Your recommendation for a character

Good morning guys!
So being pretty new to the game I recently hit 200 cp on my warden, having played around with both stamina and magicka versions of it.
After getting some info from the forums on your favourite classes, I want an alt, and I'm going to use one of them as a stamina and the other as a magicka character. The Stamina one will be used to pve DPS and pvp, and the magicka one to heal and pvp alike.
My question is, if it were you, would you convert your warden into a stamden and make a Magplar or would you use a Magden and make a Stamsorc? These are the classes which gameplay most appeal to me. What would you recommend?

So basically stamsorc/magden vs stamden/magplar

Thank you for your response, very undecided at the moment haha

    Stamsorc/magsorc.

Sorcerer is most popular class in the game, by big margin. Which means you have better chances to have good patch then other classes. For other classes it is random game, you may be god-tier one patch and then be nerfed into oblivion in next.

Personally, I have a stamsorc and a magsorc, both are viable and fun, but my magsorc does significantly more dps (admittedly I am far more focused on magica than stam, so it lends itself to my play-style and preferences). Sorcs survivability got nerfed so do bare that in mind, it is noticeable during game play, but I am adapting with practice.

I also have a magden healer, a magplar healer and a magplar dps.

Magplar dps feels fantastic, the skill choice is great and fun, visually and practically, I do good dps on my magplar, though not as much as my magsorc, but the magsorc is optimised with gold gear and very well practiced, so I am looking forward to seeing how I fare with a fully optimised magplar and improving with practice. Because it just feels more me than a sorc.

I also have a magplar healer, and without a doubt its better than my warden, necro or nb healers. It just has a perfect skill set. I used to main a magden healer, until I made a magplar one. Never looked back. Magden works, but you have to work harder and its a bit more fiddly in my opinion.

ps, I mainly pve, but my magplar seems to do pretty well in pvp Battlegrounds compared to some of my other classes.

pps, I also have a themed fun build of a magden dps, way way off meta, but it still does pretty good dps and is surprisingly fun to play.

Dunno if my rambling helps but, happy gaming :)

It does help a lot, thanks for your reply! I like my warden a lot as well, that I am keeping for sure. You're making me inclined to go with a magplar too eheh

Sad but this is a fact. How can a company send such a great game into the crapper like that I'll never know.

Yeah I know, frustrating to spend time on a character just to see him being put down slowly but surely

Stamden has been and I'm pretty sure still are notoriously easy in PvP (3 button combo) so if you play no-CP, I'd go with that and Magplar.

Heal wise, Templar obviously - But, Templars have no mobility so can't really do a lot to evade and we are very squishy if you build for damage (At that point, Templar and ESO experience rules all) but since you're talking about healing, you're safe to build for mitigation and sustain coupled with vampirism. Then it's just a case of making sure you get a group to keep you safe whilst you heal them.

You'll probably grow to hate that style of Templar play but that's the 99% and it's easy enough to do, especially if you're new to the game. Just don't expect to kill targets on a heal specced Templar.
    vMSA - Magplar - Xbox EU - 15/11/16
    578,000 - 36 Minutes 58 Seconds (Top 2 World?)

vMSA - Magplar - Xbox NA
    569,000 - 40 minutes (350CP, Non optimised runs)

Hmm, don't really want to be a one to two button pony if you know what I mean haha

I can appreciate that but honestly, until you're at a decent CP level and have enough experience you're going to struggle against quite a lot of Max CP's and especially strong players, no matter how good you are.

Those 2 are probably the easiest to play in those respective roles.

If you want to know more about Templar these are both decent threads with A LOT of build and playstyle variety - Also where you wanna ask your Temp Questions if you go that route:
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/416459/class-rep-templar-feedback-thread#latest
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/447514/templars-pvp-detailed-guide-suggestions-advice-etc-elsweyr/p76

A lot of things are 1-2 button at the minute (Look at any stam char running dizzy & onslaught) it's all equally skill-less so sometimes you just have to take what's there and whilst you're low CP I wouldn't be concerned about that because it might still take you a bit more to get the kills with those classes whilst you learn.

Give yourself the advantages as a beginner and move away from them as you get more confident imo.

Also one more tip I think anyone interested in PVP should do is duel - Go to wherever the main duel spot is on your platform and duel people between BG's or downtime etc; You'll lose over and over again at the start but be content with losing and learning until you just don't lose as much anymore. Then you get used to kiting and positioning against multiple enemies, but know from your duel experience, if you can split them or catch them apart slightly, you can bang them one at a time, real fast.

Greatest feedback I've received since I started playing. Thank you for taking the time, I really appreciate it!
