CP 1000+ 5 star player problem

Maybe they got 5 stars back in the time, where it was fun to PvP. Many guilds PvPed against each other. They haven't been in Cyrodiil like myself in ages. They come back to a game that has completely changed META and everything. Therefore of course they would seem like a noob before you.

I'm guessing you play exclusively CP PvP. So that could be a thing to if they got their PvP merits in Non CP PvP environment like myself. But gets destroyed by you in CP PvP.

But it seems like you are just another toxic PvP elitist. That came to the forums, to pat yourself on the back. While kicking others into the dirt. I hear LoL is a good game for your toxic kind.

Or maybe they have been playing every day for the past 4/5 years? how are we supposed to know

    They wont break free
    They wont keep buffed up
And sometimes they do as little as spam light attacks
These players have all this proof that they have been playing in cyrodiil for a really long time and yet play like they bought the game 3 days ago
Now look I'm not trying to be toxic here and I know it sounds like it. But whether you've always been a boss at any game you play, or someone who just games for fun. Having this much CP and being the literal max rank in PVP. That time spent getting there should atleast learn the game to a point where you can hold your own against other players. And yet these players will die within a matter of seconds

I'm sorry but what does it matter? really! as long as the people are having fun and enjoying themselves why should it bother you?

Since the game has been around for many years a lot of them have accrued AP through large group action. Not all PvP players are great at 1v1 and some play support roles rather than pure DD. Meta's change and people take breaks too, so you may be witnessing a old head coming back after a long hiatus.

It does still raise eyebrows when a grand overlord gets burned down quicker than expected.

    Who cares

They obviously do because there the ones who always ask for these constant pvp changes and nerfs to this or that when it's fine as it is but are never content with what ZOS gives them

The majority of nerfs on these forums come form people who think they are 1vXers who whine to ZOS how because certain skills and sets are overpowered, they can't 1vX.

I find it funny when people think that other players are taking the game as seriously as they are. Players don’t have to give 110% best at all times...
Not to mention that this game has to many flaws to Be taken Seriously...skills don’t fire.. bars don’t swap....random loadscreen...
This isn’t a serious competitive gameplay environment...just have fun...
Lots of us are running around naked with over 810 CP but playing with no cp or reduced cp...I play with 360...it makes fun...it makes it more challenging and winning all the more enjoyable

Well, with so many long-time players leaving the game lately it's reasonable to assume that some of them sold their accounts.
And cp level means nothing these days with all those exp boosts and grinds.

I ran into a cp 140 former emp a few months back. Didnt know how to play at all, like at all. But this is how its always been. The worse performance gets the more people will zerg and the less competitive the game will get. This naturally makes people bad. And these ranks and achievements mean nothing. People get 5 star and dont know how to CC break. Same with emp.

But again its always been like this.. The thing is that zos has created an environment that promotes people being bad at the game while at the same time offering no incentives to get better. Even in the past people used to aspire to get better like the people they see in game, or streamers like sypher or king richard. But they've chased so many good players away by letting the game deteriorate with performance, constantly nerfing everything, and putting in stupid broken sets.

Why not just play in a 100 man zerg? You can still win, get AP, play with your friends, get hard achievements, and not have to worry about performance because you have 99 other people to back you up. This is the way of the future in a lot of games and especially in eso. Everyone gets a trophy.

I think most of us that have been around know that alliance rank and total CP say nothing of player skill.

Heck, even begin on top of the leaderboard of any Cyrodiil campaign does not indicate any level of skill, just that you are spending a lot of time in that campaign keeping busy. I know many Emperors who did a lot of wall repairs on their way to gaining that title.

we arent talking about that , talking about them ot even understanding the basics of the game

There is always someone that needs to have it broken down for them slowly and gently. Thanks for offering up a teachable moment though.

My point was explaining why it might LOOK (to you) like they don't know the basics of the game.

    Example:
Last night I was on playing with 2 newish set combos. All purple. Two pcs of jewelry were blue. Didn't even have enough of the correct combinations to even wear a monster set, so I just threw on a couple of pcs from a third set.

The CP points, traits and enchants were either random or were deliberately skewed to try and maximize the tactical effect I was exploring. Total glass build. Zero impen and zero crit resist. Build resistance a joke. Stam regen was super low. Yada yada. Skill bar was constantly changing.

The above should be enough to figure it out but just in case, but I'll continue slowly while I'm doing morning coffee.

