Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – April 8, 9:00AM EDT (13:00 UTC) - 6:00PM EDT (22:00 UTC)
We are currently investigating connection issues some players are having on the European megaservers. We will update as new information becomes available.

Two hours on PRIME time with no updates

Not like we pay to play the god damn game or anything.

Every time they take the server down for an entire day like this they should extend our sub-time the same length of the downtime and add it back on the timer. Only fair.

There was another game that had issues with hamsters getting tired in their wheels. That game actually gave free subscription time for the people playing on the affected servers.
Zenimax should learn from the experts in the field.

To all the US peeps ; or NA peeps like you want to call it ; EU servers have separate maintenance times outside Prime time EU. This is an unannounced downtime , so something big must be up. On the other side , seeing the exploits that are in-game since launch , i don't think it validates to take servers down during EU prime time. IMO it could have waited till the standard maintenance slot.

Well... looks dark for the EU people with jobs, school and similar stuff... At least if the server stay down for another hour or so.

Was looking forward to playing after I got home while at work today so kinda disappointed about this constant prime time maintenance going on... Last week, same thing.
Looking forward to when they move the EU megaserver to europe, less lagg, better maintenance... Good times.

3rd time in my free 30 days you have stolen my ability to play well Fricking done, Not only did i NOT get to use my 3 days early access apart from 5 hours but now when i finally start to enjoy the game you ruin the EU play time.. awesome start, can i ask is it the hamsters that failed or the Chimps your employ ?

There is prime time. Just log in at 7pm cet and at 9am cet.
And see how many people are there online running. Prime time means most of the playerbase playing at that time.

there is no such thing as "prime time" its relative to the person. no matter what time they take servers down it will be "prime time" for someone somewhere. the world does not revolve around each person individually. its impossible for them to take the servers down at a time that won't interrupt anyone.

Wrong. If you have a dedicated EU server there is such a thing as prime time. Yes, it's +/-1h depending on whether your life in the far east or west of the EU but there is still such a thing as teh "EU prime time".

ZOE decided to shut the servers down right when that EU prime time started. People just came home from work and wanted to play the game they pay - or are going to pay - a monthly fee for but they can't. And that's not acceptable, no matter what the TOS might say. [As a sidenote: It is questionable whether the TOS are even legal and valid in the EU.]

We understand the frustration around today's maintenance windows, but in order to keep this discussion open, we need everyone to remain constructive. Maintenance times can be a contentious issue, and while we don't expect everyone to agree, we do expect those who disagree to do so civilly.

As for today's extended maintenance, we'd like to point out that our scheduled maintenance windows normally only last a few hours, and today's was an exception.

People losing inventory and being logged into someone else's account by system, losing skill points, losing gold, let them fix that stuff before it happens to me. Please, take your time and do it right. Thank you.

Remember the NA and EU servers have different uptimes. They said early afternoon for EU and evening for NA.

To the issue at hand, servers are down until later today, nothing you can do about it, stop whining and go do something else.
Basicly what your saying is that we should accept getting screwed ?

Next time you go to the market to buy something to drink, I hope the cashier opens it up and poors out half and charge you full pay for it.
    - Stop whining and accept it. Its our new policy to screw our paying customers.

This how I and all others complaining feel about it.
We are paying money to be able to play and when we are forced not to be able to play, we are not getting what we paid for.

Next time I see this *** happening, Im canceling my sub.

It's really bad that the server is always down when everyone in the EU gets back from work, seriously, horrible in my opinion. (not always, but this is not the first time either).

Worst part is, theres not a single update about the maintenance to be found either.

certain people from a certain part of the world could start using that grey matter between their ears and develop what's commonly knows as a "common sence" and think for themselves that the op probably meant/was referring to the EU server... doesn't take many braincells to figure out ;)

But there IS prime-time! So, your knowledge is awful!
Prime-time - the time of servers most load.
Sure there is some players, playing in the another period of time, but this is minority!

All the time is prime time according to some people ... Whatever time they decide to do a maintenance there will be peoples that think their time is so much more valuable than other peoples and I wish people would stop crying ... I am a little annoyed that the maintenance will be longer but I don't go around bitching about it non stop.

South Africa? Its the same time in other weird places, like central Europe.

Lol, there's no such thing as "South Africa" and "Europe". Well, maybe sometimes a pocket realm opens up when the only real people from the only real country wants to go on vacation, but that's it.

Oh... Unless you are of asian(Asia being a rather big place) descent, Europe or Africa is from where your ancestors invaded what has become known as America, or in the case of most of the africans "forcefully moved".

But then again, geography and US citizens... Youtube says its not a strong suit among the populace. Granted those clips are probably slightly skewed... :P

I guess that would mean early evening to late evening wherever one happens to be located.
It is prime time in Europe and plenty of other places at the moment.

Please educate yourself and actually go read a definition of what "prime time" is before sending another post like this.

People are more upset about the poor communication. When giving a time frame, "early afternoon" and "late evening" is far too vague. It just shows their lack of professionalism/experience/courtesy/communication/PR skills which are not confidence inspiring for someone like me who just bought the game 10 minutes ago.

Prime-Time is when everyone, who works, usually gets home and until late evening. Everyone knows this so stop talking about singular people. They decided to have a "North American" server and a "European" server and always talk about the timezones between them. That means that they are supporting time zone differences. So the talk about the "European" server being in the US and europeans having to get used to US times, just shows what the company thinks about it's european customer base. They don't care. If they did, the european server would have been in europe during beta. It didn't even exist in beta!

True. But prime time refers to evening hours in a time zone. Ergo the time when most people can play, and the time they usually do play the game on.

Btw the server was down at night as well, so they make sure that they *** off all the players and only those that play during prime time.

The EU server went down at 4:00 PM BST saying they would back up early afternoon (4:00pm seems late afternoon to me) but it is now early evening so where is the update?

When the admin said (early afternoon) they were referring to their own time-zone, not ours. This means, you add at least 6 hours to their "early afternoon" (whenever that is). I agree it might be confusing, but I got it on my first read.

If you are going to keep the servers down on prime time, can you at least give some kind of updates regarding how long we are going to have to wait?

Its not so much that they're down for maintenance that bothers me. Its the super broad general time frame. I know that you can't give an exact time it will be back up, but at the very least try and give an over estimated time rather than just "early evening." I'm all for maintenance for a better game but this is the 3rd or 4th time since i've been playing ESO that they have given such a generalized time frame.. Is it 4? is it 5? 6? 7? Do i go and find something to do for the whole day? or just go and play a couple games of pool at a bar and come back? It'd be a lot better and easier if we were given an estimated time rather than "early evening." Or even more frequent updates would suffice.

Prime time EU is not the same as prime time US. It amazes me that American's can't grasp that concept, your education system must really be as bad as they say. I pay enough money for this that at prime time I expect it to be working. EA/BioWare doesn't pull constant stunts like this with swtor so why does ZOS?

It's bad enough that the EU server is located in NA, do we know if they are actually going to move it to Europe at some point?
