Is ESO worth coming back to this time?

Xbox player here, I quit playing around right before mirkmire came out due to pvp performance and just slight boredom. I was recently thinking of coming back to the game as I remembered the fun I had with my friends I met on the game around wrothgar when i picked thw game back up after reaching vet level 5. Before that I was pretty casual in terms of how I played the game. Didn't have any sets or any clue on how I could build my character. It was when I was doing the wrothgar quest that I got a random invite to a guild. Back then, I usually just declined the guild invite as I wasn't too intrested in having multiple guilds but I thought " eh why not". Fast forward to the dark brotherhood patch, I was playing as a nightblade tank for the guild doing vet wgt and icp. I went from not knowing how play my class to being a pretty good tank on a class that wasn't considered a great tank by the masses. By the time morrowind came around we were in full swing of pvp which lasted up to summerset when everyone just got fed up with the bad lag that pvp had and slowly stopped playing. Anyway... back to the actual post.

I've been very loosely following the game's patches since then. And by very loosely I mean I've just been keeping an eye on the warden class to see if they would bring it out of being a meme of a class compared to the others. Loved playing my warden in pvp and playing it as a tank in pve.

Is it worth coming back to after about a year of (for better or worse) changes to the classes, weapon trees, and game in general or should I not bother with it?

Sure, why not. Or don't. How about you play the game and see if you like it?

Yeah, it's probably worth jumping in and seeing what's going on. A lot of people are unhappy with the last patch's balance changes, but that's something you probably want to experience for yourself.

Cyrodiil is still, you know, Cyrodiil. But, beyond that, it won't cost anything to poke your head in and see what's changed.

It's buy to play, and you already bought it- so, why not?

I'd give it another week or two. Console gets hit with the update next week and if it goes anything like it did for PC...run and hide!

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll jump back in but I'm still deciding on where to jump back in in terms of content difficulty

No, it's not a good time to return.

Overpriced stuff in Crown Store, and very bad server performance and nerfs to everything in the game. Many people have already left the game, crown exchange services has tanked , etc.

And ZoS has no intention of fixing this nerfmess they created either.

Take some of the responses with a grain of salt because XBox NA appears to be in a better spot than any other server. I logged in yesterday and Cyrodiil was quite active and there were dozens of people farming every dragon I saw in PVE.

While I doubt it has the highest population it has ever had, it’s still very very populated.
