Why not a house we can purchase with alliance points?

Isn't it usually like a 4 (or 5) to 1 ratio for AP => Gold?

So a house like Ebonheart Chateau is 3.5 mil or so (can't remember, but that sounds about right), which would be close to 15 - 20 mil AP. So that seems about right. Smaller houses should cost less AP, but let's be honest do you really think this will happen? Good idea though. +1

Perhaps about 5 million AP. Obviously it would be PVP themed. It could have a couple buildings, maybe even a replica of a resource tower. Heck, why not a replica outpost?

I'd buy it. Would be kind of a nice Apex PVP award.

5mil? You mean like 30million AP. A 5million AP house would be one of the cheapest in the game when converted to gold.

You go that route and make it impossible for PvErs to achieve...
    It’s intended as a reward...not a PvP exclusive

You have to understand though that 5million isnt a a lot of AP for pvpers to get and if your making the house a pvp reward then your standards arent pve players and if they have an easy time farming it. It wouldn't make it PVP exclusive either as any pve player can fairly easily go into pvp and start saving ap. That's what I did when I couldn't afford the pvp motif styles with gold, I farmed up 9millionish AP.

I don't spend a lot of time in housing but how cool would it be to be able to use all those sieges and flags and such on a "house" designed to be bought with AP, especially if it was a keep or outpost design? I would buy all the things and then show people how proper defenses were supposed to dam look lol

I haven't been PvPing as long as a lot of other people, and I have spent a ton of AP on various things, still sitting on close to 20 million AP. 5 million AP is a pretty low number for a house in my opinion. But maybe that could be a low/mid tier place and we could have something exceptionally amazing for a higher amount.

I can agree, I got into PVP because I wanted a scroll replica for my Forsaken Stronghold. I'm now less then 1million AP away from Grand Warlord. I think what a lot of people fail to understand is it is very very hard to do just stand alone PVP and that alot of "pvpers" have more experience in other areas of the game then they realize.

I'd also like to note every home is purchasable with gold either in game or via crown trading

I think you are getting caught up in the reward thing when you should be concentrating on the PvP themed home that can be purchased with PvP earned currency. It is easy to make gold and purchase houses. It should also be comparable in time/difficulty with AP. I think it is a good idea because it might get more people interested in PvP. I have friends that complain about having to PvP just to get Vigor or some other skill. If they had an added incentive of also being able to get a home maybe they wouldn't go into PvP with the negative attitude and find they like it. PvP needs more players and this might be a way to get them.

Would be nice if they take it a step farther. There has been a call for weapons racks, armor mannequins, and the gear to go on them since housing began. ZoS could add these items and plans to make these items to the game and make them AP exclusive. Would be a good way for PvP'rs to make some gold selling armor and weapons as furniture. Would also give more players another reason to enjoy PvP.

I will state this again, and I'm not trying to be mean. Gold is easy to make and AP is just as easy to make as gold, it is already comparable in time/difficulty with AP. That is why the rate exchange of AP to gold is about 4/5 AP:1 Gold, the time/difficulty rate has already been established.

You're not going to get people interested in PVP at all if they are already complaining having to earn 400k AP. I think adding a house for AP would just see more rage posts because people would think of it as being "locked" behind pvp.

Why not make ALL of them purchasable with AP? I don’t PvP THAT much, but why not give it as an option to players who do?

All the gold purchasable houses should be able to be bought with AP.

At the Golden Merchant it's 2 to 1. Where are you encountering 4 (or) 5 to 1?

Also, how about a private room at the inn in your faction base? Perhaps not for AP, but as a perk for High Overlords?

I think it's a fantastic idea. There is absolutely no reason why the PvP players should be locked out of buying housing with their main currency. I mainly PvE but in my desperate need for transmute crystals, I have begun going in to Cyrodiil on a regular basis and one thing I discovered... that place will make you poor in PvE land! Mats, sellables. gear etc falls into my lap outside Cyrodiil. I can't play 1/2 hour without filling my inventory.

PvP in Cyro, I can be there for 2 days and have 5 pieces of mundane superior armour to show for it. You drink potions like water and if you're a crummy PvP'er you blow gold on Seige weapons :D. The AP to gold exchange rate is pathetic as a source of income and really, the market (Hakeijo and Militant Ordinator motifs) is so niche. Let them buy houses and even a Unique AP only house as PvP players.

It does not put it out of reach for PvE players, it'll just take more time for me to earn it in Cyro. Every single day gold based houses take a long time for PvP centred players to buy them. I believe the average PvP player is meh about housing but it would only be fair to give them the option, in my opinion.

False! A lot of us actually do enjoy housing.

This is a great idea actually. An AP exclusive home is asking for trouble though. Can't wait for the PVE crowd to complain in the forums that they can't get one home because they don't have AP.

Let them (us) complain. Perhaps they'll broaden their horizons ;)

No doubt there would be a lot of rage posts about it. Something is always "gated" somewhere that someone doesn't like. Weapons in vMA, monster helms and motifs in vet dungeons, passives/abilities in both PvP and PvE. That doesn't mean that it shouldn't exist though.

    I like the idea personally.

I also have a nice house or 3. I think when we play certain types of content more heavily than others that sometimes our circle of friends reflect that and skews our perception a little.

Are houses now giftable? I hadn't read anything that said that ZOS is now allowing players to gift homes. So, at this point in time, there are still houses that are CS only and thus not purchasable with gold.

But, back on topic, I don't see any problem with PvP exclusive homes. I don't PvP AT ALL and no house would encourage me to do it, but I'm certain it would encourage some to do so. It's my choice not to PvP, so I have no right to complain if there might be something locked behind PvP that I'd like. If I wanted it badly enough, I'd do the content. Otherwise, I should just shut up about it. :D Or buy it with gold if possible (like MO motif and Akaviri - which I bought way before it dropped in the Anniversary boxes).

Now, if we can just get an exclusive home for crafters, for writ vouchers...

As a PVPer, I'd prefer ZOS to price the house based on a reasonable amount of AP for a player who is actually PVPing as intended, as opposed to a player who is boosting.
