" posts and still don't think it was. Luck or not, I though the game was super with a few warts. But what is perfect?

However, my char is now utterly unplayable due to a bug and while I did get an initial response from the support quickly enough their advice was unhelpfull and my problem was sent to upper tier. Still waiting.

Not going to wait for long before I cancel, though. It's not the measly money but the principle of it.

Yeah, I'm not seeing a lot of bugs. Some, sure, I still get the game stop for a few seconds now and then, I once fell to my death a lot between coldharbour and starter zone, I had a quest that had to be fixed by relogging and another that needed to wait for a patch. Last night was hideous, tried to get around the patcher not working for ages, gave up, went to sleep and it worked this morning. Then got patch manifest error and the DNS fix suggested in this forum worked. So they have a DNS issue or one or more of the patch servers aren't up to date, that should be fixable.

The biggest frustration from me is the public dungeon boss camping and gold selling spam, even overtaking the phasing that makes grouping a pain unless you do it all the time. They kill immersion quickly, and take the fun away that would otherwise be there.
  • thegamekittenub17_ESO
The launcher got my fiancé and I, but once we finished one of the broken quests was fixed. But I have not forgotten how long it took to get through the fighters guild quest because of a broken part.

The re-logging to fix their screwed up quests is annoying. The public dungeons, I don't even expect any loot from them anymore after having to try for 10 minutes just to hit the boss for completion of that dungeon. Don't know if they fixed the botters issues or not.

Now if they want to pay me for reporting every gold spammer I see (and I thought they were fixing this in the patch notes?)..I will kindly do their job for them. I pay for a service not to monitor a game. I also pay to play a game that is riddled with bugs, continuous down times and very little in customer service or fixing issues. It appears they broke a few things this time. When I tried to get a phone call, it never came. I didn't break your launcher and I should not have to do a song and dance to get it to work, nor hire a choir to sing to you to get a reply about log in a game I paid for.

And filling my inbox in my email about the few gold spammers I did report seems the only thing this company will reply too.

All in all, I don't try to level at any pace, because I am sure that this game will throw a roadblock in the way because of bugs, and Zenimax just doesn't have enough employees to apply the amount of bug spray that is needed to correct these pests.

I love this game. I have some beautiful screenshots that I use for desktops. I enjoy the NPCs I meet for the most. I love how I can create my hybrid and explore or quest..or simply cook. No pressure. But the bugs and the attitude of Zenimax to their customers make me think about that shiny new expansion coming out in the fall from another MMO. I do miss my level capped character and I do know they would also love to have my sub.

It's all up to you Zenimax. I prefer your game...I really do. But can you prove you want this game to succeed enough to bring in the bug busters and keep your player base?

It's actually pretty sad. A lot of my friends put their hopes into this game but we ended up being so irritated, many of them have started cursing that they ever bought this game. I really want them to stick around but it seems very unlikely :(

Not to mention their server maintenance time is chosen very poorly. For us and I guess a lot of other people, after we get from work we want to spend some time playing, but maintenance ends after 10.00pm so we make other plans. For people who work time is much more limited and not being able to play in that limited time is irritating, especially since many other mmos choose their times in the morning.

The launch went so well i was wondering whats up, a few minor bugs, no extensive periods of server downs.
But it is getting worse from week to week, combined with the abysmal customer support and kneejerk "fixes" it is a recipe for failure.

And i am sorry for that, because this game is the first MMORPG for years i really enjoy and look forward to play for some time, but this time round i am to old to put up with the problems for a long time. Customer Support needs to improve, much, and tell us whats going on.
Game development needs to stop hurrying the "fixes" and make the game worse every time.

Also they need to hire some ingame game-masters instead of advising their customers to report every hacker, botter and goldseller, because frankly nobody has that much time.
In low level zones i simply can not keep up with reporting and ignoring gold spammers for example.

WoW has had bugs since release in 2004. As has every single online game in the history of MMOs.

Lets talk about your bugs as people; you all got a patch for that? Yeah, I didn't think so......

Your ignorant comment misses the point of the OPs argument. WoW's patches did not wipe inventories and roll back character progression to my knowledge. I played from Vanilla til the day they announced Pandas and Pokemon.

The OP clearly states he expects bugs but that a patch should not make the game worse. He then goes on to compare how another game would break in a similar fashion every time it went down for maintenance. In 2004, MMOs were a fresh Genre and spending 15 a month seemed like nothing because hey....thats all there was out there ... WoW really had no rival. Today however, F2P and micro transactions are a viable way to go. And although a game like GW2 lacks end game content....it is a far superior MMO than this game currently is. And was a hell of a lot less buggy at launch.

I have to disagree here. F2P MMO's in general are behemoths of disaster, i've played numerous F2P titles and they all are simply horrible.

GW2 was the most overhyped turd game in existence, it literally is a *** game, but people still keep screaming it's ''awesome'' and ''better then insert random MMO here'' because it's Buy-to-play, without subscription.

You will still get bugs in F2P MMO's, but the difference is, they aren't obliged to fix them, and you have no reason to QQ on the forums because well, you are playing for free, so suck it up.

