Im definately not happy but i was happy before all of these changes, at least i was having fun...go back to when stamina had caltrops just before the changes started
and please rewind to then. Now I hate, hate ,hate how combat feels.

So reading the forums i just can't for the life of me see any positive comments on these changes not from pvp or pve or even casual players or new players so who is zos doing all this for? It cant be for themselves if this is the reaction they get.

I love the southern elsweyr questlines and the lore and the cute and funny characters and everything else about it. Thank you zos for not disappointing there. I bow down to the dev teams that made southern elsweyr such a beautiful and fun place but the combat team....you broke my character's ability to enjoy her journey. It's like she is venturing forth with a broken leg and arm ...or broken paw 🙀😿

Who or what is all this heartache for?

Someone got killed in PvP and took a massive hit to their ego. To feel better they came on the forums and complained it wasn't a fair fight because skill X was OP.
And that is when nerfs were born.

eso has performance problems made worse with the heavy use of aoe abilities. So they decided to first make them weaker than comparative single target dots and that didnt go over well here so they made them more expensive instead.

the idea was to reduce overall aoe dot usage by making them strategically useful, which might not be what your used to.

so the changes were made for you to try to make the game run better overall, in combination with other changes.

The combat changes were loaded in PTS over a month ago. Now, it’s been a full week on Live ... and PC players are just now posting their views.

Pretty late to the party if you ask me ...

Not sure why anyone is complaining, the more nerfs the less people play, the less people play the less stress on the servers which means less lag. It's a WIN!

Yeah... cause nobody was posting feedback during the pts cycle were they?!

The changes are for The Potato, the person playing 80 hours per week while purposely avoiding learning basic game mechanics, who loves to complain about dying, but angrily calls anyone who suggests a build change an "elitist."

    1. There was some feedback being given through the PTS, it just pales in comparison to the feedback now because not many people participate in the PTS.

    2. There was some feedback being given through the PTS, but Zenimax ignored most of it.

You don't go to games forums frequently do you? People who happy usually don't go to forums. So, of course, it's filled with complaints. Someone complain things are too easy, dps too high, people are skipping mechanic. Another one said the exact opposite: my dps just drop 10k, now it's too low I can't do endgame. X class is OP in pvp. No, Y class is OP. No its the Z skill is OP...

Well even if it was the real reason, this is how they designed the combat from the very beginning IIRC and also "a heavy use of AOE abilities" happens in about every MMO game I ever played.
You just lay and maintain all your AOEs in all big fights and everywhere.

It’s because 4 players out of the 10 million can hit 100k on a dummy so they think everyone can, therefore nerf everyone

Said 4 players can still hit 100k btw

    Alternative theory:

The recent changes have little to do with whatever intent they have. The dev team probably tried to achieve some minor fixes, such as making some underused skills worthwile. But they completely messed up the actual process, and let themselves be dragged into an escalating spiral of over the top nerfs and buffs.

The question of intent is thereby similar to asking about the intent of an accident in traffic:

    Head_On_Collision.jpg

The intent was to drive somewhere. The result, however, isn't carried by intent at all. And the original intent matters little now.

I mean they always come in with swarms of mobs that get all over us, so how else does one respond to that? No one wants to pick all that stuff off one at a time, that takes forever. If they were that worried about AoE they should have reduced the number of adds things bring in and the sizes of the mob gangs.

After this "Year of Nerfs" i have no idea, for whom their are doing all of this. I see so much "Play the way you want" on any teasers and promos, even on loading screens, wich is actually so funny, cause with each "patch" we have less and less ways to play as we want :D

Zos wanted to nerf high end endgame players, and they did not mind it if everyone else’s dps went through the floor. But end game was their “target” audience. They said this on eso live.

It also does not help that the combat lead hates doing pve content.

What's funny is when these changes were talked about during PTS, everyone said things like, "It's just PTS. You should reserve judgement until it goes live. Then we can get a better view on these changes."

Not that kind of performance.. You already have that. Server performance. Calculations/second applied to everyone at all times while your playing. Aoes are heavy on the server and single target is not.

players asked for performance and zos delivered ... careful what you wish for?

YouTubers and Twitch streamers. Those are the only opinions ZOS cares about.

All it took was a few big shots ranting like "AlL TeH DoTs Is MaKiN MaH RoTaTiOnS BoOoOoORiNg!!!!" and DoTs got nerfed.

    🤪

It drives me crazy when people make these comments. Most of what's on PTS makes it to live and PTS is ostensibly there for people to give feedback, yet you have people saying "relax, it's just a test server."
