Request a Crafting Board for Senchal

Perhaps the time has come for ZOS to rethink adding Crafting boards and turnins for DLC areas. It certainly would help boost population levels in them (eg. Hew's Bane, Kvatch, etc).

Senchal is a super fun big city. Probably bigger than Rimmen and yet it doesn't have a crafting board and turn in spot so in the long term it would be hard to make it a home base. Particularly in the case of Senchal I'd love to see it have this functionality.

Please consider adding this to the zone.

I've also wondered why DLC zones never had these. Lots of great cities that you can't do writs in. Senchal is very nice too so I'd like to see this as well.

it went through beta testing, pts testing, and then has been live for some of a week, I doubt they'll just now suddenly realize they should have put crafting stations in there. Rimmen already had a super good convenient one, no reason for every town to have that. Also, it's a dangerous city that's suffering from sickness and poverty, it's not gonna have all the crafting stations an adventurer would need.

Lilmoth would have a ton more people if it had a writ board as it's a conveniently laid out town.

I agree. In fact I went running all over the city looking for the craft board and the writ turn-in place and thinking I just wasn’t seeing them. I’d love to be able to do my daily writs there.

Might want to change that from, "petition," to "request." Since the former is prohibited.

Kinda surprised Senchal doesn't have writ boards. I thought every zone had a set.

Senchal is in disarray from all the dragon attacks and is unreliable as a spot for shipping to and from given all the smuggling, piracy, thievery, and dragons. So as a story line it doesn't make sense to have writ boards there as the area is presently just too unstable to reliably support it.

But yah, i would prefer to hang out in se too.

You mean, the city is in dire need of crafters to help supply the resources it needs, and it makes even more sense for writs to be performed there?

The crafting writs support the effort in Cyrodil

No. Writ text changes depending on the tier you're on. IIRC, Tier 10 refers to the construction efforts in Orsinium. Though, most people don't bother reading that text after all these years.

Orsinium is much more stable, politically speaking, than SE

Orsinium has crafting boards already though.

Which makes sense because they are a stable political entity. Senchal is hanging by a thread. arent those the words of the general?

For Example, Cyrodil is a hot mess and no crafting boards there.

Doesn't matter. The writs themselves are producing goods for... wherever. The flavor text is about four years out of date at this point. Senchal needs writ output.

    It'd make sense.

It doesn't have a write turn in spot though right?

I was definitely thrown off by the lack of writ boards in Senchal. It makes it a little bit of a pain to have to go all the way back to Rimmen or Alinor every day to do the writs, then return to SE where I'm focusing on the content. It's literally just like a couple minutes out of the way, but still as a crafter I would have liked the boards.

i strongly agree that there should be writ boards and quartermasters in senchal as well as other areas, lilmoth, kvatch (or anvil), clockwork city, etc.

i get the comments explaining why they're not there from a lore-friendly perspective, but still, without writ boards in an area, there's a lack of population.

i for one would love to set up camp in lilmoth, or senchal, or the brass fortress, and do my writs, then venture out and just stay in that zone. but since i have to leave the zone to do writs, it becomes inconvenient. i'm not going to leave senchal, go to rimmen, do my writs, go back to senchal. i'd just stay in rimmen.

if there's some sort of lore-based reason as to why there aren't writs, do a work-around. put the writ boards in a hidden spot, i don't know. hide the quartermaster around back. look at senchal...there's a huge set-up for crafting, but few people in it. seems silly that they went to all that trouble to set up that place all nice and convenient, yet you can't do writs there.

Nope. But back in the days, it made sense : we couldn't turn writs in anywhere, just in our alliance base game zones, and only in one of them, which depended on the level of the crafting writs themselves. Higher tier crafting writs were only in Craglorn and later in Orsinium. Also the surveys we got from writs were tied to the zone where we turned writs in.
I don't remember when this was changed, but it was after Thieves Guild. Regardless, if I understood things correctly, the presence of a quartermaster in the main city is one of the notable and constant differences between a chapter zone and a DLC zone.

Now if we want to site lore reasons for the lack of boards, there's definitely room to work for that. Sure, Senchal is under seige by dragons and ***. It's a city full of refugees. You know what refugees need? Stores of food, clothes, medicine. Jewelry could be "exported" and exchanged for resources for the city, to help continue supply of food, clothes, meds. And weapons and shields would become highly desired among the mercenaries who are being hired to protect the mercantile class. Historically, cities under refuge scramble to find resources. Writ boards could be that aspect.
