ESO Plus not worth buying?

Hey everyone.
ESO+ is obvoiusly a great thing - all DLC content besides Elsweyr chapter, craft bag, more bank space etc.
The problem is, with current server status and a maintenance every 3 days, I can't really enjoy its benefits.
IMO it would be nice from ZOS to appreciate those people who pay for ESO+ and compensate somehow.
I'm not talking about regular maintenances. My problem is with an out-of-schedule maintenances like today and really bad server performance, when I spent more time on a loading screen than actually playing (and battleground was just impossible to play).
I'll bring out an example: FIFA. Whenever EA has problems with servers during FUT Champions (30 matches which you can play only during a weekends) they extend the time so you can finish those matches so you can (possibly) get a better rank (and rewards).
I don't pay for ESO+ to see a red announcements all the time :(

Another one of these thread? Really? This happens EVERY.MAJOR.PATCH. In fact its not even exclusive to ESO. Ive played many games in which the server performance was shaky the first few days after a major update. A lot of people log in at the same time because " NEW SHINIES!!!" so everyone wants to get in and check it out and see the changes. So the server has issues with the load at first and then it gradually calms down over a couple of weeks as people go back to their normal playing schedule.

Lets be melodramatic over not being able to play for a few hours out of the ~ 720 hours in a month. Go take a nap and stay up later tonight to make up for it. Boom! problem solved.

EU server is crap. Leads me to believe its their data center they picked. I been subbed since original launch. And I'm dropping another year sub in 2 days. Eso has faults but as someone who has played over 4,000 mmos it's not the worst value wise.

    Yeah, this is the problem.

It's no good blaming new content (even if it is poorly timed to coincide with an event), when the server in one location is fine and the one in another isn't.

I only got ESO+ one time, for three months. Doubt I'll get it again. The inventory is not even that hard to manage without the craft bag. It's just not worth spending that money for the game to not work half the time.

Complete ***, I had a few hour window to play as I am going to be gone until early morning starting around when the servers are supposed to come back up. They shouldn't have a system so broke they have to patch every 3 days and EU shouldn't be so broke that it can't function. But keep up thinking this is normal, ZOS needs your money.

That says a lot about ESO if FIFA is a "good" example.

Seriously? Adjusting my life to the game? Besides planned maintenances I should be able to play whenever I have time for it. And I bet I'm not the only one. A lot of people complain that "today I have some time to play and server is off/laggy."
Problem with the servers (but mostly PC EU) is not that it's in a bad state after a major patch. It was like that after last 2-3 maintenances without big updates. Wasn't it 2 weeks ago when we had amaintenance to fix a maintenance when nothing was added to the game but a few bug fixes?

I did this for the first time this week, ‘cause my 17 characters with max inventory just aren’t enough to keep one of every gear set piece I have ever found.

So far, I am only sending stacks of materials to the alt account... that way it will only cost 10g to send 6 200stacks, and then 10g to send them back to put in the Craft Bag when ESO Plus does it’s next free trial (which should be in ~less than a month).

Not everyone is affected badly, if at all, by these sorts of issues. Much depends on your playstyle and the times when you reckon to play as to how badly it affects you. If you are so badly affected that it prevents you playing then clearly there's no point paying to play, on the other hand if you're playing normally but with a few minor irritations then why withhold payment? I've had a single short queue and one disconnect this week, otherwise I've had no issues on either PC EU or PC NA servers and with the delves every bit as full of players as normal for this event. They clearly weren't having any issues either, and the Steam figures - which we keep being told are representative of the game as a whole when they're down - have kept a pretty steady level this week.

Out of schedule maintenance is one of the positive reasons that I use for my purchase decision for ESO Plus. My purchasing decision for ESO Plus is based on the couple of months prior to renewal, and I consider not only the value of what I have received, but how the studio is handling the game.

I don't regularly play EU, but if I was having problems logging in, disconnects, and that sort of thing, I would probably not subscribe to ESO Plus. The negative of that would dwarf anything good that they were doing.

That said, from the NA perspective, emergency patches and down time to resolve active issues in the game, is a sign of attention, and I see that as a positive thing that does not subtract from my decision regarding ESO Plus.

    Yeah, this is the problem.

It's no good blaming new content (even if it is poorly timed to coincide with an event), when the server in one location is fine and the one in another isn't.

except i wasnt blaming content, i was blaming the inconsistency with which people in the EU log on to their server. Because they SPIKE login after patches and at the beginning of events, it drives the server load up to a point of instability. We dont seem have the same problem on NA. This happens every year. The EU server always has frequent problems in the fall and winter because of heavy random server loads.

Could ZOS do a better job at predicting, patching, and keeping server performance up? Absolutely, but that costs more money.
Could players whine less about temporary server problems? Absolutely, but they like to complain about everything.

I came back to this game 5 days ago after being away a few months and 95% of the first 3 pages was whining threads about the game and that was when servers were fine. It was like sitting in a daycare right before nap time. People complain about literally everything in the game. I dont understand, if the game is so frustrating and so aggravating then go play another game? Most of the criticism i see is not constructive, just whining.

So you're whining about people whining? You're criticizing people giving ZOS feedback on their official forums. You know, where devs look for feedback. They're not doing a very good job so obviously they're getting complaints while the game patches on a weekend and it's constantly unavailable for EU customers.

ESO+ is worth buying for what it provides. I can say that as someone who has never subscribe to it.
    What? I am broke.

But as long as it has all these performance issues, ESO is not a game worth investing money on regularly.

Im not whining. You might want to look up the definition. I was actually stating observations. Most of the "feedback" as you call it isnt feedback...its whining. " Oh ZOS broke the game, ZOS broke the patch, WORSE DLC EVER, MagX sucks now, StamX is overpowered, I have to reroll, Crown crates need to go away, witches event needs to be canceled/extended/redone."

Construction criticism is stating something you believe isnt working, is wrong, or could generally be improved and then a solution to fixing it or at least an idea to fixing it. And everyone starts a new thread. There are 58693 threads about how crappy the EU server is because no one can bother going 4 lines down to find the next thread on it and using that one....or the one that is 7 lines, 11lines, 15 lines, 18 lines, 22 lines, etc. down

But i will give you an example of construction criticism:

The Problem:"ESO+ is obvoiusly a great thing - all DLC content besides Elsweyr chapter, craft bag, more bank space etc.
The problem is, with current server status and a maintenance every 3 days, I can't really enjoy its benefits..."

The Observation:"Another one of these thread? The Solution: Go take a nap and stay up later tonight to make up for it. Boom! problem solved. [/quote]

The Conclusion: A problem was presented. An observation was made about how this is normal after major patches and during the beginning of events and that it would subside after a few days. A solution was given to go take a nap and play later when the issue has been resolved. Its a few hours/ days and a couple of dollars and even less Euro's worth of time.
