Many dungeons can be done solo now. If you want a challenge try some of them on vet, I have done a few.

I'm less interested in solo dungeons per se than I am in the development of a story mode for the existing 4-person dungeons. There was a huge thread about it a while back as the "yearlong story" arc for this year was announced. The players want story mode for the 4-person dungeons to actually be able to experience the stories without relying on a heavily coordinated and respectful group.

What do you mean "more?" There is not even one "solo" dungeon yet. Sure, you can solo the normal dungeons now, but, there is no dungeon made for one person/player. Also, Maelstrom is not a dungeon, and it is enough solo content for a MMO.

Well if you feel that way then maybe the developers should stop putting stories in dungeons that don’t get seen by people that actually want to see them because of being forcibly rushed. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Just my 2 cents.

For the DLC dungeons, I have found that ll the story is either at the beginning or the end. So I go in ahead of time and chat with the NPC to figure out what's going on, the make sure I'm queued with at least one guildie so the group won't disband before I'm done with the after story.

Everything else happens as you go through the dungeon, so just listen to the NPCs (or put their dialogue in the chat).

I do not think we need a poll that has 3 replies for NO. LOL when I saw that. Besides, the poll is going to be biased as most people who will bother to look at this thread are interested in the idea to begin with. That is why forum polls are entertainment value only. Sorry

Regardless, Zos is aware we like arenas. We have been asking for another vMA, 2 man, 6 man and 8 man type arenas since DSA was added to the game. My personal preference is a 6 man or 8 man before they add another solo.

VMA is a solo arena, not a dungeon. You can solo dungeons as it is. So what you should change your title to is....I want more or another Solo Arena.

Aren't most of the dungeons in this game basically solo content? I mean if I as someone who barely plays the game and gets very lazy with weaving light attacks, ani cancelling in PvE can still solo a vet dungeon, I am sure someone who can manage to stay awake better playing PvE can probably solo quite a lot of vet dungeons.

As for solo and it being an MMORPG, really that is a non-argument in this game, most of the content like 4 man dungeons instanced outside of the persistent world aren't very MMORPG either.

Even though soloing normal and some vet dungeons are pretty interesting challenge, where you can feel how your skill grows, it still feels as artificial challenge. I think if there will set of achievements for soloing dungeons (and some nice rewards for that, at least titles) it would be far more popular and meaningful.

what could be fun is a solo dungeon with a randomized floor plan and randomized enemies, traps etc. where you need to find a treasure that is guarded by a strong boss or something like that...

I think the most fun I had in WoW was being able to run dungeons solo to farm rare mounts and armor. I actually liked the idea of out-leveling legacy dungeons and raids. Let's face it; very few players are going to group with you 400 times to help you get that rare item. (Yes. I did solo a dungeon 437 times in WoW before that dang Stratholme mount finally dropped).

    More solo content period.

Despite a game's status as an MMO, it's just a fact that the vast majority of players spend the bulk of their time in it playing solo. MMOs that try to force players to group tend to die an early death.

Everquest had an expansion that was like this. Lost Dungeons of Norrath. It was meant to be a quick 10 minute dungeon for a group of players. I think at the end you got what was the equivalent of a single champion point.

Man, that was released *16* years ago.

Anyways, it was kinda boring for a whole group, but where it shined were some of them were soloable by the pet classes. You had to be really freaking good to pull it off at the time, so it was a real challenge and took an hour or so to do. I played a Necro back then and it was a blast. Necros could solo anything really, they were so ridiculously OP in every aspect, but you had to be good at spell weaving, which a lot of people really didn't care for. Not too many Necros in EQ, but I loved every minute of it. Still my most favorite class out of any MMO.

Every MMORPG that has taken the "we'll add content to FORCE players to group-up" approach has seen only one effect from doing so - declining player numbers.

The only dungeons I have ever run were during dungeon event time. I did PUGs. Every single one was - readysetgo!

Technically I had interaction with the quest givers. Have no idea what they said. No idea what the main goal of the dungeon was. Just a continuous rush-through-get-it-over-with by the rest of the party.

Why would people call that 'Fun' ?

Would be nice to actually PLAY out the dungeon.

If ppl want to play in a group (endgame)that's fine and dandy. There are about 30 or so undaunted 4person dungeons with different levels of challenging modes.
If they want to play 4person gameplay ( under 50) there are 20 or more group delves at their disposal.
If you want 12person gameplay there are 7 or 8 different trials waiting for them to go get some!
But solo gameplay ( endgame ) content .........1..........vma

It'd be cool if all the instanced content could calibrate itself to your party size.

In a dungeon solo? Get the solo version - difficult, but not impossible, and multiplayer mechanics are disabled.
In a trial with only 3 people? Now you can actually do the content.
Wanna run VMA with your 12-man group? Go nuts. Have a super hard, super cheesy party.

    Etc, etc.

Could we get a two man something? An arena, probably, but like I would prefer a two man over more solo instances. Or both, I don't mind both. But really two man content please.

While I agree this is an MMO, I don't understand the stand against solo gameplay. Vma has been insanely popular and is a classic in my opinion. But why only one?

    Is VMA actually "insanely popular"?

    That's news to me Somber.

Definitely. EQ1 was bad about that forcing groups if you wanted to accomplish anything.(i played from launch plus 10 years steady, plus 3-4 off and on) while I enjoyed the guild play being forced sucked. Along comes WOW on easy mode and much more solo friendly and everyone's like EQ who? ESO don't be like EQ before mercenaries...

Long ago, Guild Wars instanced all of PvE and scaled it for groups -- but provided NPC allies you could group with rather than other players. That worked well, as NPCs sufficed easily for all but the hardest content.

Further, allies -- PC or NPC alike -- shared the loot from kills, so for serious farming you had an incentive to go truly solo. And my Ether Renewal builds were, for a time, one of the best sets of solo specs in the game. :)