Stam regen super quickly (and didn't care) all too often couldn't even dodge roll or break free. Total glass meant a few good shots and I was down. A few times was even running without a self heal slotted just to try a few more combinations. Constantly changing out skills and locations on the bar meant quite a few wrong buttons or swapped to the wrong bar.

So what did YOU see last night. A plus 1000 CP, 2 (3?) star, who most of the time couldn't sprint, block, heal, dodge roll, or break free and frankly didn't even care to try all that much. A Stamden who for a time who was throwing around Growing Swarm and Caltrips as their "opening" combos skills etc and who forgot where he'd just moved the heal on the bar when it was even slotted. (I just needed dots, dots, dots, any dots, for the proc.) Yea a total joke for anyone looking. All I was looking for was "data" before insta-death.

FWIW, was promising enough that I'll probably farm the 2 missing pcs and go back in again tonight with the toon far more balanced and then switch out 1 set with another possible alternative. When you are on console, LIVE PVP is your test environment and I spend a lot of time in LIVE PVP testing stuff out these days. And as ZOS is moving pretty fast with large wholesale changes I'd say at least 1/2 of my PVP time has been like this recently.

I’m not even sure what 5 stars means, is it related to gear or pvp playtime?

The number one issue is lag for me. Especially when a whole faction rolls together attacking.

When you’re fighting 100+ members of another faction the game doesn’t perform well. There’s also cc stacking where if multiple forms of stuns/CC’s are on you then break free doesn’t work. I think the game gets confused on which to break and nothing happens. Forget about cc immunity too, there’s no such thing in large scale.

Looking for any guildies I used to play with:
    Havoc Warhammer - Alair
LoC EQ2 - Mayi and Iskiab
PRX and Tabula Rasa - Rift - Iskiab
Or anyone else I used to play games with in guilds I’ve forgotten

Regardless of rank, everybody just has those chokes from time to time where they die alot quicker then they planned.

Although for the like 10th time, these are players who have both over 1000+ cp AND max pvp 5star ranking. Yet don't know how to break free. Don't know how to buff themselves. Don't know how to dodge roll out of certain stuff. And takes them several seconds to realise what tf is even happening & by the time they do there most likely dead.

GO obviously means you have spent alot of time in PVP. Regardless of how you got there. Which would mean by now you should have a pretty good idea of how the mechanics of PVP work right? These type of players don't. I know it sounds like im just being toxic but i'm calling it how i see it
It has nothing to do with how many GO's myself has killed, thats an entirely different subject.

Now look if these players want to try and get better thats fine. There's hundreds of guides & content creators out there that can help players hone there skills.

Even as little as going on twitch just watching a pvp stream and asking the streamer questions about pvp can give you a larger understanding then what you already have. Focusing on there gameplay is also helpful. Where they position themselves. How they manage there sustain. How they pick there targets, ect ect

There is several ways around the skill gap in ESO

You've received so many possible explanations from different players (latest example was from @BrokenGameMechanics ), but you'd rather repeat yourself 10 times than accept one of the explanations.

Yikes. Here's the thing, you are running on an awful lot of assumptions about humans you have no idea about. I know you said you don't care about people's life stories, but you are getting one here anyways, because this is a forum and I can type out whatever I want too.

I've been PvPing for about 2 and half years. I have over 1100 CP and am a fairly high Alliance Rank. I do not know everything. About a third of the time skills don't fire, including breaking free refusing to dam work. I can tunnel vision too hard sometimes and YOLO myself into situations where I die fast. I can get distracted by something else I'm doing (listening to a streamer in the background, reading the hilarity in zone chat, something in real life going on) and not play my best. If someone who is spectacularly good at PvP is nearby, or one of my least favorite gankers, I'm for sure going to die.

My point is, you have no idea what is going on. So while you cannot seem to move past whatever in the world you think is going on, I think you need to back down. You are being awfully judgy and you care too dam much about what other people are doing in Cyro. Maybe just try to have fun and spend less time being offended about 5 stars you see as sub par.

I’d also like to point out that death is the easiest way to get somewhere else...lol
I couldn’t tell you the number of times I’ve suicided just for a quick trip (assuming no long load screen...lol)
And since Skilled players recognize when other players are trying to suicide...they often stop attacking...thwarting your suicide attempt...sooo you engage an enemy with full force...than just let their damage stack while you just light attack appearing to continue fight...
Soo long story short...you helped someone respond to a 911 call at a keep..
