Too much stuff is locked behind group content. At this point just going to buy tickets to get what I want since playing isn't fun right now. I hate social games like ESO and I feel like ESO has been neglecting its solo player base for too long. If people didn't suck because of the new patch I could soldier on but when a big sweeping patch comes out and your expecting people to do hard content to get stuff its never going to happen.
I want in solo in game ways to earn everything except trials content.

✭The only thing you are missing by not raiding is the gold lootboxes. You can get your daily tickets(and the aforementioned lootboxes) by doing pretty much anything else like delve bosses, world bosses, public dungeons, etc.
If that's not enough for you, than MMO's just aren't your bag.23 -

Very fast level up that is my favourite part. I explore with my new character, dolmens world bosses and do lfg dungeons with exp, I like that way. as solo player2 -

Solo player here. Every kind of Dremora Plunder Skull is earnable through soloable content without a great deal of skill, except trials.
Arenas: normal Maelstrom is incredibly easy.
Dungeons: just do normal Wayrest 1 or something.
World bosses: most base game world bosses are very easy to solo.
Dolmens: very easy to solo.
Public dungeons: very easy to solo. If you're having trouble, the Stonefalls public dungeon has particularly easy bosses -- they are alone with no adds, fight in enclosed spaces, and if you're having trouble, it's easy to run around the corner where they can't get you and heal up.
Delves: this content is intended to be soloed.
None of this content is hard, and I've been getting every kind of dremora skull solo except for trials with no issue. If you're not sufficiently leveled or skilled yet to solo some of the content mentioned above, don't complain about content being gated -- not all content is meant to be available or easy for all players. But for a decently skilled, high-ish level player, the event is almost entirely soloable.7-day PVP campaign regular 2016-2019, Flawless Conqueror. MagDK/stamplar/stamwarden/mageblade. Requiem, Legend, Knights of Daggerfall. Currently retired from the wars; waiting on performance improvements.22 -

Give it a try. Make some new friends and enjoy a guild or group of people to play with during the event. Friends are what makes ESO fun.

You know what, this is a crap way to put it. Yeah, it's an MMO, that means a LOT of things to different people. Some people enjoy that people are in their game selling items and providing the economy while they play the content by themselves. Some people enjoy grouping with people all day every day, some people like doing raids and veteran stuff all day, some people just like doing PvP.
Hand waving concerns with "Umm, it’s an MMO, go fire up a Skyrim save if you want a solo Elder Scrolls game." is probably one of the least helpful, and spiteful crp to be posting in these forums. MMO does not blindly make everything group only. It just means other people are in the game with you, and for a lot of us that's all we want. We want a bustling town and economy with other live people providing what AI cannot. We don't want to deal with grouping, raids, and other aspects.
If ESO was meant to be this way they would not have provided hundreds of hours of scripted content that everyone can do by themselves at their leisure.12 -

✭✭✭✭✭My issue isn't grouping so much as it's time. I'm not even going to be able to squeeze in trials and arenas on the weekends, much less the weeknights, due to a fairly crazy work schedule right now. It just feels to me like an unnecessarily large time commitment to get all the Dremora skulls.

Two out of seven skulls are locked behind group content.... dungeons and trials. The game has an activity finder to help solo players find groups for dungeons. The exception is trials, which should be added to the activity finder. But ironically that is the one thing you don't see to have a problem with. All the rest is solo, nMA is actually nice for grinding xp to.

This mentality speaks volumes. If you truly believe your relationship with gaming is unfathomable by any of the other gamers here, well, I think it's unlikely a game where you have to share anything (experiences, resources, time) with other people is going to make you happy.
This game attempts to treat you like you're special, but you're not. None of us are. You know that feeling when a quest giver says "you're the first person in this tomb in 5000 years..." and 12 other players run past you? If you can't make peace with that moment, if you can't tap into some suspension of disbelief, meh. Don't play MMOs, I suppose?
A (not snarky) aside: The Outer Worlds is getting some really good reviews.12 -

✭✭✭✭✭My ideal game is single player too, but after 4k hours in Oblivion followed by 4k hours in Skyrim, those games are simply too small. I'm satisfied (6.5k hours) in ESO and 95% of my play is solo. The fact that it is multiplayer is a drawback that I willingly live with due to its beauty, mass, scale and decent exploration/combat systems.
The game was (and is) marketed to single and multiplayers both and does a good job at providing plenty of content for all. What has helped me is that I'm not a completionist. The fact that trials, vet DLC dungeons, PvP, are not on my interest list is minor compared to the vast amount of content that is quite accessible to soloists.
The number and variety of events is high enough that if you don't care for all or a certain part of an event, don't worry about as there are always more events in the queue.
As far as top level group gear, if I don't do trials or elite content, what would I need with gear that can only be obtained from trials or elite content? It all works out. Edited by AcadianPaladin on October 25, 2019 6:11PMPC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo6 -

✭✭✭✭✭@Aptonoth, I don't know what your character's level, build, and skill bars are, but my main characters are rather underpowered compared to other players, and so far I've had no trouble earning my tickets each day.
I would recommend choosing a delve that you know you can solo with no problems, and go kill the boss to get your tickets. Unless you want to get all of the motif pages, you don't need to worry about all of the different types of bosses that drop specific pages.
My EU main character is just going for the tickets each day by killing delve bosses, because he isn't powerful enough to do all of the different types of bosses.
My NA main character is a bit better and I plan on trying to solo as much as I can with him. So far this morning he's soloed a world boss, a public dungeon boss, and a delve boss. It definitely feels a little bit tougher for me than it did before Update 24, but it's still doable.I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!0 -

@Aptonoth I feel you so much. My sadness over the loss of BioWare and Bethesda as creative, amazing studios that produced my perfect games cannot be overstated. It's like losing a best friend you thought would always be there for you, and you can only replay even the most beloved game so many times.
I also only came to this game trying to fill my singleplayer needs, and it's the only MMO I've played. 3 years is a long time to play a game that's not your first choice...
I don't really have anything helpful to add, but misery loves company, right?