F2P MMO's also have hands-down the worst communities ever, that even rivals League of Legends and Heroes of Newerth, just take a look at the Tera EU forums.

I agree, some bugs are indeed catastrophic to character progression and the bank slots business. But somewhere I think that has something to do with the server technology itself, not in the game-code. That's just my feeling however.

I feel for the people who indeed can't log into their account, or that their entire bank got wiped/inventory or that their character got rolled back for 15 levels. But I feel no sympathy at all for the people who keep crying ''THIS QEUST IS BUGGED FIX PLS OR I QUIT'' or ''BOSS WON'T SPAWN F2P NEXT MONTH''.

That's just being moronic and having no patience, and if you're screaming that, you really have no experience with MMO launches at all.

Also, people should stop treating ''F2P'' as the next messiah, and I can say with 99% certainty that people only promote that horrible system is because ''it's free''. Note the quotations.

I will sub for this game for many months/years to come, and i have every confidence that most bugs will get fixed within now and 2 months.

Stop expecting they can fix everything within 2 weeks, that's being silly and makes you look like a short attention span CoD gamer.

There was quite a bit of down time in early access. No one got the 5 or 3 full days of early access. My fiancé and I had minor issues on launch. Wondered if anything was fixed from our beta testing. Somethings were not.

I quit reporting because everytime I reported gold spammers and their bots (I know the difference), I got two emails from Zenimax..a ticket number and customer survey. When I applied a ticket about issues I was having. I got no email from Zenimax. Made this old lady cranky and I stopped. Why should I report gold spammers and their bots, when they don't even try to help me when I have an issue? I mean I got two emails everytime I reported a bot and that quickly filled up my inbox.

And to be honest this is the first MMO I really really thought could go the score and compete with the other big MMO, but all my hopes have been stomped on so far.

Zenimax, I want you to succeed. I truly do! But that lays strictly in your hands and right now you are not doing a very good job!

This game's launch has been a disaster, like ALL MMO launches, but when things continue to get worse after "fix-updates", it really disheartens the playerbase. With as horrible and entitled as our society has become, how can you even think about having such a bug-filled game? It's starting to smell like F2P around here. You are going to lose a ton of subscribers in the upcoming months if you don't get your act together. I hope you do because I love this game. (hope you get your act together I mean) Please, fix this issues in this game before adding new content! This is out of hand now.

Not all MMO launches are a disaster, the other four I have been in had some problems, but not constant issues that prevented me from playing. Also the bank and logging in to a different person's account issues are pretty severe, luckily that hasn't happened to me, but I feel for the players who went through it.

Our society is not "horrible and entitled". That is the mantra of the white knights. We paid money for a product-in fact in my country it is the most expensive mmo, and we also have to pay a sub to continue using it.

It is natural to feel upset if we can't play or are hit by an extreme bug like the bank issue or if we compare it with our past experience of even f2p or b2p games giving us less of a headache just to play the thing.

I can understand that, don't get me wrong. It's just so tiring to see the same QQ over and over though. :(

I am certain ZeniMax is aware of all of these bugs and they are working on it, it just takes time.

Nothing wrong with having patience, and if people really do get so worked up about it, maybe they should just take a break for several months. =\

I've had my share of bugs as well, quest progress halted(which I was able to fix myself with the help of others), I fell through the world 4 times which caused me to die, dungeon bosses didn't spawn. It is annoying sure, but all it takes is having patience. And that is something i rarely encounter on these forums sadly.

And saying you ''waited 2 weeks for this bug to get fixed'' isn't patience. Something as serious as bank slots, character re-rolls, and dare i say, quest progression, could take some time to fix it.

They have to work within one Megaserver with different phases, and they need to make sure they don't make it worse, or just fix it in one phase and it's still broken in the next.

Sorry for my posts but i need to vent a little, it's just frustrating to see some of these posts, hah. :)

So basically what your saying is your a troll. Go back under your bridge!

Try to be understanding of others rather then bash them for having every right to be upset..

I think considering the number of bugs I have been hit with, to finally get something that literally STOPS me from progressing in anything, then seeing a video of someone who has had it happen more then once and not just with himself.. Talking about how it took them over a week to fix his problem so he could so something.. And how his current problem is small enough to where it could take weeks!

I'm sorry.. But they aren't giving you those days back when you can still log in game.. According to them.. You can still "play" even though you can't progress.. So i'm paying for days that i can't do anything but run around and talk to people or roll a new character.. I have every right to be just out right pissed off.. Considering i'm not the only one.. i've put a lot of money not just into the game but outside of the game for guild thinking this was something i could have fun with for years..

So man.. just be respectful or shut your mouth, but i'll have no more contact with you here, consider yourself ignored absent apology.. Cause unlike 12 year olds.. I don't feel the need to be drug in any further.. Be constructive or be silent.

You see, the others are also venting because of frustration :)

I also think that we need patience, and myself i twink and try again on off hours for stuck quests for example.

There should have been an open beta test, but there was none, just stress tests in low level areas. Now we are paying to beta, and i think this is something to be upset about.

If the company thinks they can do without best practices in the business, they should deliver better than this.
