I'm so damn tired of trying to find lorebooks that don't exist ...

This happens each and every quarterly update, regarding Eidetic Memory lorebooks:
- For my beloved Kud Nakal, I'm in the same boat as everyone else. Did the quest a year ago, read all books associated with it, and now there's no post quest book neither where you pick it up or where you deliver it.
- Enzamir's note, you put this on top of a cliff in Blades Valley, and now that I have done the prologue and main quest, I can no longer use a grappling hook to get up there. Good job for F's sake, ZOS.
- Tombstone of Naio-Bhefeo, inside the prologue tomb, and after doing the prologue the tomb isn't even there any more, and you're F'ed.
- Vanthongar's Letter, well who knows anymore, questbook from Murkmire, and after having wasted hours trying to find the last 3, I'm not gonna waste another hour trying to find this one all over Murkmire.

Could we not have this happen every 3 months?
Do you specifically hate people who like to collect books?

I believe you can still take a horse to the valley of blades after the quest, but I don't know where the horse is (read it on the forums). You also don't NEED to grapple to it, you can hop over some boulders on the left side of that "cliff".

The tombstone is still accessible if you group up with someone who is at that step of the quest. That's how I got it, missed it too the first time.

Vanthongar's Letter I believe is in a camp in the north east of Murkmire, unless I'm mixing it up right now.

I totally feel your pain tho. Missing only the Dead Water Riddle Fragment and Kud Nakal and it's driving me nuts.

Ah, my good friend. You need only purchase crowns to spend on the Mage's Guild skill line for just 3000 crowns.

So, why do you continue to look for them? Perfectionist that I am, most assuredly, I do know how you feel!!

My primary concern is finding all of the Lore Books in Shalidor's Library. (Refer to the last progress bar on the Map Completion feature for each Zone map.) So far, at least, I know where all except one are allegedly located. However, most of the few which I have not read are in 4-player dungeons that my characters cannot readily solo. So, finding some will require having a partner or two in the endeavor.

When I don't find an Eidetic document in the location shown by the add-on Lorebooks, usually I just search for it in the Journal's Eidetic Library. Then I see where the document is located by using the RMB to display the context menu for its entry. Although the add-on often shows one or more locations in other zones, if one location is in Cyrodill then, in my experience so far, I have always found it at those coordinates. So I make a note about it, and undertake an expedition to Cyrodill from time-to-time.

Other than that, if I cannot find it within a few minutes, then I just move on.

ZOS has been a dismal failure at implementing this TESO feature from Day 1. Occasionally, a developer or "maintainer" undertakes the task of correcting Eidetic document problems that have been reported. The results are often "quick and dirty" and they do not necessarily make all missing, misplaced, or inaccessible documents available. While playing quests with a couple of new characters, I found Eidetic documents which were not available when I previously played other characters in the same quests (i.e., in the same zones). I also found others which were not previously available while pursuing the Cadwell's Silver and Cadwell's Gold quest lines, respectively, with those characters.

If you are committed to finding and reading all of the Eidetic documents in the game, and all of the Lore Books in Shalidor's Library, then I recommend that you regularly read the following discussion and take notes: Eidetic Memory Bugs/Comments/Help.

Happy searching, finding, and reading -- and good luck!

I spent like half an hour trying to find a place to jump up there. Where specifically are you supposed to be able to go up?

Maybe this comment can help? It has a screenshot. @Carbonised
Others have mentioned teaming up with a Warden to get it, so that might also be an option.
