Who else cancels ESO+ when they want to run random dungeons?

are dlc dungeons really that much more difficult? I've always enjoyed them becuase they're more varied and different compared to vanilla ones. that being said I rarely do dungeons, other than solo delves.

Depends on the definition of difficult.

They have mobs with more health than the base dungeons, and mechanics that are more unforgiving and not always clear if one has not done them before.

I think one of the disconnects is that all things being equal, they take longer and have a higher risk than the base dungeons, and for those just doing the daily random for the XP, they add time and potential frustration without increased rewards.

could be. myself i hate doing the same content over and over so the most variety the better. others prefer to do all the time the same things i guess...

Everyone saying that the answer is to pick specific dungeons instead of randoms is overlooking an important point. (@ZOS_RichLambert some things to consider here).

The huge xp bonus for running random dungeons is specifically appealing to newer players. It was touted as one of the cp catch-up mechanics. And at the same time the difficulty of dlc dungeons is specifically off putting to those same newer players. It’s really not a great situation.

And the ever increasing number of dlc dungeons means that odds of getting one as a random are high. With the upcoming Undaunted rewarding random dungeons, we will see the frustration amplified. The skill gap will be highlighted, and the event will further divide and disrupt the player base instead of bringing it together. .

Personally I love the higher difficulty dungeons but I hate getting them on pugs. I will bail 9/10 times.

What's the point of ever doing random dungeons?? Purple training gear from level 2 with 50% exp boost, a character takes 7 hours from 3-50.

If you need skill points, the fastest way is to just clear all the public dungeons and grab the sky shard in each one. After that, you'll probably want Undaunted so you get the quest and skill point from dungeons queuing the specific pledges each day.

If you queue random dungeons then have to do them for a pledge later on it's not efficient. Though I am a PVP player so I don't understand the issue with DLC dungeons to begin with, especially on normal.

These are the posts I never understand, having played the game for 4 years.

3-50 in 7 hours.... not days.... Hours. ... HUH???

What waterfall of constant XP are you standing under? Is this come competition - the next post is gonna say 'I can level to 50 in 5 hours! ' and then 3 hours... and then 5 minutes. wtf

I don't know what the shortcut is, but I do know what you are Not doing - you're not playing the game. Quests take a physical amount of time, has nothing to do with XP abd bonuses. You can have +150 scroll and +100 event with your ESO+ bonus with training gear and you are not going to level 50 in 7 hours by playing the game. I've run dolmens. Your not going 3 -50 in 7 hours running them either.

So where does this boatload of XP come from?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

I do not run group dungeons in the game because 1) I'm afraid of being terrible and 2) I don't know the content (see #1)

That being said I would like to do so at some point!

One thing I have been thinking about is a special "learning mode" for players who have not run dungeons before. The difficulty of DLC dungeons would be scaled back (as would the rewards, of course, to keep it fair) and it would give players like me a chance to get our feet wet and learn the maps and mechanics without being deathly afraid that we're going to get called bad, told to l2p, cussed out, cause the group to fail, or otherwise having to deal with PUG drama.

To that end, it would be nice (as someone stated previously) to separate queues for "random dungeon" and "random DLC dungeon."

One of the very, very first graphical "MMORPG" I played many years ago -- I was in a guild at the time, and was voted "Dungeon Master" of the guild. It was my job to teach new players the layout of the dungeon, how to do the special quests, character builds/equipment, etc. What if ESO could add the ability for a player to become a "Dungeon Master" (not sure what criteria?) who was willing and able to teach new players and had the patience to do so? A "learning mode" such as above could then be led by at least one player, the Dungeon Master, who could guide the group to success (or opt out when they wanted to run more challenging content.)

I could never cancel ESO+ (my craft bag alone has something like 3,500+ items in it) and I agree that it is a shame that people are choosing to give up on all of the rewards ESO+ membership offers just so they don't have to deal with what is apparently frustrating, complex, and time-consuming content that is not suited for more casual players or those with time limits.

I started in July and felt the same as you! I felt better when queuing with at least one other person from one of the guilds I’m in and who knew I was new. Most of the random people I’ve been grouped with have been considerate, many even very helpful and I found a great guild through random dungeons. :) It might be easiest to start with a character level 15 or so as you’ll only get the easier dungeons that way.

Some of the most enjoyable dungeon runs I’ve had were with a guildie and two other people from queue, with most of us fairly inexperienced but working with together to overcome a difficult fight. :) Victory is all the sweeter for having to work for it and knowing that I contributed and wasn’t simply carried along.

Xynode gaming has a series of "All About Mechanics" dungeon guides on YT that walk you through them. Can recommend.
