I'm tempted to delete the character instead of requesting to get it renamed to avoid risking my account... Do you think I should do that? Or wait until support contacts me back.

Reroll would definitely be the faster option, but if you want to keep the progress of the character contacting customer support is the only way, although CS here have been known to be really slow. Also keep your finger cross no one report u again while u wait for CS to get back to you.

I would like to explain: JohnnyTits is actually a character from a web comic that I enjoy, hence I used it.
As for how I renamed myself, yeah, I did something stupid. If anyone could please direct me, I would like to know how to properly contact customer support so that I could rename myself something that can be deemed non-offensive and I can carry on playing the game.

Not only is it offensive but it is also, most likely, a copyright violation.....even better!
What is written above are my honest opinions. If you agree then; "Great!" If you disagree; "Great!" I really couldn't care less either way.

Hey, go ahead, Endolith. It's always nice to see someone who actually understands it (presuming, of course, you do and aren't just bluffing ) and maybe I'll pick up something new too.

Thanks. It's what I do for a living, and I've taught IP law in the past. I usually try to force my fingers away from the keyboard instead of pontificating on the issue, but often people actually do want to know (which is nice, if a bit of a derail).

We lightly dove into copyright in one of my collage courses, just wondering, but DO characters (Such as a side character in copyrighted fiction) fall under copyright protection?

(Edit: This is purely due to my curiosity, I don't mean to sound sarcastic)

Character names don't generally get any copyright protection. They're too short. They can be protected by trademark, however. The character itself (the fully developed traits and so on) can get copyright protection. That's separate and apart from the name.

Of course, any characters depicted in graphic form, like from a comic, also get copyright protection for that depiction.

*Note* I'm referring the the U.S. This stuff can change from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.
